"In a protected valley at the edge of Ulaanbaatar, Ayan Zalaat spreads across 13.8 hectares where the capital's energy gives way to open sky and quiet hills. The property's dining lineup is unusually ambitious for Mongolia: an Italian restaurant with handmade pastas, a teppanyaki-equipped Japanese venue flying in fresh fish, a modern Chinese kitchen, an authentic steakhouse, and a subterranean wine cellar stocked with European and South American bottles. There's a spa rooted in local traditions, and the rooftop lounge offers sight lines across the city and the surrounding steppe. An unexpectedly cosmopolitan retreat, in a place better known for ger camps than grand hotels." - Tablet Hotels
Great service and friendly staff. The food just wasn’t my favorite.

Real fine dining in UB.
Good wine list, which is a rarity.
Worth going the distance as it is not downtown.

Newly built hotel, the exterior landscape works haven't yet been completed. Restaurant interior is nice with wide windows, bathroom interior is neat, lobby lounge area is quite instagrammable, with clean beige colors.
