From the very moment we arrived, the resort unfolded before us like a hidden gem. Yet, as stunning as the resort was, what truly defined our experience were the people. The staff offered a warm welcome that instantly made us feel at home. Every member of the team, from the front desk to the housekeeping crew, was unfailingly friendly and attentive. Their genuine smiles and cheerful greetings brightened our days and created an atmosphere of ease. What set this place apart was how the staff consistently went the extra mile to assist. ||The resident hippos and warthogs are an extra highlight.

What a fantastic place to stay on the Zambezi river. Resident warthogs, hippos & baboons makes it special. So do the awesome staff like Babra & Americano who looked after us for six days. Pool is always ready for a dip & the food from breakfast to dinner was so good. Thank you A’Zambezi River Lodge for making our stay at Victoria Falls so memorable.

If you want to do the 3 countries (Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana), A’Zambezi is the best place to stay! You’re not far from any border — about an hour to Botswana and under 30 minutes to Zambia. The countries here live in harmony with the wildlife, so don’t be surprised if you see elephants or even hippos wandering inside the resort at night. 🐘🦛✨ For rooms, if it’s not fully booked, I highly recommend asking for one facing the river — the view is magical. And the staff? Simply the best ever. 💯

Love the location on the river with the shuttle bus making it easy to get to town and the falls. Great facilities and restaurant. Seeing wildlife around the hotel grounds was a highlight. Would be happy to stay there in future if lucky enough to return some day.

This was not our hotel choice, is was part of a tour. We would not recommend it, due to poor service and distance to town. The rooms are comfortable and clean, there is a pool and river views however the service in the restaurant is lacking and the prices should offer better. I have a food allergy so I specifically spoke to the waiter, showed a photo of the food but still got my meal with the food I cannot eat. The food is average, we order à la carte, pumpkin soup was tasteless with no depth of favour and the meals all look like the cookie cutter approach, same vegetable just different protein. You cannot charge to your room without them charging $50 or $100 USD to your card up front. The staff were very pushy when it came to asking about a wine list, they couldn’t produce one and verbal told us what they had an expected us to order based on that. Breakfast was slow, it took at least 20 minutes to get a tea/coffee and I had to hunt down cutlery. They do have a shuttle service, however it only starts at 9:05am and the last bus is 4:50pm so you can not enjoy a night in town unless you have your own transport or get a taxi. Overall the service and food needs to improve.

Great location with open view to water hole that animals frequent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Amenities good, safaris available at reasonable cost with our knowledgeable driver Blessing exceptional. Good bar and kitchen variety and happy staff. Highly recommended.

Beautiful place. The room was clean but very cramped. The food was good, however, as the chef told me their meat is not aged. It is fresh and will be tougher than Americans are used to. The sunset was beautiful and the staff were nice. The service was slow, but I guess it's probably like in Mexico. They have their only time/pace in Africa.

After a long overland tour from Cape Town we arrived in Victoria Falls. We planned a couple of rest days here before heading back to game parks in South Africa. Instead of staying in town we thought a couple of nights on the the river would be nice. That was the theory but perhaps it was flawed. The Zambezi River is beautiful and our sunset cruise was a lovely memorable evening. Unfortunately the hotel was disappointing. Our room was neat and tidy, with a bath and a shower with good water pressure and temperature, and a comfortable queen sized bed. However it was quite small and devoid of any touches of character or African charm. Aside from the mosquito nets we could have been in a city hotel anywhere in the world. The reception staff were helpful and pleasant, but breakfast wait staff were not, apart from a lovely woman managing the egg station. We had to work very hard to get anyone's attention for tea and coffee, and while the restaurant was not busy the tables were not re set, and we had to gather the necessary cutlery etc from other tables. Dinner was also a comedy of errors, and not up to the standard of food available in the town. Such a shame because the location on the river is lovely. Maybe we had been spoilt at previous desert camps and game lodges on our trip. The change generally into Zimbabwe was a downward one. Breakfast did provide some entertainment with cheeky monkeys being held at bay by staff with slingshots, and resident warthogs scavenging on the lawns for their breakfast. The river location is nice but a distance form town. There is a free shuttle but if your plans don't line up with the limited schedule (every two hours) you need to organise your own transport which seemed expensive to us. Overall we were disappointed with our time here after opting to pay extra money ($350 USD per night) for what we assumed would be a significant upgrade to our in town accommodation at the end of our tour.
