We stayed in the Azalea Inn during a hot spell but the accommodations and staff made the trip amazing. Every detail was catered to, right down to bookings. Staying in an 1800’s mansion gives the real feel of the history of Savannah. The precious pool was an added bonus not to mention the graciously appointed breakfast. They even had easy and very affordable parking. I can’t wait to get back.

Such an amazing stay. The food was 5 stars! The breakfast each morning was superb. The advice of where to go each day from the staff was spot on. The sweet treats each night with the tea and coffee bar made me feel so elevated and elegant as I enjoyed them in the estates shared living quarters. Our room was beautiful and made me feel otherworldly as I stepped back into a time of slower pace and exquisite taste. I will definitely be back to enjoy the food, staff, and the ambiance of such a true Savannah gem.

We truly enjoyed staying at this b&b. The dining room is great with comical murals worth reading about it in their information book. We were pleasantly surprised with the delicious breakfasts that were served to us. Many b&b's don't do that anymore and have a boring self serve buffet. Not here. You get service and have fun mingling with guests. Hats off to the cook. The beds were super comfy and we were happy they had a pool since it was so hot outside. We love the location too.

We enjoyed our stay at Azaela Inn for many reasons. The house is beautiful and the location was awesome - almost everything we wanted to see or do was within walking distance. I enjoyed having my coffee on the beautiful covered front porch in the mornings. |Everyone working here was personable, professional and friendly and gave us some great tips for exploring the city. We had our choice of 3 different times for breakfast and the food was always great. |They were very accommodating to our needs/wants; for example my husband let them know he was not happy with the showerhead in our bathroom and within a couple of hours they had switched it out for a very nice one with detachable wand! Quite unexpected and very much appreciated!|We stayed in the Cotton Exchange room with a big, beautiful king size bed and sliding door to our own little sitting area outside overlooking the small pool. The bed was comfy and there was a huge jacuzzi in the room but sadly we never did use it (maybe next time!).

Beautiful B and B in a residential neighborhood in Savannah, Georgia!| From the moment we stepped in we knew this was a special place for our 46th wedding anniversary!| Malia at the check-in desk was kind enough to go over a map of Savannah, and took us on a tour of the B and B. She gave us the breakfast times, ( they put the menu out the night before ), plus the times they put out the hors d’oeuvres and nightly sweets.| We stayed in the Wisteria Cottage Suite, which had a living area, a little kitchen with Keurig machine and assorted coffees. A step up from the living area was the bedroom with a King bed, and a large bathroom with a rainforest shower and Jacuzzi for two!|The breakfasts ( we had ours at 10am everyday ) were wonderful and well thought out, and they didn’t mind bringing our breakfast out to our patio and patio table on our last day there!| Everyone was very kind and attentive, ( Q is a wonderful manager ) and we will come back for sure!!

Our stay at the Azalea Inn was wonderful. The manager was extremely friendly, and genuinely interested in making sure our time at the Inn and in Savannah was memorable. The inn provided amazing breakfasts and made sure that each meal was tailor suited to everyone’s tastes. Evening offerings included a social time with hordeurves, home made desserts ( we had caramel brownies and banana pudding) and complimentary sherry in the lounge. It was far greater than what we could have ever imagined!

My husband and I came to help my best friend and her husband celebrate their 20th anniversary. We stayed in Sweet Olive which overlooked the pool. My friend and her husband were upstairs but their room was just as nice as ours. The breakfast and evening snacks were great and the staff were all amazing. We will definitely be returning!

We stayed in the Huntingdon Garden room in March 2025 and had a fabulous visit! This was our first time to Savannah and the staff was helpful with recommendations for activities and meals. Teagan and Victoria were wonderful managers. We loved our room! It was spacious and the bedding was extremely comfortable! Just a note, it is a high bed, but we are taller people so we could reach. The daily breakfasts were delicious and service was fantastic! Q was a beautiful hostess each morning! There is a self serve coffee/tea bar that we had access to at any time. They provided daily water bottles each day. The Happy Hour and nightly desserts were a fun touch. I like that they posted a sign announcing daily temperatures and a menu. We could easily walk to Forsyth Park and local transportation stops. There were a couple places we ate within walking distance, Betty Bombers and Crystal Beer Parlor.

Yelp
Amazing B&B in Savannah!! The food and accommodations were great but it was the staff that put it over the top!! Thank you Tiegen & ladies

Yelp
Tourists Beware! My husband and I booked a room at the Azalea Inn in early October for one night. The cost was close to$400.00. Then Hurricane Helen happened, and it turned our lives upside down, because a family member and our grandchildren lost simply everything. We then had to cancel our reservation. I called the Inn twelve days prior to our arrival...we were told it is their policy that all cancellations must be fourteen days prior to arrival. I tried to explain how much this money was needed due to this catastrophic event that occurred, but they refused to accept the cancellation, and our credit card was charged the full amount. These many months later, it is still difficult for us to understand the cold hearted actions taken on the part of the owners of the Azalea Inn. So, tourists beware, follow the fourteen day cancellation policy or lose your money!

Yelp
My husband and I enjoyed a beautiful weekend in Savannah; we stayed at the Azalea Inn....if you haven't been, you're missing out on a great gem of a place+ The staff were very knowledgeable and when asked, offered suggestions for dining and places to visit. Our breakfast at the B-n-B was superb, and filling enough that we'd skip lunch and have an early dinner. The rooms and decor of the home were beautiful; a history of the home was available on the sitting room and made us appreciate the beauty of it even more! Recently I called back to inquire about the Sherry offered in the evenings and 'Q' was so kind and gave me the name.....sipping on a glass with their homemade desserts in the evening was a perfect way to end our days. Will definitely be visiting again!

Yelp
Incredible experience! Beautiful rooms, fabulous breakfast (accommodating for vegetarians and allergies!), top of the line service. The staff is great and works to personalize the experience for you. We enjoyed every recommendation given (the quick walk to the park and Collins Quarter for brunch was clutch!), but nothing beat lounging by the pool enjoying the serenity. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Beautiful place to stay in Savannah. Staff was so friendly and helpful and the breakfast each morning was delicious. Very convenient location for walking around town.

Yelp
Innkeeper, Teresa, and her staff have created a home away from home for their guests, remembering each of us by name and treating us all like family. I couldn't have asked for a more comfy and delightful place to stay. Upon check-in, we were given a tour of the facilities. Free coffee and tea are available at all times, as well as other refreshments for inexpensive costs. There is a pool with plenty of seating, towels provided. We stayed in the Magnolia suite, which has a private balcony and en-suite. In the hallway between rooms there is a communal fridge, in which guests can store items with their name and date. A delightful breakfast is served every morning and dessert provided each night. The chef, Mae, is a phenomenal cook who caters to each guests' dietary needs. If ever you find yourself visiting Savannah, Georgia, do make Azalea Inn the pillow upon which you rest your head.

Yelp
OMG! This place is simply amazing! And it is not only the place itself, but the staff!! "Q", Scott and Tiegan(?) are by far the most accommodating hosts ever. Whoever owes this place should be super proud to have such a wonderful, dedicated staff. They treat this house like it's their home. Ironically met people from our hometown in NY while sitting poolside. Kim and Karen (Sisters from Florida)

Yelp
I was so looking forward to staying at the Azalea but we were extremely disappointed. It was not the beautiful, well kept, elegant Inn that was advertised. One of the blinds at our window was broken so the manager showed us " just use your hands to close the slats, which were covered in dust and did did not close all the way and there were no curtains so the light from outside streamed in all night which along with rude guests who came in past midnight and had loud conversations right outside our room and someone rattled the door to our room trying to get in , insured that we got no sleep. The place was not kept up and not clean in general but soap scum on the shower floor, mold in the corner, dust covering everything in the room and they charge you $15 a day to park in their dirt parking lot with weeds everywhere. We were so unhappy we left before breakfast, manager not on site to speak to but emailed them and have received no response. We love Savanah and have stayed at some lovely B&B's but this one I cannot recommend.

Yelp
Exceptional in every area. Service is the finest in the world. Great historic and charming Savannah location. Elegant, romantic, touching, inspirational and personalized service and rooms. Better than the finest hotels and a destination not to be missed when deciding where to stay. Kim and the owners truly go beyond meeting your expectations and touch you heart. Easy walking to all the best sites. This is the home away from home with true historic classic southern charm and hospitality!!!

Yelp
First off, we were so welcomed and felt so much at home that taking pictures totally escaped my mind. Upon arrival the chef was hosting at the front desk and greeted us like family, keeping us feeling at ease after driving in from neighboring Charleston. Adored the fact that much of the original 1836 home is still in tact after careful restoration and maintenance. Could feel the historic vibes throughout the space and we happily slept like babies. The daily breakfast was served in such a way that was eerily in tune with everyone's preferences. Being connected feels great and would highly recommend this spot to anyone.

Yelp
This was a beautiful time at my first bed and breakfast stay. Check in was smooth and effortless and the home was arraigned so artfully, the front desk process did not at all seem clinical. The room wasn't ready of course as I arrived early but I left my bag on the living room floor as I went sightseeing. It all seemed so informal, yet completely efficient. In the days to come, I realized that this was a completely safe place to leave the bag and now have a new found love for the bed and breakfast. After a delicious, indulgent meal at Mrs. Wilkes (go eat there!!) I got back and was shown my room and its various amenities including a killer balcony, which I loved and immediately sat there for a long while. It felt good here. The wine and cheese social hour was a great way to meet the other folk who were staying here. There was always someone there to hang out with and we all enjoyed cream sherry for the first time. Breakfast was delicious. They told me they had a new chef. He might have been new to them but he certainly knew his way around a kitchen. He was also knowledgeable about some of the local sights and restaurants as well which came in handy when I was out and about. There is no choice when it comes to breakfast so make sure you inform them about your allergies and dislikes. Or if it's just a dislike, you could simply live on the edge and try something new The home and grounds were well maintained. The pool was constantly cleaned which isn't easy in the fall when there are trees everywhere. Just because I was curious, I looked behind a chair and was pleasantly delighted to find no dust. However, it's worth noting that I was having such a peaceful time here I could have found a giant cobweb with dust bunnies the size of bunnies and wouldn't have minded. The service was impeccable. I had questions about everything in the area and everyone I asked here was able to answer them for me. When there was a problem with my room, everyone including the owner worked hard to fix it. When they couldn't, they changed the room. I appreciated that greatly. I loved my stay here and I think it's utterly worth it. I saw somewhere else that a minor few believe the price didn't seem worth it but I believe they're wrong. The luxurious bed in a well appointed room along with breakfast and a host of other creature comforts made for a great time. Finally, I travel by myself a lot and It was nice to be treated as a person rather than a lonely, anonymous traveler. I appreciated it.

Yelp
With my sister getting married this past weekend, finding rooms in Savannah were at a premium. And, I had my mom with me. And, no I was not going to share a bed with my mom. And yes, 90% of all BnB rooms in Savannah are 1 King/Queen only. Thankfully, I was able to score one of the last suites available in town for the weekend, and I found it at the Azalea Inn. I had booked the Midnight Garden villa, which is pretty much a 2 room, 500 SF suite with a full kitchen- I would call it a carriage house if you will. If came with a nice king bed and a queen sofa bed. More on that in a few. At first, I noticed that the office pretty much closed at 9pm, and at the time, I knew it would be a conflict because I had school in Atlanta that day until 4, knowing I would miss the 9PM cutoff. However, this place is all keycode/keyless, so if need be, that would have been OK. However, we made it in the afternoon on the Friday. We were greeted by a friendly lady (who was there everytime I went in the house)- I forgot her name- gaahh. She gave us a rundown, a tour, and got us situated with everything. In the main house, she showed us the complimentary sherry by the Christmas tree (in the living room), the large dining table with treats and drinks all around, the free popcorn, and the sodas as well (I think those were like 25/50 cents). Then, we were guided to our room, which was in the back corner of the property. It was a keycode to get in, so that was nice not having to worry about losing any keys. The room was bright, warm, and spacious, and clean too. The TV's were wall mounted and were decent sized (I capitalized on late night Netflix binges). The bathroom had a sliding door, and was separate entry. There was also a full size washer/dryer as well! The breakfast that was included, I never had the chance to indulge (I slept in way too late, and had some weird Wendy's craving, not sure why). My mom said her breakfast was good though. One thing I did notice though is when I came back both nights (after 9pm), I noticed the front doors were all unlocked (they instruct the guests to lock the doors behind them after they enter)- that kind of erred me, as the building was vulnerable. I get it is in a historic district, but literally anyone who wanted to wander in could have, and that's not cool. Also, in the main house, there is a restroom. And I tell you what. It is officially the smallest bathroom I had ever been in my entire life. For a kid, probably wouldn't be a problem. For me, I was actually claustrophobic and wanted to leave the door open, but I am sure that would have been terrifying. Thankfully, I made it out alive. Don't believe me? Check it out for yourself. This is a great property and the people were friendly and the room was solid (the sofa bed was kind of hard for me to sleep on, but I am also 6'4)- with tempurpedic pillows and mattresses. It is just not having someone readily available in the main house 24/7 prevented me from 5 stars. I do get the catch 22 though, that sometimes true BnBs the owners got to sleep too, but after seeing the fact the building being open like that you would want to protect your investments (and your guests). Also note, children under 18 are not allowed. Worth checking out though, great location with newer amenities!

Yelp
Extremely frustrated and experiencing horrible customer service. We booked a visit to Savannah prior to the Delta surge. With the rates escalating we are nervous to visit...knowing being compromised. Booking.com is unable to help and Azalea is keeping a large portion of our reservation funds. Our reservation is in OCTOBER. We contacted them two weeks ago. They have plenty of time to rebook this one room. Yes, they have a cancel policy which states the amount they keep. Yes, we are asking for a "variance" to this policy in the sake of GOOD customer service. Frustrated. Of two people that have built multi million $ businesses, we are appalled with this poor customer service. Book a stay and enjoy our funding of a place we did not get to stay at.

Yelp
Our stay here has been so relaxing. Visiting with other guests at breakfast we discovered shared backgrounds such as family roots stretching from CA to NY, common work backgrounds in the military, aviation, construction and even staffing fields. There were grandparents laughing with ( and at) new parents The food at breakfast is delicious and certainly not standard scrambled eggs, paper thin bacon and toast. Our room, the Wisteria, has a sitting and kitchen area, along with a little patio area by the pool. We would absolutely book this room again. If you want to relax around the property, this room is perfect. For security, there are some lights outside the Wisteria room at night that would keep my husband awake if he did not always travel with eyeshades. If you need total darkness to sleep, pack the eyeshades. The light that filters in that did not bother me. There is a deep jacuzzi tub that was very relaxing after walking around Savannah . Lovely property, friendly staff, active owner involvement, great location = wonderful relaxing weekend in a lovely city.

Yelp
The staff gets five stars, friendly and helpful. Breakfast and late snack also five stars, ask for the explanation of the mural local art students. Excellent and a lot of fun in that painting. Grounds are 4/5 stars as this is building that has been around since 1889, it has its flaws though they are acceptable. A few thing that aren't, we stayed in the Cotton Exchange Suite and we're told that it was the best room in the house, which by price it should be.upon entering, everything looked like the pictures. Great, comfortable King bed, large TV on the wall, large two person jacuzzi tub, fire place and lounge couch. What you can't see is the shower. Seems one side of the sliding doors broke and the have a Motel 6 shower curtain in its place that allows water to get all over the floor. The shower head is a $20 Walmart special. The water pressure is low in the shower and although it took several minutes to heat up, it's hard to turn the dial to the sweet spot of find your comfortable water temperature. The toilet is and old one that is low and about 27" so is a long way down and ever second or third flush did not fill up with water. I had to take off the lid and fix it each time it broke. Although I reported that problem at 900am, it wasn't fixed that day. The jacuzzi tub is powerful and only one speed as most are, we filled it just to the line over the jets and it was so powerful the water spilled out and we had to use towels to clean up. When we did that, we found the towels black from dirty floors. The chandelier over the hot tub was also very dusty. The two night stands were both water stained. Overall cleanliness was a 3, if you are really picky maybe a two. You maybe asking why I'm giving this place a 4, well it's in a great location, the flaws are just that, flaws. I don't recommend this particular room until major repairs and furniture replacements are made. It's overpriced for what needs to be done. I'd stay in one of the other rooms though because of the location, food, staff and history associated with this house. Hopefully the owners will take the necessary steps to bring this room up to standard.

Yelp
Just recently returned from a trip and I must say that I was extremely happy with every single aspect of my stay! I was immediately greeted by the very welcoming and friendly Teresa, who quickly showed me to my room. (The Huntingdon Garden). The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, and I would be remiss if I didn't give special props for the ultra luxurious sheets! Talk about a heavenly experience! Each morning the breakfast was truly a culinary treat, including the 5 star service! The coffee was some of the best I have had in a long time, served in beautiful pottery type mugs! I am a true Southern Belle, who absolutely adored the fact that breakfast and evening dessert was served on fine china. Every attention to detail was given, including the delightful desserts left for us each night as we came back from dinner, and those ultra romantic moonlight walks through the gorgeous parks. Beautifully wrapped with our names on top, which makes you feel pretty special! The pool and garden area was such a lovely spot where relaxation is sure to follow. It , was perfect for this sun loving lady, and equally as perfect for my shade loving companion. I am already looking forward to a return visit!

Yelp
I have been staying in the Wisteria Garden Cottage, a converted carriage house in the back of the property. The first day I was challenged by a little brown crab along the pool side. He scared me and made me jump in the air, subsequently twisting my ankle. Can't stop giggling about this. I've included his picture so if you stay here you can keep an eye out! This Inn is really special. What makes it so special starts with the people running the place. They are all very warm, welcoming and the owner has a fantastic, sassy sense of humor. They provide breakfast at set times and you get to eat a decadent meal (coming from someone who usually has a granola bar) and meet the other folks staying at the Inn. The garden room we are in is separate from the main house so we don't hear any of the activity going on that those in the main house will. If you stay here I would splurge and rent the carriage house we are in. It has a kitchenette, a sitting room, a wonderful bed with squishy bedding and... a monster jet tub! I am usually not a bather in hotels (showers, yes. Not a bath). But this monster jet tub lured me in and I am glad it did. The jets are insanely strong, which feels great after a day of walking around Savannah. We spent the day walking the town and saw many other places in pleasant areas to stay. I like the Azalea Inn because it is tucked in a neighborhood, just outside of the touristy areas, close to a grocery store, yet completely walkable to all parts of the city. To be honest I would probably deduct a half a star if I could. The room needs a bit of love to get up to snuff. Some fresh paint around the room and some grout line fixes in the bathroom would really make this place perfect. A touch more finishing effort and this would be a true five stars.

Yelp
My stay at Azalea inn is extremely enjoyable. Hosts here are extremely friendly and accommodating. The room we booked was gorgeous with a big balcony space. Pool area was lovely and not to mention the nice social area they had with plenty of tea/coffee selection. It's a lovely inn very close to Park Forsyth. Worth every penny paid!

Yelp
We loved our weekend at the Azalea Inn. The atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The food was wonderful. The backyard pool area was like an oasis. We stayed in the Magnolia room on the 2nd floor overlooking the pool. While the room itself was small, the large balcony made up for that. Next time we would try the Live Oak Canopy room next door with the same view and nice balcony, although it runs about $40 to $50 more a night. The larger size might make it worthwhile. Next time we would not order breakfast in bed. It was a waste of $40 for us. We woke at 7:00 am so getting breakfast brought up at 8:40 am was not what we had hoped. It was nothing more special than the delicious breakfast served downstairs. We enjoyed breakfast with other guests more the previous morning. Honeymooners might enjoy this option more. We LOVED Savannah! I suggest watching the movie "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" (with Kevin Spacey) before you come. Take a tour of the Bonaventure Cemetery. Understanding some of the people and history makes the city so interesting.

Yelp
The Azeala Inn is the embodiment of Southern Hospitality. It began the moment we booked our room. The Azeala was quick to welcome us and offer personal suggestions from Mike and Teresa that ensured we got the most out of our Savannah get away. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a glass of Miss Ebony's sweet tea, which was utterly divine. Be sure to ask about the murals in the formal dining room. It was one of the many unique treasures we uncovered during our stay. Shrimp and grits made with whole cream were one of the many treats we enjoyed. We loved the quiet courtyard pool to recharge for Savannah's nightlife. We could not have picked a better place to spend our ten-year anniversary. The Azeala's southern charm, history, and art set the tone for our incredible Savannah adventure.

Yelp
We had not stayed in a B&B before and were a little nervous. The Azalea has turned us into a couple that will search out a B&B from now on. The welcoming spirit from all you encounter to the beautiful details in everything made this stay wonderful. The snacks and breakfast provided we're scrumptious. They have wine, sherry, soda, water, coffee, hot tea, and sweet tea 24 hours. Our bed was so comfortable and cozy. We stayed in the Sweet Olive room and totally recommend it. It was a easy to Forsyth Park. We love the Azalea Inn!

Yelp
This place is great. We stayed in the Wisteria Cottage 1st floor. I would highly recommend these accommodations. Private area by the pool. Whirlpool tub with rain shower. Very comfy bedding and your own kitchen and sitting area. They serve you breakfast and its wonderful. Accommodations were made for my nut allergy, and the food was phenomenal (photos attached). Great staff, great rooms, great food, just a great place. five stars!!

Yelp
My wife and I spent four night here and loved the whole experience! The owner, she wears many hats, made us feel very welcomed and we felt that we were friends immediately, because I believe we were! We will be back for sure!! Noel, the chef, was great and the food was delicious! The whole staff was super friendly, the definition of southern hospitality!!

Yelp
Incredible old house with full of history ... community style breakfast is very nice. Rooms are very cosy. As it is a old house some noise from other rooms but it is part of the charm and adventure ! Ah and it is not haunted tho !

Yelp
We stayed in the Gentleman's suite, you should know it is much smaller than depicted on their website pic. It is also located immediately adjacent to the front door (maybe 5' away) and dining/kitchen area. If you are a light sleeper be prepared to wake up when a cook gets in and food starts smelling (about 6am). Their breakfast was so-so. Bedding was excellent. They sell you their sheets, and we bought a set (we don't typically do that). It is located in the best area in historic district. I would not recommend staying on or around Bay street, what a dump. Azalea is right next to the Forsyth Park and the Monterey square, the best and most beautiful areas in Savannah. We highly recommend the place.

Yelp
Inn was nice but I was turned off by the rather large portrait with a big Confederate on it located right in the dining room. I think out of respect for the guests this could come down. Also, I thought both of the Cleaning Ladies were rather rude. The Owners and Shelby were nice but I was rather put off by the Confederate Flag and won't be spending money here in the future.

Yelp
GORGEOUS place and AMAZING hospitality!! What more could you want?! Have been recommending this place for visitors for years and every single one of them have loved it. The awesome pool, homemade breakfasts, and cocktail hours are icing on the .

Yelp
My first visit to the Azalea Inn and Gardens was Labor Day weekend 2009 when my sister and 3 Wonderful friends surprised me for a getaway weekend before I got married... we were there 3 nights.. Thursday-Saturday nite.. Teresa and her staff were SO friendly.. made us feel at home from the minute we walked in.. Yes the free parking is definitely a bonus.. I stayed at first in the Live Oak Room.. HIGHLY recommended (King Room) The Bathroom is awesome! The Breakfasts were lovely..very different every morning with a full pot of coffee ready for us when we awoke! Yes Joey the house Yorkie is a cutie pie (and I'm not a dog person by nature) Then, 3 weeks later.. my now husband and I stopped on over to Savannah on our 'honeymoon'. We of course stayed there again, this time in the Carriage house on the 2nd floor. It was just a queen but very lovely.. The bathroom awesome again.. (I love cool bathrooms) I got a glimpse of the Suite on the first floor of the Carriage house.. If you are on your honeymoon DEFINITELY request the first floor of the Carriage House.. GORGEOUS.. Hot Tub... huge.. very private... All in all a Wonderful experience - I will definitely be returning when I visit Savannah again!!!

Yelp
Had a lovely time here. Teresa and Maria were gracious hosts. Gorgeous furniture, wood floors, and just a couple of blocks from Forsyth park. The food was amazing and tailored to our preferences. I highly recommend this inn.

Yelp
Love this hotel so much. My husband and I stay here every time we come to Savannah. Staff is wonderful, rooms are beautiful and the breakfast is always delicious. The walls could be thicker lol, but it is a historic home after all. Way more charming than a big box hotel with way more character than the modern hotels in Savannah. Best hotel in Savannah!!

Yelp
I loved staying here. The Azalea Inn staff was extremely accommodating. We stayed two nights in the Garden Cottage suite. Christina and Shannon made my husband, my service dog and me feel so very welcome and pampered. I have Celiac disease, and thus the need for my service dog who sniffs out gluten and gluten-contaminated foods for me. Having made them aware of my condition, Shannon took steps to prepare my breakfast sans gluten. She easily could have made me a gluten-free breakfast different from the breakfast being served to the other guests. But she made the effort to make me the same breakfast, without gluten, so that I didn't feel isolated from others or jealous of what they were eating. This is the socially isolating aspect of having a bad food allergy that you likely wouldn't know unless you suffer from one yourself. The breakfasts were visually beautiful, filling, and delicious. Both my husband, who ate the normal meals, and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals on both days. Shannon said that they try their best to accommodate a wide array of dietary restrictions and make a point to have creative substitutes that are up to the same standard as their regular menu. The first breakfast included a very fluffy omelet along with cheese grits and a non-gluten free muffin. Both the omelet and grits were delicious. Shannon made a point to not use flour in my omelet, like she used in the others. The second day she made a pumpkin pie flavored smoothie that was more like a mousse in texture. We also had strawberry French toast souffle and bacon. I got nervous when I saw the menu, but even though mine looked just as decadent as the others, she assured me that mine was made from tapioca flour instead. My gluten-sniffing service dog indicated that my husband's dish had gluten in it, but gave the all clear for mine. During the evening shift, Christina attended to our every whim. She made a point of leaving out gluten free crackers just for me during the evening wine and cheese social. She was so personable, it was like meeting up with an old college roommate. After hearing about a disappointing dinner in town, she made it her personal mission to find a restaurant willing to make fried green tomatoes without flour for me. Christina called four or five different restaurants on my behalf, without my even asking. well after her shift ended, These are just my personal stories of the care taken by Azalea Inn staff to make their guests feel welcome. The grounds are very pretty, and I wish we had had more time to spend just enjoying this bed and breakfast in addition to Savannah. I really enjoyed how the inn smelled of wood and found myself wanting to breathe in the history. They have a tiny little, yet elegant pool in the courtyard. Our Garden Cottage suite was quite nice, and yes you will be tempted to buy the super soft sheets they use for their beds. You'll appreciate these sheets after a long day wandering among the squares in historic Savannah.

Yelp
Wonderful, private, romantic and so very welcoming. Some fabulous cookies too! In fact we think they may have made a few extra after we raved about them so much!! They also wrote down the recipe for us, now how sweet is that! Great food and friendly, welcoming people all the way around. The charming, brightly planted pool area right outside of the suite was beautiful and both of our rooms were gorgeous. We had booked the suite in advance for when it opened up 2 days into our trip. We're overdue for another!

Yelp
This was my first experience at a bed and breakfast and I must say I couldn't have chose a better place to stay. Very relaxing, guests were so friendly and there was great breakfast conversations. Diane, Lauren, Mike and Teresa were very accomodating. Ms Betty was the sweetest lady ever.

Yelp
I booked my reservation two months in advance for 3 nights during Valentines Day weekend. I am military and I was told that I should have a duty free that weekend. Our schedule had been iffy, so I tried to call the hotel to ask them what could I do if my schedule change, but unfortunately I called the wrong hotel in the process. As fate would have it, a week prior to my mini-vacation I was told that I would have duty on Monday. I tried diligently up until the day before my trip to get that day off (a Monday), but my command told me that I could not put in leave for that time because it was too late. Since it was the day before my tril, I decided to wait to work out the details in person with A Zealand Garden. Once I arrived, I explained my situation (that I wanted to leave a day early) and they seemed uninterested in my issue and told me there was nothing I could do. They also told me that they could not credit me the day because that was a day they could have rented out the room to someone else. Thinking about what I was told, I checked to see what the booking looked like for Monday and how much me leaving a day early would effect their business. After researching, I saw that the majority of bookings for that weekend were checking out on that Sunday, a few rooms were checking out on Monday, and there were no other reservation until that Thursday. This totally discredited what I had been told earlier. Also, I could have brought up the the "Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA)" that protect service members from situations like this one (which Georgia does recognize) but I choose to let it go. I will also be writing the BBB in regards to this matter.

Yelp
If I could, I would give this place 4.5 stars. We stayed here from the 30th of December through January 2, 2009-2010 in the Gentleman's Parlor. Our room was small, but very sweet and romantic. There's a working fireplace, which we used all the time. The only negative things I would say about this room is that there is a serious lack of closet and drawer space, and since the porch is right off this room and across the hall from the sitting room, there's a lot of noise at times. You can always hear people at breakfast, talking in the sitting room, hanging out on the porch, etc. I was always worried about speaking too loudly inside our room. Other than that, our visit was amazing. The breakfasts were always hearty and extremely creative...way beyond the usual eggs and bacon fare at some other places. Wine and cheese at 5pm was always fun. They always laid out a spread of different crackers, a few different cheeses, and then an additional items. Chicken herb dip, brie, walnut spread, etc were some of these. We really enjoyed talking to other guests at these gatherings. Everyone was always very nice and lots of fun to talk to. When we came home every evening, there was a dessert in the dining room for us to take to our room. They were always delicious! I could definitely get used to people leaving me fresh-baked dessert. The staff and Theresa were always helpful and sweet. They were always willing to make reservations or any recommendations for tours and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider staying here again.

Yelp
This is a romantic B&B in the Forsyth Park area. It is about a 20 minute walk to the river. In October we paid a bit over 200.00 for a room. It was very cozy and had a deck that overlooked the pool. If you stay in the Sweet Olive be forewarned that the bathroom is very small and the bed is noisy. With your room comes a wine and cheese happy hour and breakfast. Another plus is the parking is included, unlike most of the hotels in the area. The place is well appointed and look for some surprises in the murals on the dining room walls. A small terrier named Joey will also be there to great you and look sad until you give him a taste of what you are eating.

Yelp
Let me just put the bottom line up top... Stay at this wonderful bed and breakfast. My wife and I decided to get married in Savannah and did a lot of research before choosing. We settled on the Azalea Inn and what a great choice it was! We were greeted upon check-in by Kolin. He and Kimberly were the two employees that we had daily interaction with. Both of them are the best! Courteous, knowledgeable and willing to do anything within their power to make our stay pleasant. We had a total of 8 people staying there for our wedding and each of us were equally impressed. Everything was taken care of for the wedding from the flowers to the officiant. Kolin even baked our wedding cake! Each morning, we had a delicious breakfast (Kimberly is a chef and Kolin is a pastry chef). In the late afternoon, there was complimentary wine and cheese/crackers. Later on in the evening, there was a freshly baked pastry which was equally delicious. The entire inn is beautiful and the grounds are well kept. I could go on and on but I think you get the point. This place is #1 in our book and we plan on going back next year to celebrate our anniversary,

Yelp
Overall this place is quaint, welcoming and comfy. Breakfast was decent and late night snacks were a great treat. However, we were asked what time we wanted breakfast? One of our options was 10 a.m. That's the one we chose, we're night owls, we're on vacation, we like to sleep, lol. WHY ON GODS GREEN EARTH??, would housekeeping bang on our door at 9:15 and wake us up to ask if "we needed anything?" I NEED YOU TO NOT WAKE ME UP EARLY ON MY VACATION! After breakfast we went to explore the city for hours. Upon our return, we soon realized that no one came to clean the room, bring towels, empty trash, etc. This is no cheap place to stay, but it started to feel that way. Wanted ice at midnight, someone turned the ice maker off? Oh well. Will stay on the river next time.

Yelp
Best B&B we have ever been to! The staff is fantastic! Don't even think of eating breakfast anywhere else either! My wife is allergic to eggs-so they made her something else. They asked what we wanted to do or eat and then made all of the arrangements and reservations. Teresa (owner) is wonderful and gracious and very knowledgeable about Savannah. The Azalea is well positioned to take advantage for walks in the many parks. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. The balconies are perfect. You really can't find better-this place is the best! Veteran owned. Very well maintained. We will never stay anywhere else when we return to Savannah.

Yelp
We were traveling from FL up to RI and luckily stopped here for the night. What a find! The accommodations in this 1845 Victorian home were impeccable. The bed which I normally find either too soft or too firm was perfect! The hosts were very nice and informative about the property. Since we travel every year from FL to RI we will make sure this is our "go to" place when we stop in Savannah

Yelp
As soon as we walked in Joey welcomed us and made us feel right at home. We were shown around the beautiful inn and taken to our room (Magnolia) where a basket of goodies and chocolate covered strawberries were waiting for us. It couldn't have been better. We were on the back of the house and had a nice little balcony where we could sit out, look over the backyard and pool, enjoy the breeze and have some wine. The inn was nestled in a quiet corner of the Forsyth Park area, and was the perfect getaway from our everyday lives in Baltimore. Breakfast. Was. Phenomenal! Theresa and her staff prepared a delicious spread both mornings we were there that coated our palettes for the rest that Savannah had to offer. She was the perfect hostess! When we returned in the evening, we found wine and hors oeuvres waiting... even better, a tasty dessert was put out each night for the late-night snackers. I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Overall not very satisfied with our stay. Water in the showers would only get to warm not hot, lots of road traffic affecting sleep, apple core left in room from previous guest, neighborhood less than optimal in comparison to other higher priced lodging in Savannah. Very friendly staff. Not a bad place but more of three star hotel at five star price.

Yelp
(April 7th-13th, 2012) We moved along to our next stay in our B&B hop. We drove up to a wonderful and quaint little yellow house with spring time beginning to bloom and the smells of Jasmine coming from the lush vines. As you open the door you see a long hall with dark woods and rooms with old world charm. Exploring further into the house you are greeted by the friendliest bell hop on four legs; Joey. Now, he can't do a whole lot of heavy lifting, well no lifting in fact, but he can follow you to your room and see that you get to your destination just fine. For the majority of the week we stayed at in the Cotton Exchange room. This room was just wonderfully laid out with everything thought of and thought through. It is wonderfully decorated in that old world charm with new world flare. You also have access to the pool area from a slide glass door, with your own personal two seat deck, or you can continue on down to the pool area and sit at the table or enjoy the cool waters. Since, Savannah was enjoying a nice cool snap the week we were there the pool was a bit chilly for a dip. So, we didn't use the pool area. Although, while the misses was taking an afternoon nap one day, I did venture down to the table and do some Savannah research on my tablet. The waterfall tub in our room was enjoyed every night while we watched movies from a wall mounted and movable flat screen before heading off to slumber land. The bed was very comfortable and my wife was raving about the extremely comfortable sheets; she was in love with them. As a side note, these sheets are only available to B&B's, hotels, and Inns. They are not available for sale from the public, but you could buy at set here if you wanted. The downside to this room was so minimal that it really didn't matter and/or effect our stay. When we turned on the fan over the bed at a medium or high speed it would have this horrible high noise that you get from ceiling fans that are either going bad or badly wired. So, we would leave it on the lowest setting and in turn told the owner about it. She said they would replace it immediately. Another issue was more cosmetic, and that was the tile in the bathroom. Obviously, they get a lot of traffic so the spot in front of the shower/sink/toilet was very warn to the point that the grout was breaking up, and a tile or two were loose. The other small issue was the gas fireplace, because it is on a timer ignition the gas is always on. So, when you walk into the room you get that rotten egg smell from that is injected into residential natural gas. This is nothing that can't be taken care of by a few circulating fans, an open sliding door, or a few scented candles to set the mood right. Oh and for the people with allergies, check the pillows before you get set in the room and/or go to bed. You may want to ask for new pillows because within the cotton pillows were a set of down pills as to which my wife is allergic to. Nothing that we couldn't have the front desk take care of. We also had our final night stay in the Chinaberry Balcony room. Again this room was just wonderful, with balcony access for anyone looking for a spot to do some reading to enjoy Savannah's spring time breeze and sun. This room is located on the second floor in the front part of the house. The balcony area is the roof to the front porch. Now, the food was just outstanding. Every day they had a pastry, baked goods, or small treat of some kind sitting out all day that you could snack on; cookies, lemon cake, fruit parfait shots, fudge brownies, etc. They would post a daily menu that was would be breakfast in the morning, and every morning we had something new and wonderful for the week that we stayed there. Coffee is a must in the morning for me, but if you like orange juice or cranberry juice that was available. They even had the combo of the two that the house called Savannah Sunrise that was a wonderful morning treat with breakfast. Conversation was a plenty for the week that we stayed. With the ins and outs of our fellow guests, conversation was always pleasant and informative of their adventures through town. Everyone that I ran into on staff was friendly and was able to answer any questions I had from the Owner of the property, to the chef's in the kitchen, to the lady or gentleman sitting at the check-in desk; even little Joey would check on us from time to time to see that we were happy and well taken care of, because he knew we need to get our puppy fix. He is always more than willing to sit in your lap, on the floor, or roll over on his back to get a bell rub for your convenience. With all that there is to do, see, and soak in, the next time our travels come through savannah we will definitely be putting Azalea's at the top of the list.

Yelp
I loved this place! We stayed here after purchasing a Living Social Escape. It included a gourmet basket, breakfast, and chocolate covered strawberries. We stayed for two nights. It was very cozy. The beds and sheets were EXTREMELY comfortable. They even sell them. The breakfasts were amazing! Three courses and very creative (the sweet potato hash was delicious!). I do not eat gluten or dairy so they accommodated a special menu for me which was much appreciated. The owner and staff were very kind and friendly. They had a wine and cheese happy hour every night and also a freshly prepared dessert. They gave us a $50 gift card to come back and, I hope we can!

Yelp
We really enjoyed our stay at Azalea Inn and Gardens! Teresa was an excellent hostess; the entire staff was wonderful. I'm a vegetarian, and my "special" breakfasts were perfect. It's the little touches that make a great B&B, and this one has all the right ones!

Yelp
My husband and I recently stayed at this B&B over the Veteran's day weekend. Not only did this establishment offer rooms for free to military active duty and veterans, but they offered an incredible buffet and delicious breakfast to their guests. This home is warm, inviting, elegant and run by a superb staff. They gave us a map filled with places to go get after dinner drinks and were beyond accommodating to our needs. The rooms were spacious; complete with fireplaces and the beds were from heaven! This experience was delightful and we are so thankful for Azalea Inn's generosity to servicemen. Thank you!

Yelp
We chose Savannah to celebrate our wedding anniversary, but choosing the Azalea Inn & Gardens made our trip truly unforgettable! We are from the South and accustomed to Southern hospitality, but Teresa and her wonderful staff take hospitality and charm to a new level! We booked the Magnolia suite with a lovely private balcony overlooking the pool and gardens, and, when we chose to extend our stay an extra day, we were blessed to experience the luxurious vacation cottage! NO detail is overlooked, from honoring our anniversary to trip planning assistance, scrumptious breakfasts to evening wine and appetizers, even creamed sherry before bed! Teresa is a fabulous host and she has true gems in Diane and Shannon. We arrived as new friends and left feeling like family. We've only been home a week and already hope to return in the fall.

Yelp
This was my first stay at a B&B and I am so glad we chose the Azalea Inn. First, the location. Located in the historic district of Savannah, it's only a couple of blocks from Forsyth Park and within walking distance of Mrs Wilkes, even on a hot humid day. Being that it's pretty much centrally located in the city, it's a very short trip pretty much everywhere. Also there is plenty of free parking for the Inn, which is very nice to have in this city. The Inn itself is beautiful. The landscaping is very nicely done and makes it that much more welcoming. When you first walk up to front door you can see and feel the history. The dining room is beautiful with a mural painted on the walls basically explaining the history. Our room (Magnolia Place I believe it was called) was very comfortable and private. You can hear other people entering and exiting their rooms but I never once heard people while in their rooms. The bed was very comfortable and even with the problems that both myself and my wife have with our backs, we never once were sore or in pain by morning. There were also plenty of pillows of varying loft and fill which I was so happy to find. We always bring our own pillows were we go and neither of us had a need to even bring our pillows in to the room. The bathroom was very nice, well lit, but rather small. But you also have to keep in mind that this is a historic house that wasn't originally designed to have bathrooms in every room. Also, some of the nicer rooms obviously have more space. We only stayed for just shy of a week, and the closet and drawer space were more than plenty for myself and my wife. The towels were nice and soft and the robes were a very nice touch. The room also has it's own working fireplace, but being our stay was the first week of August, we didn't have a use for it. There is also a porch that faces the pool accessible from this room. Once again, being how hot and humid it was during our stay, we spent little time out there. But what time we did spend out there was relaxing. The door/window alone leading out to porch was very quaint and the reasoning for its design was very interesting. The back of the inn and pool area is once again, very nicely landscaped. The pool was perfect addition as we used it pretty much every day during our stay. My only complaint would be the mosquitoes, but I can't hold that against the inn of course. There were always dry, clean towels available poolside as well. Breakfast was outstanding every single day and we were always asked if we had enough, and it always was the perfect amount of food. I really enjoyed that fact that it was also well balanced with fruit almost every day along with breakfast. Also the cheeses and other finger foods at 5pm along with wine were very tasty. And once again, the nice little sweet treats placed in the dining area at night were also fantastic. One night we had what I believe was a coconut macaroon with drizzled with chocolate. I really don't care for coconut but they were outstanding! Last but not least...the staff. Everyone there did everything they could to be sure our stay was wonderful and they succeeded and went beyond our expectations. The stories and how friendly they all were made for such a delightful and relaxing stay. We even received a special treat in our room to congratulate us on our wedding. Even Joey and Max, the inn dog and cat were great. Each with their own special personality. Erica and I are more then happy that we chose Azalea Inn for our honeymoon stay in Savannah. It was my first time in Savannah and I guarantee you this will not be my last time for either the city, or the Inn.

Yelp
Just got back to CT from the Azalea Inn in Savannah. What a charming and lovely city made only better by the staff at the Azalea Inn. We stayed in the Gentlemen's Parlor on the first floor. Even though it is close to the front door facing the street, we were never bothered by any loud noises. Loved the power station for my electronic devices. The room was very comfortable. The breakfasts were good, eaten at a table for 12 in the dining room with historical murals painted on the walls by SCAD students. We were given great restaurant tips...the innkeeper and staff could not have been more accommodating (Theresa, Shannon, Alison). Cheese/wine were served everyday at 5:00 and desserts awaited us at the end of every day. Will definitely recommend to anyone interested. Oh, and they have parking!
