We have stayed here several times now and it is always our favorite. The staff is so friendly, and the location is right in the middle so many wonderful gay establishments we enjoy. We were scheduled to come here in 2020 but of course that got canceled so we are overjoyed to finally make it back again! Our room is especially beautiful thanks to Ishan giving us a frequent flyers upgrade :-) thank you!

We recently stayed at this hotel during a trip to Berlin and had a generally positive experience, though there’s still room for improvement. First, a big plus: as loyalty program members, we were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade upon arrival. That was a great start to our stay and definitely appreciated. The room itself was comfortable and clean, but some aspects could use an update. A bit of modernization—especially in terms of design and amenities—would elevate the overall experience. Breakfast was decent, though on the simpler side. A bit more variety and fresher options would make a big difference here. The staff, both at reception and on the floors, were consistently courteous and helpful, which added a welcoming touch throughout our stay. We also enjoyed the small spa and solarium area—it’s a nice spot to relax and even connect with other gay travelers in a friendly atmosphere. All in all, a solid option in Berlin with potential to be even better with a few thoughtful upgrades.

This is the third Axel I’ve stayed at and not nearly as good as the Madrid or Barcelona. The hotel has ZERO social space. Part of what makes the Axel Concept so inviting is the chance to connect with other guests. But this one has none of that. There is a roof deck but no bar or place to order cocktails. There is a hot tub that is off on its own but no pool where people gather. The location of the hotel is good, and guest are friendly, but we didn’t have any conversations with any guests. You have to rely on grindr to meet guests. ||The room was a bit run down too. We were in the best suite which you could tell was once great. But the dresser was missing a drawer, and the walls and finishes are pretty old and beat up. ||The staff is friendly. The location is fairly convenient. Close walk to the subway station..and a 10 minute walk to the heart of the gay neighborhood. Not much around the hotel late night, particularly if you’re looking for a late night bite to eat. ||We were there for Pride which was awesome time to visit. But wouldn’t stay here again.

Great Hotel directly near the Kurfürstendamm and near the city. The employees are very gentle and nice - especially Mr. Ishan made my stay perfect. He is such a kind employee, absolutely focussed on his guests needs. |Thanks

The hotel looks good from the outside. However, inside you can see that it is old and has not been renovated for years. The rooms are old, dilapidated, with non-functional air conditioning. The room equipment is from a dozen or so years ago. I do not know why the hotel owners are so afraid of the damage that guests may cause and charge a deposit of 150 euros. After all, there is nothing in the rooms that would be worth 150 euros... In fact, there is visible damage in the rooms and I was really afraid that I could be accused of causing it... In addition, it is a great inconvenience for the guest and significantly extends the check-in process, which takes a very long time. When I want to get a room as soon as possible after the trip, I first have to show my credit card so that they can collect the money already blocked for the stay and then block the 150 euro deposit. All this makes me not want to return to this hotel when other hotels have modern online check-in options and I get information by e-mail that my room is ready. The hotel staff tries their best but unfortunately they can't do much. The hotel needs immediate renovation of the rooms (replacement of all furniture and equipment such as new TV or working AC) and common areas. And maybe new room design? Unless the owners do not care about the comfort and satisfaction of their guests and only about making money…

disappointed with the Hotel Axel, my partner and I usually go twice a year, but I don't think we'll go back. We stayed at the hotel on Saturday and Sunday and the cleanliness has changed for the worse. We found some socks under our bed, the toilet was dirty and smelled really bad. We went to reception and the guy never came to the room to take the sock out from under the bed and check the poor cleanliness of the room. We were there before and the cleanliness was impeccable, but now I realize that both the spa and the rooms have significantly lowered the quality of cleaning, and the cleaning staff is not as friendly as before. We left with a bad taste in our mouths because we had always thought the hotel was charming.

From start to end, greeted by Fabien and wished off by Roksana made my stay at Axel perfect. Short stay unfortunately but super friendly team, highly professional and great hotel. Room perfectly equipped, clean and nice design/layout. Great amenities like mini gym and wellness made it impossible not 2 get a workout and some pampering. Perfect location and would definitely go back.

Honestly, I didn't like the hotels in Spain. They have better service. The guy at reception who helped us wasn't very friendly. They made us wait until 5 p.m., and the next day they asked us to leave the room at 11 a.m., when the day before we were supposed to have checked in at 3 p.m. And when we got to the room, it smelled really bad and was a little dirty. Honestly, I don't recommend it, considering the number of hotels in Berlin.
