Azerbaijan State Museum of Art

Entry is a bit pricey and we waited for more than 10 minutes at the ticket office. There are interesting works. And the contemporary art exhibition about Yudel pen and Yakob Kruger was fantastic.

It is kind of funny how the staff stalks you around and watches your every move but I am used to this as someone who lives in the post-Soviet space regularly. Not the best selection of art, European or local, but it offers a glimpse into many styles and so on so it is not bad by any means. Well worth an hour or so.

Beautiful place. Every room has a different theme. Entrance is 7 manat for locals, 10 manat for foreigners. I think it’s a very good price. We had a great time.

10 AZN entry for foreigners, cash no cc accepted. An extra 2 AZN for a separate short Chinese exhibit. Three floors of art, the bottom floor mostly European artists, Italian and Dutch. Upper floor statues and paintings from local artists mostly from the middle of last century. A number of carpets, various artifacts throughout. I spent a good hour and some there. The building is nice, oddly there didn't seem to be anywhere to sit and ponder some the artwork. The beautiful garden with a fountain adjacent to this building is an excellent place to relax after.

Amazing museum. Loved the art and architecture. Could visit it every day. Highly recommend!

The museum is definitely worth visiting. I’m giving 4 stars only because the employees are rude, follow every step you make and made me feel uncomfortable.

nice art exhibitions, good place to go when it's windy. Only few people here. A thorough visit may cost 3-5 hours.

founded in 1936. it's the largest museum in Baku, featuring works of ancient art from as early as the 4th century. spread across 3 floors, the 3000+ exhibits from Russia, Europe, Persia, China, Turkey, and Japan are all very well presented & maintained. there are several staff members who help at every step & constantly on the lookout for safety concerns due to thefts in the past (albeit this may be an annoyance for a few). entry fee starts as low as 10 mannat, and you may need between 2 to 4 hours to cover the entire space.
