Azure Del Mar

Azure Del Mar is more than just a hotel; we found it to be our Caribbean paradise. It provided much needed mesmerizing escape from stressful everyday life. After landing in Belize city and 2 hours 20 minutes car ride we had dived into soft, powdery sandy beach on the turquoise waters. Our vibrant and romantic cabana had stunning views that seemed plucked from a postcard. At the front desk, Valerie greeted us with warm smiles and genuine hospitality, immediately making you feel at home amid this tropical heaven. Just steps away near reception lies an adorably quaint coffee shop brimming with diverse choices. Caramel latte with ice was my favorite. The on-site restaurant was a great bonus where breakfast, lunch, and dinner meld into unforgettable culinary experiences accompanied by whispers of ocean waves and stunning water view. You can bring your drinks on the beach or at the pool. If you are into fishing just go fishing off the pier or enjoy poolside oasis. Complimentary kayaks and paddleboards make exploring easy while bicycles offer riding around in style; don't forget to rent one of their golf carts for fun as you cruise through local sights! The vibrant town of Placencia isn’t far either—merely 7 miles away—where you can meet locals in handful of good restaurants and bars for a drinks and great time. Bearfoot bar on the water is highly recommended, especially if you want to experience nightlife in Placencia. Cabanas can get really hot during the day, but they are equipped with fans and AC. If you don't care about ocean view book a room in main building for more AC temperature control. We are already making plans from next year.

Stopped by here for dinner. Did not stay at their hotel. They have a lovely half open air restaurant with views of the ocean, and nicely lit up. My food and drink were lovely. The garlic sauce was super garlicky- which I love. And the half chicken could have fed two people. We walked the oceanfront while waiting for our food and checked out their pier.

Our stay at Azure del Mar was beyond AMAZING! The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. We arrived in Belize City very late and then had a long drive into Placencia. Maria, one of the receptionist waited for us to arrive even though it was passed her working hours and asked the kitchen staff to prepare food for us to have for when we arrived. The entire staff was friendly and went out of their way to make our 6 night stay incredible. The resort has beautiful views. Its literally on the beach. We ate dinner and had drinks every night we were there and had the most amazing views with our food and drinks. Our suite was perfect for our family. It is in a safe location so much so that we felt comfortable letting our kids roam around the resort on their own even at night. Everything was always clean. My boyfriend and I had a couples massage out on the dock and even though it waa windy the staff made it happen and it was the most amazing massage I've had listening to waves and feeling the wind on us during our massages. I cannot say enough good this about this place. We were so sad to leave.

From the beautiful and peaceful beach to hooking a huge snapper off the dock, the fishing was next level. 🎣🌴🔥 What made it even better? The people. Maria (our reservation expert) was absolutely amazing — super helpful, friendly, and made everything smooth from booking to check-in. Joe and Daniel at the bar were a blast great drinks, great conversation, and even better energy. If you’re looking for a laid-back beachfront spot with killer fishing, awesome food and drinks, and some of the friendliest people around… Azure Del Mar in Belize is the spot. 10/10 recommend. — at Azure Del Mar, Maya Beach Belize.

This is a small boutique hotel with an amazing staff. The restaurant was great. The service was even better. He had a bungalow right on the beach with an amazing views and sound of water.||The staff was phenomenal and the amenities at the hotel were great. They had paddle boards and kayaks and bicycles that you could use for free. They had a golf cart you could rent for a small fee. |Other reviewers mentioned bugs which we did not encounter. The hotel is a long ways from Placencia but the staff was so accommodating and able to get you to town if you’d like to go.

highly recommend staying here. from the beautiful scenery to the friendly staff, every part of the stay was phenomenal. they offer kayaks and bikes that you can take out to ride and when planning the trip they respond quickly to any questions or concerns over email. they made us feel special and well taken care of. would stay here again in a heartbeat

We came here only to eat & swim for 1 day. The meal we got was belizean breakfast & fresh juice. Meal was good, price was okay. Pool was lovely - its not very big & cannot accommodate alot of people.. The beach was not swimable. Too much sargassum & it felt a bit risky to go in and not be aware of your surroundings due to murkey water. They have a long dock out into the ocean thats a bit run down. They definitely could spruce it up, looks like an old bar on the dock that hasn't been in service for years. The grounds are pretty but small. I swear we seen a dolphin swimming far out off the dock! Cannot comment on the resort- wasn't inside.

You have to try the Belizean style lobster tail special Whether you're sipping refreshing cocktails while lounging on sun-kissed sands or casting a line off the pier for some fishing fun, Azure Del Mar caters to every whim. For those craving activity, kayaks, paddle boards, and bicycles are included so you can explore at your own pace or rent a golf cart for extra flair during your escapades around this locals’ favorite retreat! Placencia downtown is just 7 miles away—a scenic drive made even better by having rented a car upon arriving in Belize City; roaming freely around this picturesque region was undeniably one of our best decisions ever! As weekends bustle with joyful local visitors flocking in droves to savor what Azure Del Mar has to offer—clean grounds and vibrant energy abound—you’ll find yourself. We are already making plans to visit again. It’s well worth the 2 hrs drive from Belize city and if you don’t feel driving you can always hop on the local plain ride from Belize city airport to Placencia.
