"I loved Azul Cielo Hostel’s social but relaxed energy: they offer Spanish and yoga classes, a rooftop terrace and an on-site bar, plus a tasty free breakfast that makes mornings easy. The hostel provides female-only dorms for added security, is about a 10-minute walk from the center of town, and offers free bikes so you can explore Oaxaca without spending much money." - Matthew Kepnes
Had a private room during the Day of the Dead holiday. Despite it being a very busy time they still made sure we could check in early after our overnight bus. Friendly hosts, a lovely garden and terrace, and a beautiful room. Despite it being it hostel, in the room it felt like I was in a luxury hotel. The best of both worlds. Highly recommended!

Nice and clean hostel. This place has everything you need for a stay in Oaxaca. The bedrooms are not that big but it is enough for sleeping. It can be a bit warm inside the rooms when you don't leave the front door open. The kitchen is well equipped and perfect. Delicious breakfast! The staff is nice. I can really recommend this hostel. The centro and other nice areas are possible to arrive in 10 min walk. Directly near to the hostel I can recommend Etnofood (with the vegetarian cooking class) a for good coffee - caffeartte.

Nice clean private rooms for a very reasonable price - friendly staff and great location. Quiet hostel - but as social as you make it yourself.

They provide free breakfast which is nice. But you can't cook during breakfast time.
The staff are super nice and helpful. Help to book tours and taxis and provide a lot of travel and restaurant recommendations.
There is yoga class , walking tour and wrestling and cooking dinner activities. I like the wrestling night with the group it's a super fun night.
I stayed in different rooms during my stay.
The 4 beds female dorm which is better in ventilation.
The twin bed room is stuff and I can't change the direction of the fan. So have you switch it off at night and open the door for ventilation.
The 10 bed dorm is super hot until midnight and big fans keep it on all day n night bc and quite noice.
The cube bed is comfortable and provides a little fan.
There is a man and woman shower separately that I like.
Taxi from ADO is 150 to 200 MXN. From downtown is 90 MXN
15 mins walk to downtown.

I loved it here! I wish I could have stayed longer. The atmosphere and the people are so nice. I also really liked that they just had one big table in the living room, and so everyone ate at that table and starting to chat with each other and discuss the plans of the day. Therefore it was really easy to socialize. I felt really comfortable there and just at ease, like it was my own living room. The breakfast (and thus the chef) is amazing! And everyone who works there as well.
It is a calm but social hostel. If you’re looking for a party hostel you should choose something else.
Location is a little bit further away, like a 15 minute walk to the city centre.

Amazing place, we really enjoyed our stay and wished to stay longer. Room was perfectly clean and cozy with comfortable bed. We had windows towards the patio and didn’t hear any street noise. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They also offer a breakfast which is a nice addition.

The hostel completely ruined my plans due an age restriction. I was traveling with 9 women and had to cancel due they recently have a new policy of a maximum age. They ended up telling me that I need to rent an overpriced private room if I want to stay out to cancel my reservation. At the end our location got ruined. Terrible experience.

This was a nice colourful hostel with a warm atmosphere. However, it was very hot in the private rooms with just a fan. It would have been nice to have a screen door to be able to keep the balcony door open while keeping mosquitoes out. The breakfast was delicious! We wished it opened earlier. Staff was friendly and helpful. Finally, the location is a bit out of the way (15min walk outside of Centro) and we did not feel comfortable walking home alone after sunset.
