Is this heaven? There are no words to truly describe the amazing time I had at Azul No Me Olvides. I stayed in Amaru, a beautiful and cozy cabin with the most breathtaking view of the sunrise over the lagoon. The different decks and hammocks right on the water’s edge are perfect for relaxing and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere. The service makes you feel right at home, and the variety of food on the menu — especially the vegan and vegetarian options — is both delicious and impressive. Don’t miss the chilaquiles or the hibiscus tacos! When you stay at Azul No Me Olvides, you won’t want to leave — it’s that magical. But if you do feel like exploring, downtown Bacalar is just a short drive away. The location is ideal: close enough for convenience, but far enough that you’re surrounded only by the sounds of nature. I loved every moment of my stay… except saying goodbye. I’ll definitely be back. Huge thanks to the incredible hosts for making my vacation absolutely perfect

Azul Nomeolvides was a stunning and tranquility experience. It's a beautiful place to stay to disconnect from a fast paced world and connect with nature. It's eco friendly and providing natural options for toiletries and manmade materials across the property. The service is wonderful as is the food. You won't need to go anywhere. Lounge in your bungalow, enjoy the breeze, take a dip in the lagoon, cruise on a kayak and enjoy the food and experience. Great place for couples to have privacy and a romantic getaway. Even solo it was great to disconnect and relax. Sam and Bernie care deeply about the guest experience and will be sure you create a warm welcome for you. It may be suitable to have a vehicle to get in and out of town if you choose as a taxi can add up quickly, or just don't leave. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Amazing 2 night stays here. We stayed at Sakti cabin where We didn’t even go out to explore Bacalar Town; just relax and chill in the hotel. Access to lagoon and kayaking. So peaceful and quiet. Birds chirping and sound of nature. Quite easy to locate the property on google map. Around 10 to 15 min on dirt road. You need a big car/SUV. Food was good. We loved our breakfast especially. Alcoholic beverages did not seem to be very strong which we didn’t mind. :) Outdoor shower was nice and surprisingly powerful. Nice selection of toiletries and creams eg after sun gel and citronella cream to repel mosquitoes. Sam and Bernie were excellent host! Friendly and helpful.

Azul Nomeolvides was everything we dreamed of for our honeymoon—and more. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Fatima, who truly made our stay unforgettable. Her service was beyond excellent—attentive, thoughtful, and full of heart. Her English was perfect, her cooking was absolutely delicious (some of the best meals we had in Mexico!), and she went above and beyond every day to make sure we had everything we needed. Fatima was the soul of our experience, and we feel so lucky to have been in her care. Tucked away in the lush jungle on the edge of the stunning Bacalar Lagoon, our stay in the Amaru cabin felt like something out of a dream. Waking up to the shimmering turquoise water, surrounded by guardian trees and the sounds of nature, was nothing short of magical. The space itself strikes a perfect balance between rustic and refined. Built with sustainability and serenity in mind, every detail—down to the materials used—invites you to slow down, breathe deep, and truly connect with your surroundings. From morning coffee on the private terrace to a swim in the lagoon under the stars, every moment felt peaceful and intimate. If you're looking for a romantic getaway that blends sustainability, adventure, and heartfelt hospitality, Azul Nomeolvides is it. We already can't wait to come back.

Where do we start! Staying at Azul is like stepping into the most tranquil version of paradise… the wooden cabins are lakeside so you see and hear the water day to night and you have your own private garden that you can relax and soak up the wilderness. The food at the resort cafe is INCREDIBLE (we will be forever missing the hibiscus tacos) and the colour of that lake is almost unreal it’s that beautiful. The highlight of our stay were the incredibly hospitable and friendly hosts and their gorgeous doggos, and we truly didn’t want to leave. The most surprising for us was how modern but still also rustic the cabins are, and how insanely comfortable staying at the lake was. It was authentic to its surroundings but also very luxurious, the ideal combination. We would skip Cancun and Tulum and come straight here to Bacalar next time - and for sure we will be back ❤️

This really was the most magical place and the highlight of what was a fantastic trip to the Yucatan. It sounds cliched, but Bernie and Sam have created a genuine idyll on the banks of Lake Bacalar. The huts are beautifully designed (by Sam) using a mix of old and new techniques. We loved the way nature was able to make its way into the bathroom (in the best way before anyone gets alarmed by unwelcome guests) and waking up to look over the lake makes you feel very connected with the space - worth getting up for sunrise down by the water if you can. Bernie was the perfect host - charming, helpful and interesting. There are only six huts so you never feel crowded out and there's that nice feeling of bonding with other guests that you've all stumbled on something very special. Fantastic food; we basically worked our way through the menu. Cannot recommend this high enough.

The kind of place that’s hard to leave. The views are exquisite and the vibe is just magical. If you’re looking for a moment of peace & chill, it’s just the best spot of all. We enjoyed every single moment of our time here :)

Wonderful secluded and relaxing off-grid location on Lake Bacalar! The lake has the clearest water I have ever seen. Our 6 nights in one of the beautiful A-frame cabanas went by too quickly. The entire property is impressively self-sustaining but not at all primitive. The staff is friendly and helpful. And the food is incredible- prepared fresh at every meal and plentiful!
