Ayrburn

Stayed in the area for 5 days and found ourselves returning to Ayrburn four times, which honestly says it all. The surroundings are absolutely stunning. The setting is peaceful, beautifully maintained, and such a relaxing place to unwind. Every visit felt like a little escape. The meals were impeccable every single time. Fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavour you can tell so much care goes into every dish. Whether it was a quick stop or a longer sit-down meal, the quality never missed. The staff were just as impressive. Warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Nothing felt rushed, and every experience felt personal and thoughtful. Ayrburn became one of the highlights of our trip, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return again and again. Highly recommend!

We celebrated our anniversary here, and the entire experience was wonderful. To start, they surprised us with complimentary champagne for our special occasion, and a thoughtful handwritten card on our table which was such a lovely touch! We began with the bread, which was warm, fluffy, and absolutely delicious, especially paired with the browned butter. It set the perfect tone for the meal. For the mains, we tried the scotch fillet and the coffee-rubbed venison. Both were cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The vegetables and potatoes were good, though they could have been cooked just a bit longer for our preference. The Greek salad had a sweetness to it, and the dressing tied everything together beautifully. Dessert was a highlight – the tiramisu was one of the best we've ever had! Light, creamy, and with just the right balance of flavors. To drink, we highly recommend the lychee lemonade – it was a standout! The blood orange mocktail was also refreshing and flavorful. Overall, this was a memorable anniversary dinner, and we can’t wait to return!

The location was absolutely stunning, with so much to explore. The landscape was beautifully done, and although we didn’t have enough time to see everything, even the little glimpses of the different sites were amazing. We had dinner at the Woodshed, which had a cozy and inviting atmosphere, especially with the fireplace in the center. It would have been nicer to sit outside, but unfortunately, it was raining. As for the food, it was decent overall, though not exceptional. The tuna ceviche wasn’t very fresh, and the fish dish we had was a bit dry. However, the steak and dessert crème brulee were both excellent. Overall, it was a great experience, but given how lovely the setting was, I had high expectations, and I felt the food could’ve been better.

Beautiful place with beautiful surrounding areas. The food was fantastic and service was very attentive, taking time to answer any questions and giving great recommendations for wine. We enjoyed our evening very much and will definitely come back if we're ever in New Zealand again.

We are NZ locals from Wellington and travelled down with family from Scotland. We spent 4.5hrs at Ayrburn that started with a wonderful wine tasting in the Barrel Room, Jolene guided us through the wines with such knowledge, passion and sassy style - she was fabulous! Then we had a delicious lunch in the Bakehouse, walked to the waterfall, had a cocktail in the Burr Bar then bought the most delicious butterfly lamb and sausages to cook on the BBQ back at our Airbnb after the most perfect day at Ayrburn. Without knowing much about the place, I think we fully took advantage of what it had to offer and it was so wonderful to experience it at such a leisurely pace without feeling rushed or pressured to spend money at any point! Thank you for such a lovely day! Ps we loved the QR code ordering system at the bake house - so efficient!

What a place. Spacious. Stunning well curated gardens, which add to the existing well established trees that dot the estate. Aspect of the surrounding ranges with easy access to move from venue to venue. We started at the manure room/woolshed. With QR code on the tables it really makes for an easy sit down and order process. The portions are plentiful fresh and well thought out. The drinks menu is a great blend of local and international tastings. With a creative cocktail menu of both old and new. All you really have to do is go and enjoy the surrounds and the spectacle that is Ayrburn

I celebrated my birthday at Woolshed with friends and had an exceptional experience from start to finish. Our waitress, Catalina, was outstanding! friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, making the evening even more enjoyable. Every dish we tried was delicious, but the special cut of the day and the wild garlic risotto were truly remarkable!! cooked to perfection and full of flavour!!! A sincere thank-you to Emma, Catalina, and the entire Woolshed team for creating such a memorable evening. This is an absolute must-do dining experience!!! we can’t wait to return!!!!

Slow roasted lamb shoulder with tripled cooked potatoes and seasonal veggies - simply amazing ! Everything was just perfect. Charlotte, our waitress was super knowledgeable , that was impressive ! Good didnt take too long , came perfectly hot and so did the veggies. Decor was nice and the fireplace a real bonus ! Totally recommend.
