Axel Hotel Madrid

We recently stayed at this hotel and had an absolutely superb experience from start to finish. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to help with everything we needed. They were genuinely eager to assist and make our stay comfortable. Location-wise, the hotel is perfect. It’s centrally situated, and we could walk to almost all of Madrid’s main attractions, which made our sightseeing incredibly convenient. Restaurants, cafes, and shops were all within easy reach, adding to the overall convenience and enjoyment. Our room was clean, modern, and well-appointed, with a comfortable bed and a peaceful ambiance—exactly what we needed after busy days exploring the city. The hotel facilities were well-maintained, and the overall vibe was tidy and welcoming. If you’re considering a stay in Madrid, we’d highly recommend this hotel. It offers a fantastic combination of superb service, unbeatable location, and comfort that makes you feel right at home. Pros: Exceptional, helpful staff Prime central location, easy to walk to major attractions Clean, comfortable rooms Great value for the quality Cons (minor, if any): A couple of quieter hours in the morning for sleep could be impacted by nearby street activity, but overall very peaceful Overall, a top-tier choice for anyone visiting Madrid. I cannot begin to express my gratitude to the Axel Hotel family for making my stay so wonderful, I organised a trip for my partner’s birthday in Madrid, I decided to stay in this hotel and what a surprise, they did not only offered top service, but an amazing upgrade to our room! One of the suites on the second floor!! I am really appreciative about this and definitely will start here again on my next visit to Madrid! Staff were lovely and friendly! Room was spotless , bed was comfy! Shower the most amazing I ever tried !! Recommend to stay here 100%! It was also very affordable for Madrid standards!

Fab hotel in a very central location. I can't think of any fault here. I stayed in a superior room with my fiancée and we had ample space. The room was large with separate shower and toilet, it was almost like a one bedroom suite. The staff were always pleasant and always greeted us with a hello or good morning. I requested a room on a high floor and my request was granted. I was on the 5th floor out of the 6 habitable floors the hotel has. As I mentioned no faults great hotel, great location, ideal for LGBTQ couples who want a safe space.

Pros: great location, rooftop bar and pool and a welcome drink! I didn’t have the breakfast but that looked like a great deal as well. The rooms are beautifully decorated 10/10 for decor. Location is great too!! The staff was really kind! Great view from rooftop Cons: where this hotel misses is functionality and feel for me. The corridors to get to your room feels like a haunted house. There are steps in front of reception I had 2 massive bags, very odd setup that I have to separate from all my belongings to check in, not safe and simply makes no sense why you’d have reception up some steps. The carpet in the hallways made it hard to move my suitcases and they don’t have any bellhop services. The room while beautiful the most uncomfortable/cheap bed I’ve been at in a hotel! Like I was shocked when I hopped in, it was at that moment I realized I should’ve just spent more and stayed at a hotel chain I trust (but I’ve really been trying to try more boutique hotels) Do not get room 408, because I hope not all rooms are like this but I thought the room door would close automatically behind me but mine wouldn’t I had to hard pull it shut, which to me is basic standards and wildly unsafe..& the massive stain at the front door is not appeasing. All in all the free welcome drink is cool and they had cute things but completely missed the mark on foundational things.

I have been at Madrid multiple times and thisnwas a greatbexperience. The suite is big. Spacious and luxury. Clean place. The only conplaint os that if you get bothered by noise from the street like a police car running sirens at 3 am. Ask for a higer floor my room wa at the 2nd floor facing the street so i had to deal with the street noise. But that something that doesnt change my great experience at this hotel.

I am writing this review with disappointment. Due to a genuine family emergency, supported by a medical report, I was unable to proceed with my stay and contacted the hotel in advance to explain the situation. Unfortunately, despite the circumstances and documentation provided, no understanding or flexibility was shown. The response was limited strictly to policy, with no consideration of the human situation involved, which I found very unfair and inconvenient. This experience was particularly disappointing as I am a returning guest who has stayed at this hotel in previous years. I expected a more understanding and humane approach in a situation like this.

Alternative hotel welcoming LGBTQ+ guests and as they also state in signage, heterofriendly. Rooms just a bit dark, at least mine. Perhaps the rooms facing outward can be brighter but on the inner open courtyard ring the light was minimal even on a very sunny day. But aside from that, great room, great shower, good amenities like bar and room service. No water in the room except mini-bar - I think every hotel should provide this as a standard. Or do that thing where you can fill your own glass jug in the lobby and bring to the room. Anyway, the bar was great fun with good banter albeit not large space. Would stay here again.

Great hotel and fantastic location. We had a minor incident when we checked in but they quickly resolved the issue and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was great. Room was incredible. The gym is a great touch

Axel Hotel Madrid is a must stay if a roof top pool is your thing. During our stay the roof top was like a gay bar. Party atmosphere, music and lots of drinks. The rooms are OK, but it doesn't matter when you are spending most of your time on the roof by the pool. The staff are extremely friendly! Food and drink are a bit expensive, but again, it's all about the views. I had the hamburger and it was amazing. Soak up the sun all day over beautiful Madrid. It has a small gym with the essentials equipment - cable machine with pull-up bar, dumbbells, bench and a couple cardio machines. It was never busy during my stay, and the gym itself is in a beautiful room. I would definitely stay here again!

I am so happy happy that I delayed my flight home and stayed another day at this beautiful place. My Gold deluxe room at 206 was amazing. The only drawback was I was hoping I had a street view instead of courtyard view. Great location. 12/14 minutes to Prado Museum. My ceiling had to be at least 12/14 feet high. They should mention those details in my opinion. Staff was very attentive. I love that they asked me what I needed before I arrived. I hung out at the rooftop bar with the striped lap style pool. It is a gay hotel but straight friendly. A variety of sweets at the hotel lobby. I'm definitely a fan. However some of the furniture looks a little worn in the room but overall a great place. The massage from the hotel was fantastic. He seemed to know exactly what I needed. I will definitely book again with them wherever they are...

This hotel is so much more than we expected! Queer and pretty! Clean and comfy! We are trying out all the facilities. Love the rooftop, pool and gym!

We were in Madrid during a historic heat wave, and while we were staying in a beautiful hotel, it did not have a pool. Axel hotel has a small but very refreshing (cool) rooftop pool. Non guests can buy a day pass for 20 euros, which includes a towel and a beer or glass of wine. It's LGBTQ friendly and that was cool with us. They played chill music and had killer fans that sprayed mist of cool water. Great find

Axel Hotel Management Team and Investors, I have been following your Axel Hotel chain for about a year with BIG plans to stay either Madeira, Barcelona or Ibeza next year. Today I got an advertisement email from Axel Hotels that stated anyone with a reservation 'through May 31" is eligible for a mere 'voucher'. My partner and I had a long European Trip planned this July throughout Portugal, Spain, Finland and Denmark. None of our reservations were 'refundable' yet ALL OF THE HOTELS REFUNDED OUR MONEY IN FULL even though most will have re-opened by July. I see that IF we had made reservations at an Axel Hotel, we would have been stuck with nothing more than a voucher and our cash would have been gone. No one individual willingly gives a hotel an interest free loan for a year, which is really what a 'voucher' is. Youre also very aware that most vouchers wont be redeemed and you will have effectively stolen the money under the guise of compromise. For THIS REASON, I will NEVER stay at one of your resorts, or ANY hotel that values money over the customer. Thankfully we are not one of the guests that youve screwed, and now....We never will be. Your business model targets the Gay Community. Gay men travel more often, and generally have more spendable income for travel. We are a good target and a grateful community when we find an ally. We are also a very harsh community when we discover a predator in our midst! We have been preyed on before and it never works out well for the predator in the end. Think about that for one minute You have a choice, to be right; or to be human. Your hotels chose to take the money and run! too bad Mark California, USA

Axel Hotel Madrid is an amazing hotel with a breathtaking rooftop view and pool. My stay would have not been the same because of Alberto from the reception. From the moment i walked in to check in, his hospitality and professionalism exceeded my expactions. He is definitely an asset for the hotel; he also recommended me all the nice places to visit and things to donin Madrid. Thank you Alberto and Axel hotel for a wonderful experience that makes me want to book again soon!

Better than I expected!!! Everything you see in the pictures is real lol ! I never believe in pictures Bcs they always make it look so nice and is nothing like that But excuse me this hotel is perfect exactly how you see the pictures plus you can update the room if you want ! Definitely I will come back here ! Staff amazing !
