Wish they had more options for foods! However, the food they do have was delicious. Everything tasted fresh and amazing. Overall, it was a great experience. Bought sampler apps, meal as dessert. Was enough for the 3 of us and we even took some home.

I had an absolutely incredible experience at this restaurant on my first visit! The food was out of this world—so delicious that every bite was a delight. The service? Simply fantastic! And the music they played created the perfect atmosphere. To top it all off, my passionfruit Mojito was the ideal addition to the meal. The menu was brimming with enticing options, making it a challenge to pick just a few! We decided on the ceviche as an appetizer, and for our main courses, we went for the churrasco and the seafood curry Latino. I can't even express how amazing it was—definitely a whopping 10 stars out of 5! I can't wait to go back again soon!

Google
Awesome experience. Serves a variety of modern Latino cuisine in addition to some Spanish dishes. The decor inside was clearly inspired by Spanish arquitect. Located approximately 10 minutes south of downtown, it’s worth the walk to check this restaurant out.

Tired of predictable food &/or touristy restaurants? Go to Azuca!! 5 minute drive from the Riverwalk and all fresh, creative, divine dishes plus a fantastic drink menu. Divine!

Absolutely exquisite Coconut Curry Seafood… the fragrance alone was divine!

Google
Great food, atmosphere & service! We had a weekend conference in San Antonio & loved this place so much that we came back & enjoyed our second evening here as well! Customer service will make or break an experience & our server, Adrian, was phenomenal! He was helpful, kind, welcoming & knowledgeable. He made the experience! HIGHLY recommend this place and will be visiting again next time we're in San Antonio!

Google
Amazing Amazing cut of steak here, the portions are generous as well and they take rsvp's so a large group of friends and I came by as we were visiting San Antonio.

Google
Food is DELICIOUS. We starded with the ahi crudo and guacamole. For dinner we had the Seafood Curry Latino and the Chicken and Seafood Paella. Both were amazing as was were the drinks. We had the Texas Mule and several Mi Palomas. RUN don't walk to Azucas!

Yelp
Food was great, place is beautiful and cozy and service was really good! We'll be back!

Yelp
It was extremely cold the week we were in San Antonio, so due to the freezing and ice the owner called to make sure we were still coming in for our reservation. We assured him we would be there. We arrived on time and he greeted us at the door and laughingly said our reservation was the only one and reason they stayed open. The service was excellent and the food was unbelievably good and not very expensive for the serving sizes. Some of the best Latin cuisine I have ever had. My Honduran fiancé was very impressed. They have food from many different Latin cultures and a great mix of everything. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Azuca has made some major improvements compared to the last few times I've dined here. It's in a new building now. The service has gotten better compared to the spotty and unpredictable kinds that I've gotten at the old location. Portions have gotten larger to the point where I've had to ask for a to go container. Prices have gotten higher to keep up with inflation. Their menu has changed and they don't have as many items like they used to. I recommend the tostones and the feijoada, which is like a Brazilian version of jambalaya or black beans and rice with pork and sausage. And yes they still serve the same awesome cornbread for a free appetizer like always.

Pam K.

Yelp
Such great food All fresh and tasty Very friendly service Highly recommend Vanilla mojito was so good

Yelp
I was here for a work conference and all I had been having was heavy steak, burgers, and meat tacos for days, so I was craving something lighter and leafier. Azuca Nuevo Latino seemed like it had a good selection of seafood fare, so I dropped by on an unassuming Friday night. It was surprisingly not bustling, but every table was filled. I liked that it had an open-kitchen concept so that you could see the food being prepared right in front of you -- seeing hanging paella pans is always comforting. Because I wanted lighter, I went with two smaller plates instead of a heavier main with fish -- I opted for the spinach, strawberry, goat cheese salad and the ceviche appetizers. Both combined were definitely more than enough for one person. The salad was exactly what I needed -- everything was fresh and light, and the fiber was really doing its job pushing away all of that meat in my body. The ceviche was nice and light, and that citrus really did help cut away the heavyness that I had been feeling for the past few days. As for drinks, their specialty seemed to be mojitos, so I went with the passion fruit variety which was perfectly made. All in all, a positive experience. I would like to come back and try one of their main fish plates, as they all sounded good, but for now, the lighter fare was perfect for what I needed.

Teofila R.

Yelp
The Seafood Curry Latino was delicious. The curry was creamy and flavorful. Seafood was squid, mussels, shrimp , fish, it was all delicious. It has rice too. Service was good. My waiter was very nice. I loved the art on the wall. The music was good. I really enjoyed my dinner.

Nancy T.

Yelp
Great food and service. Very authentic and elevated versions of Latin cuisine at a very good price! Atmosphere is very pleasant. I had the Salmon and have had the churrasco, never disappointed!

Curtis K.

Yelp
The food is always amazing no matter what I have chosen. The hospitality that you get is instant as soon as you walk in the door. Mojitos are probably the best I've ever tasted This is probably one of the best places to take your date or just to get something to eat no matter the occasion

Fred G.

Yelp
Another split review. Great ceveche, nice acid without overpowering the fish and a slight bite from red onions. I'd go back for it. But not for the paella. Never. It looks splendid with a pair of large mussels rising from the pan, but the rice was undercooked and soupy, nary a hint of crust on the bottom or browning of the top. All of the seafood, mussels, clams, calamari, white fish, was overcooked and rubbery, as was the chicken. One of the mussels had not opened during cooking and should have been removed from the pan as a potential health hazard and several of the thin-shelled clams had shattered, leaving sharp shell shards throughout. Zero stars if I had the option.

Sarah P.

Yelp
Don't come here. Keep it a secret. Keep all of the curry seafood just for me. Came here alone at 5 on a Friday. I was hoping for appetizers but couldn't resist the curry. I "wasn't that hungry " but I couldn't put my fork down. So good. Also it's 60+ degrees at 5:30. No snow!

Melanie S.

Yelp
The best happy hour in southtown! They have a number of happy hour small plates for only $4 and an extensive drink menu too. My favorites are the fish tacos and yuca frita. The happy hour is only on the patio but they have outdoor heaters as it gets colder. The service here great too as they are quick and frequently check on you.

Aaron B.

Yelp
Everything about it made it a great dinner date. Exceptional service. Uniquely flavored food and drink which was delicious. A great Latin vibe and atmosphere. If you want something different from the same ol same ol, this is nice. They even made ceviche into this roller coaster ride of flavor and texture. Just perfect. 4.9 stars because the place and everyone in it was next to perfect.

Kasey C.

Yelp
A wonderful Latin gem in San Antonio! Don't let appearances deceive you, the outside of the restaurant doesn't give justice to the delicious food within! If you can't decide on a starter, I highly recommend the appetizer sampler which provided an awesome array complete with servings of ceviche, jerk chicken, sausage, shrimp, and tostones. Personally I got the paella for my entree and it was one of the best I'd ever had. Don't be afraid to try something new, I usually don't go for Latin American food but I promise this place is worth a try. Staff was super friendly and food preparation was top notch. We went on a Saturday night and were invited to stay or come back later for salsa dancing!

Sara B.

Yelp
Don't let the road works put you off GO ! Delicious food, good service at a great price. We were in town for a few days and ate here twice . The tuna was outstanding and beautifully presented and my husband loved his trout .

Shawn O.

Yelp
Looking for a solid Cuban option in downtown San Antonio? Check out Azuca Nuevo! Enjoyed a delicious dinner with coworkers, starting with appetizers. The dining room was nice, the music was lively, the service was good and the food was delicious! Ordered the Ropa Vieja dinner which was really good! One of my coworkers ordered the Piaya and really enjoyed it. This is definitely a place I'd visit again when in San Antonio.

Caryn K.

Yelp
I came upon this restaurant while walking around the Southtown area and it did not disappoint! We were able to easily get a seat and the staff was knowledgeable. Everything from the appetizers to the drinks to the main dishes were delicious! The Mojitos and main course were my favorites, but that is primarily because I'm not big on seafood. The pasta dish, might just have been the best pasta I've had in San Antonio. I loved the spice level...it was enough to give you a little bit of an urge to grab your drink, but not too much to where you broke a sweat They have quite the assortment of items on their menu and I'm already planning when I'll return to try out some of the others. I definitely recommend you check this restaurant out if you have the chance!

Courtenay H.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant in Southtown! What a gem this place is!! They master fresh, vibrant, and delicious dishes. The mojitos are fun and tasty. The food is to die for. If you're dining with a group, definitely try the appetizer sampler and/or the dessert sampler. I'm sure you won't regret stopping in!

Krista C.

Yelp
Tasty latin dishes with good atmosphere. Would highly recommend getting the tostones and arepa. For our main, I actually split the seafood curry with my husband which was plenty of food for two if you also order apps. Our friends also split the seafood paella which was very tasty, but the spice of the curry was even better!

Don E.

Yelp
This place was disappointing, it had decent reviews so I figured it must be good. I was looking for some paella and this place came up as a top rated spot. I ordered the paella and steak. The steak was dry and over cooked. The paella was just poor quality. I recommend toro if you're looking for paella. The service was pretty bad as well. We sat on the patio and the patio was nice but the food and service was pretty horrible. Definitely try it out but be ready for disappointment

Ivy O.

Yelp
The food was delicious. Tried the fish tacos, ahi appetizer and ceviche. The bartender also makes a decent cocktail. The building had a historic vibe and loved that the kitchen area is open to watch the cooks crafting meals. The outside dining area was spacious, however, the weather was a bit too warm to enjoy the space. Would def come back.

Alejandra E.

Yelp
The Churrasco and paella were both delicious! The service was good and they have their own parking lot. We will definitely be back soon.

Josh T.

Yelp
We are currently back at Azuca for the second time and we love it! Great drinks at reasonable prices, excellent food and wonderful service! We always get the different flavors of mojitos. Highly recommend checking it out and we will be back for some salsa/bachata/merengue dancing tonight!!!

Acen V.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem for sure! Very welcoming atmosphere. Amazing service. Great drinks. Fresh Latin Food!!

Sarah W.

Yelp
So impressed by the food deliciousness and quality, especially at their price point. Shared an appetizer, salad, and paella with a friend. It was way more than the two of could finish and with 3 drinks it came out to $80. With an awareness of my inflated dining cost expectations, it was all around great!

Lizette L.

Yelp
Food was amazing drinks too, also the atmosphere awesome. We had a wonderful time. And the staff is really friendly and courteous. And after 10pm . The Music is very diverse and fun. We have a wonderful time.

Beatriz H.

Yelp
Food is always great, my favorite dish is the Seafood Curry Latino and you can't leave the restaurant without trying the Elote bread !!!!! Service is always great...overall experience is always pleasant.

Brandy G.

Yelp
Azuca is one of my favorite restaurants in San Antonio and is perfect for lunch and dinner. My most recent experience came right before the coronavirus pandemic locked down everyone but if there was someplace I could have chosen to be my last dine-in experience before quarantine, I'm glad I unknowingly picked Azuca! The menu at Azuca provides the diner a culinary tour of Latin and Central and South American cuisines. When you walk in you can't help but smile at the lively Salsa music playing in the background, the bright red walls, and the larger than life paintings adorning nearly every inch of the walls. Service is always fast, friendly, and done with a smile by the Azuca staff. Now for the food-Azuca has my absolute favorite tortilla soup to get anywhere in the city. It's simple but so delicious in its fresh ingredients and simplicity. Their tres leches cake is also one of my most favorite to order anywhere in San Antonio. For the entree, I tend to always come back to their beef churassco. Their home made chimichurri always gives it an extra kick and I always end up scraping my plate clean of meat, veggies, and everything in between. And don't forget to request a side of their famous cornbread! I look forward to enjoying the atmosphere and culinary offerings that Azuca has to offer once again soon!

Paul L.

Yelp
They are back to spamming me All in all, I rate this as a negative experience

Lee B.

Yelp
So good! We had the pepita goat cheese salad with shrimp and seed crusted ahi. Beautiful presentation. Delicious. The mojitos were stellar - coconut mojito and mango mojitos went down too easy. And they have a dessert sampler which was ridiculous - huge portions and so good - truffles and tres leches were the best.

Andrea S.

Yelp
This place is amazing! The food, service, ambiance- it's all the good things. I can't complain about anything - I just wish there was live music. Other than that- PERFECT! If I lived here I'd be a regular for sure!!

Austen A.

Yelp
We came here last minute after having an unfortunate experience down the road at Tycoon Flats. This was a part of our Valentines weekend experience. My gf has some childhood memories associated with the place, and she even remembered the unique ambiance of the glass artworks hanging, created just next door at a local glass blower shop. The music was fun, the server was quick and friendly, and the food was delicious. We both had the same dish, the Pasta Frontera with Shrimp. Absolutely delicious. The sauce they used was the perfect amount of spicy for those who enjoy that sort of flavor. If you are sensitive, maybe avoid that dish. If not, you're in for a treat. I would come back again for that same dish alone.

Alan J.

Yelp
If I could give this place 10 stars I would. We were referred to this restaurant by a coworker and brought a party of 10. You're able to make reservations online for same day dining which is a great plus. The customer service is outstanding, Norma was a great host, sever, and I believe she's the owner. The ambiance is great, you hardly even notice or hear that the kitchen is in the same dining area. Huge patio area for out door seating and the food had great authentic flavors. All 9 of my guests loved their dishes and the presentation of the food was high quality. I recommend the Seafood Curry, lots of seafood, pineapple rice, and a huge serving.

Preston T.

Yelp
Azusa Nueva Latino has the best Latin American food I've had in a very long time. My wife has the Paella and absolutely loved it. I had the tropical Mahi Mahi... and man... was it delicious. We also has the Tostones with MOJO, which were a delicious platain and garlic masterpiece. Finally, for dessert, we had the Coconut Flan. It was the perfect top off to a meal that brought a smile to my whole families faces.

Yelp
Eating doesn't get better than this. Neither does drinking. * * * Azuca is a fusion Latin American from all over the place restaurant, heavy on the meat. They got vegetables and fish ... But grilling stuff up with chimichurri on top is what they like to do. Ceviche and raw fish ceviche alternatives are also what they like to do. Do what they like to do. It will make you happy. * * * I had a mixed parillada. My wife had a grilled fish. We both had started with a wonderful tuna crudo. Her grilled fish was about the size of Venezuela. I had a butcher shop's worth of superb mixed meat in front of me. There were plenty of magnificently charred vegetables to go with both plates. Both wife and I were insanely happy. * * * As good as all of this was, What to me is legendary is the bar. My wife who is not much of a drinker went with the house custom sangria. It's as if the house knew exactly what she wanted. Even though there were all sorts of liqueurs laced through the wine and the fruit, And even though my wife, who loved the sangria, went through the whole carafe - The alcohol had a very light touch. She was at best mildly relaxed - which was just where she wanted to be. I am more of a serious drinker ... And the house mojitos totally spoke to me. They make between fifteen and twenty different kinds of mojitos. And mojito is not an empty name referring to generic cocktails. Everything had rum, lime and mint the way mojitos are supposed to have rum lime and mint. Yet everything tasted completely different. Of particular note was an "electric" mojito with blue curacao. Curacao usually dooms a cocktail. (Hello blue and sicky sweet). Azuca's electric mojito was probably one of the best tasting mixed drinks I had had in months. I am not entirely sure how all that curacao got cut - but it got cut magnificently. Impressed by the bar - I then decided to do the impossible. There is a VANILLA mojito on the menu. I have never never in my life had a successful vanilla drink. I have tried ... Oh Lord I have tried. I have even gone with the home-made infused vanilla vodka at Russian House in Austin - which does some of the finest infused vodkas in the world. Nothing works. The Vanilla Mojito at Azuca really IS the Holy Grail of All Vanilla drinks. It is warm and savory the way a Vanilla drink ought to be. The mint and the lime made the drink refreshing the way a Vanilla drink NEVER is. I sat marveling at that cocktail for the rest of the night. * * * I should probably also mention that Azuca's room is an enormously pleasant place to spend some time. They play a sophisticated mix of Latin Jazz and old style dance music in the background. Service is absolutely what you want things to be. As soon as you need something, someone is there for you. But otherwise you are left alone to enjoy the pleasures of your food and your company. The owner is a charmer. * * * Altogether Azuca goes on my list of absolutely top tier eating and drinking establishments.

Sarah M.

Yelp
This restaurant lived up to and exceeded my expectations. The food was fresh and good, service was great and friendly. It was a wonderful birthday dinner with a friend. I can't wait to come back when there's live music!

Giulia O.

Yelp
My husband and I tried this place out for the first time for a date night and loved it! It's a little hole in the wall that is filled with so much character. You walk in and you feel like you're going to dinner at a families house - everyone is so friendly and the food was delicious! We can't wait to come back when the weather is nicer and enjoy the patio seating!

Alisa C.

Yelp
Everything was delicious and looked great (food and drinks). Love this place. Been here a few times and it's always amazing. Stellar staff, food, and ambiance. We got free mangojitos after dinner due to a cancelled third round from another table that was already made. Side note: had my moving dolly stolen from the truck during the wonderful dinner. Nothing was broken into, but still...capping the evening off with theft isn't the goal. The extra drink helped. - Details of the food - Drinks: I got the Caipirinha and it was really good. I've also had their original mojito and mangojito and they've all been very well made. Meal: I got the Trout a la Talla as is and my father got the Tejas Salmon as is (which happened to be served with peas instead of corn that night.) Both of us loved our food. We both noted that our filets were over cooked - I say this as a chef. BUT BBUUUT...they were hecken flavorful and everything else was on point. I ate all but the tail fin. Dessert: Tropical Fruit Brûlée. This was the first thing I had at Azuca a decade ago and it stuck with me ever since. One day I'll try the other things...one day... Only reason it's 4 stars and not 5 is Bc of the stolen dolly. ‍

David C.

Yelp
The food, service and ambiance were all very good on a Saturday evening. All the food was excellent including the appetizers, main dishes and the desserts. The taste of all items were excellent and all nicely presented. We will want to come back again.

Steven S.

Yelp
The restraunt had music and was nice inside with beautiful art. We originally wanted to sit outside but got a huge ugly smell of garbage from the trash dumpsters coming from the parking area. The drinks were great, and the food was good after being sent back because the waitress didn't tell the cooks how we had requested it to be prepared. Our server was very rude and continually rolled her eyes and ignored our table the whole time. We had planned a meal with a friend on her birthday that turned out terrible. Our server actually followed us to our vehicle and complained about the tip. Awkward and I won't be going back.

Sebastian O.

Yelp
Keep going back! I love the yuca! Had the chorizo and it was the perfect amount t of spice!

Chrome G.

Yelp
Good food! Customer service is always good. The food does not take forever and you will leave full and happy.

Michaela P.

Yelp
Stopped in for dinner with some co-workers. Nice to see a few other patrons. Upgrading to 5 stars. Food. Drinks. Service. Ambiance. Location. Patio. Azuca has it all. Co-workers were impressed. Likely my fave restaurant in SATX.

Jess L.

Yelp
Had an amazing dinner and great service. The mojitios are amazing and fresh!! We got the salmon, seafood cutty and paella. Tons of food bjg plates. But the food was amazing. Will be back again

Rand R.

Yelp
We had a great first time at this restaurant. The food taste and presentation were first class. Norma waited on us and she was a saint. Told us all about the neighborhood. We will definitely be back again!

Rumit P.

Yelp
My friend and I had a great dinner here last night. This restaurant is a short walk from the main downtown area, just south of Cesar Chavez Boulevard. The restaurant is big, has a beautiful large patio in the back that wraps around to the side of the building, and a large bar and interior dining area. We were immediately enthusiastically greeted by the bartender and by another staff member, which was really nice. We asked to sit in the patio, and our request was accommodated. The drinks were only $7.25 each: one guava mojito and one prickly pear mojito. Both mojitos tasted refreshing, sweet, cold, and delicious. We didn't detect any obvious traces of alcohol though. We ordered guacamole as an appetizer. It was not made at the table but was delivered quickly and presented interestingly on the plate. The guacamole was very creamy, fresh, green, and had a great flavor. I ordered the double chicken breast with chimichurri sauce. There wasn't enough chimichurri sauce on each breast, but apart from that, the chicken tasted fresh, was seasoned well, and had a great taste. The mashed potatoes were not very buttery or tasty and felt like they were made from a pouch. Instead of veggies, I went unhealthy! I ordered tostones instead, which were a $4 upcharge. The tostones tasted like the best tostones I've ever had, no joke. My friend ordered the seafood platter, which tasted delicious and fresh, and was a huge portion size. The waiter service was consistent and amicable. We'd return if we were in the area again!

David C.

Yelp
Nice addition to the San Antonio variety. It's not cuban it's mixed Latin American type food. Not sure the background of the restaurant but the food was unique and tasty. Lots of spices you wouldn't expect in Caribbean dishes or Mexican dishes and crossed over in a good way. Cuban sandwich, vaca frita , mofongo and tacos Playing salsa and merengue and other Caribbean favorites.

Yolanda B.

Yelp
Thoroughly enjoyed our first experience at Azuca Nuevo Latino! The three of us sat on the patio on 8Oct for happy hour. We were the first there and walked around to check out the place. The chefs were very nice and welcoming. Everyone was so helpful. Our waiter on the patio was pretty cool and very attentive. We ordered multiple dishes for the table from the happy hour menu. Flavorful!! The amarillo, chicharron, fish taco, jerk chicken, and mojitos were our favorites. We look forward to going back again.

Tzook R.

Yelp
Pisci Sour... served non-standard, but DAMN GOOD!!! Simply killer. Ceviche app was fresh and well balanced. Naturally it went well with Pisco. Beef churrasco with light mash and veggies was an easy tasty dish to share. Nothing at all to complain about. Thanks Azuca Nueno Latina.
