Aziziye Restaurant

We visited this restaurant today and ordered the lamb beyti, lahmachun, and a portion of baklava. The lahmachun was nice and the lamb beyti, though quite expensive and not the biggest portion, was delicious, with a lovely pepper sauce that sets it apart from any other lamb beyti I have tasted. The service was also excellent, providing us with extra yoghurt when requested. However, the baklava was poor. In the portion were 4 very small pieces that were dry and had a bitter taste at the end. I have honestly had better baklava from my local newsagents, and to top this off, it costed us £6.50. In other HMC Turkish restaurants (Hilal, Sultan) they give similar small pieces for free. This was a disappointing end to the meal.

Food was absolutely amazing! I got the jumbo platter and lahmacun, and the only disappointment was at myself and my family for not being able to finish the food in one seating LOL (was given containers to take away). Yilmaz was an amazing host and tended to our every need with utmost care. He gave us complimentary Turkish tea and baklava which was made in-house and not one of of those overly sweet ones that come in a confectionary box. 10/10 service!

Brilliant upstairs atmosphere with loads of cooking happening with the guys! Yilmas our server was so attentive and keep the vibe going. We had the sharing platter, potentially 2-3 people and finished with the classic baklava 😍 which was soo good! Probably one of the best sweet treats on the dalston stokey mile!

The food and atmosphere were fantastic! Yilmaz took great care of us, providing excellent service along with complimentary dessert and Turkish tea. I’d highly recommend visiting this place.

There is simply not enough words to describe my feelings for this place. The food is delicious every time I come here, the service is very polite and timed well, as well as hospitality. The atmosphere is an unbelievable experience for me, the authentic tables, private seating areas are brilliant for anyone who comes here as a couple or a busy family. Definitely would be on the top of the list of places I would advise for people to enjoy their meals.

Amazing food. We had the platter for 2 and the lamb chops were the best, juiciest lamb chops I have ever eaten! My third time here and will definitely be coming back. Our waiter Yilmaz was very hospitable that took his time and was really friendly. Recommend everyone to come here for the best Turkish cuisine.

Food was nice large portions, we ordered the jumbo platter which was plentiful came with starters too , service was ok could’ve been better downside was we were told we could not sit in the booths even though we went at lunch time and there was no rush other then that overall a nice place second time visiting

Came with a hugeee gathering of about 20 people, they were patient and had the best service!!! Gave the little kid a lollypop and just all round friendly and welcoming. Food portions are HUGEEEEE and the Turkish tea is not to be missed!

WHAT a discovery!!! i've found this restaurant while attending an event in a nearby pub a few months ago, but was only able to try it in august. It's a very traditional turkish restaurant INSIDE a mosque! As such you are not allowed to have alcoholic drinks and also you cannot bring alchool inside (i've asked). The service is very friendly, the food is fantastic and the prices are VERY affordable. They also have "walled rooms" with cushions instead of chairs: when i reserved the place they initially offered us this kind of place, but it was a bit uncomfortable so we asked to use table and chairs.

My professor took our class here to experience an authentic Turkish meal. It was a large group of about 30 of us which is understandably challenging to serve. The staff did a good job accommodating such a large group. We started with a naan type bread and a hummus and tzatziki sauce. Our first batch of bread was cold but the second round was warm and delicious. I then had a chicken kebab plate with rice and vegetables. All very delicious! Glad I got lead to an authentic meal. It was a whole experience because you are seated in walled off booths on cushions close to the ground and have to take your shoes off.

This is quite possibly the best place to have a turkish meal in London and until quite recently it was one of the cheapest too. Do no miss their Findik lahmacun or fried mincemeat balls with cheese inside. When you do the booking bear in mind that there are two seating areas. The cabins; which are areas inclosed by a one and a half meters wooden wall where you set on the floor (with some cushions), the other option is normal tables. Also the restuarant is in a mosque so no alcohol is served. Also getting to the restuarant is not easy if you don't know the place, The address is for the mosque with its distinctive blue tiles and shop. next to it (south side) there is an entrance that can fit a car, walk through it and get through the second door to your right.

When I say rubbish service by that I mean tables that came after us were served food first although we ordered before them while they were just bieng seated. When the food eventually arrived 45 mins late, the Lahmachun was cold, the Pide was not only cold but the meat filling was meagre. the Aziziye Special had nothing special about it there wasn't enough for two people. one lamb chop & one skewered kebab is hardly a meal for two!
