Discover the magical mountain hamlet that inspired Lord of the Rings - SilverKris

"A well-known backpackers' lodge that doubles as a lively social hub, with a restaurant and bar that often hosts buzzing nightlife attended by both locals and visitors. It offers a range of affordable lodgings and features a famous, photogenic bathtub perched almost precariously on the edge of a cliff overlooking the forest, making it a popular photo spot and attraction in its own right." - SilverKris

Visited with my son and grandchildren. Very easy to organize our visit, and the hostess was very responsive - our visit was confirmed promptly. The children loved the site. It is not extensive; all sections are connected and the distance between is very manageable for small feet and/ or persons worth limited mobility. The paths are not ready suitable for buggy but my 2 year old granddaughter was all able to move between sections under her own steam. All sections are titled and have individual themes, yet all connect. It's a well maintained site, with plenty of opportunity to play and use imagination!

Wonderful place to spend an afternoon. Suitable for children who are walking, buggy not suitable for trail, but plenty space to park buggies to carry babies around for a look. Lovely shop, very welcoming host.

I brought my son to Away with the Fairies today. We had such a lovely afternoon, exploring the beautiful fairy gardens. There is plenty to keep the kids entertained - search the fairy trail for clues, toy café, colouring, hop stotch and writing letters to the fairies. You can also do arts & crafts decorating for a small fee. Rachel was very welcoming and chatty, she clearly loves her business. Tea, coffee and soft drinks (and biccies!) are provided free of charge which was so unexpected and such a lovely touch. There are picnic benches too to enjoy the surroundings. There is a gift shop selling an array of fairy items, priced to suit every budget. My son loved it and I would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area. Thank you Rachel and family

Absolutely a beautiful place for a visit. Such a magical place. Make a wish in the wishing well, write a letter or draw a picture and post it in the fairy letter box. The fairy shop has beautiful pieces for all your needs. Will definitely be back 💕🧚‍♂️

Thank you for the wonderful visit to your fairy garden.🧚‍♀️We all had so much fun! Amazing!❤️Magical!🪄 We were all able to be children again yesterday.🤗 Thank you for the experience. Good to know: A spontaneous visit - registration in the morning - was also possible. We were allowed to design our own fairy door for a small fee. A great souvenir from our trip.

Beautifully crafted, handmade, unique ornaments, gifts, houseware, and garden decorations. There's something for everyone here. It's a magical place that sells magical things!

Tucked away on the remote and lonely back road past the ill-starred Derrybrien wind farm is a tiny glade crammed with strangeness and charm (no quarks though). Smol humans will love it.
