The positives were the staff, breakfast and location but it ended there. The building needs renovation. I informed the guy at the reception that the shower head rail is about to fall off, he said he'll get it looked at but never did. After that, I noticed that a lot of stuff needs fixing so I didn't bother reporting anything else as we were only there for 2 nights. Some sockets didn't work. One socket was hanging off the wall. The door handle was loose. Also, my wife dropped her phone behind the bed. When I pulled the bed to retrieve the phone, we were confronted with a pile of dust that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. Beds were uncomfortable. This is a small establishment with a handful of rooms, surely it isn't difficult to make these small fixes. The worst of all is something that isn't an easy fix is the noise. You can hear people talking in other rooms and people out on the courtyard. On the second night, I woke up to the sounds of a young lady who was unable to get into her room as the lock had a problem. Then I heard the sound of a drill, I assume they had to drill the lock open. If you are driving, check the roads on Google as they are so narrow that I felt more tired on these narrow roads than the 6 hours of driving that I did to get to Ayvalık.

I stayed here with my family and we absolutely loved it! There is a charming vibe about this lovingly and diligently restored house. The attention to detail and hard-work that has restored this old house makes it a beautiful boutique hotel. The location couldn’t be better for exploring this outstanding and incredibly charming ‘old town’. The hosts were fantastic and my wife, children and I were completely as ease relaxing in the shaded garden or chilling in the various alcoves with a drink and a book. The organic, homemade produce and catering was first class! I can highly recommend the family suite in the separate flat, this great space enables parents and small ones their own spaces after bedtime and makes it feel like your own house, the private balcony is a real bonus!! If you’re considering staying definitely do it, it’s first class and in a superb location.

The place is amazing overall in terms of location as it is near the sea coast and there are lots of cafes, bars and shops around. The room we booked was nice although the bathroom was too small so it would be a bit of a problem to maneuver for big people 😂. What I liked the most about Macaron Konağı was the backyard where one can sit, relax and enjoy the atmosphere. I could sit there and do some work on my laptop. Thank you.

The place and the surroundings are astonishing! The old building it has been restored recently but kept all old features and charm. The entire neighbourhood is fantastic. we had drinks on the terrace, such a calming atmosphere! don't skip this place while in Ayvalik!

Fantastic hotel. Good location not far from the waterfront and restaurants. Large courtyard with garden. Soft pillows, duvet and bed. Tea available in lovely lounge at night. Quiet location. Breakfast was excellent, bountiful buffet fit for a king and queen. My only dislike was the smoke from the smokers area outside comes into our room and we tried the air conditioning but it is fixed on heating. My partner went downstairs and politely told the smokers this and thankfully they stopped. This is a common problem in Turkey because most suffer from this addiction to nicotine.

I stayed here on 3 separate occasions in September 2019. I felt very much at home here and would definitely stay here again. This small, family-run hotel is warm and inviting and it is located right in the center of old-town Ayvalik. The rooms are comfortable and clean and there is a beautiful courtyard in back where breakfast is served. The breakfast is typical Turkish and very good- plenty of selection, homemade and fresh . The staff is friendly and was very helpful with my travel arrangements and any questions I had. I would definitely recommend the Macaron Konagi.

A charming place with amazing staff, rooms were beautifully done. Breakfast is not to be missed at all. The garden is quite a relaxing place. ||I wanna say a special thank you to the staff, they went above and beyond for us. Left a valuable item there and we went to Greece, they kept it safe for us and did inform us promptly which we collected on our way back.|
