B & B Matera Vittorio Veneto Luxury Rooms

We didn't book this hotel as it was part of a tour. It was noisy and uncomfortably warm (temperature controlled centrally) and unable to control in the room. Room was small, couldn't walk around the bed with suitcase open. All white decor is 'sterile' and not in keeping with the location. No food on site, breakfast served in one of two cafes was average. The only positive, it was clean.

Simply amazing! One of the best stays we have had so far. We had troubles with a b&b booked on Airbnb and we had call the hotel to book a room quite late at night and Mary was an absolute angel, going the extra mile to help us and make our stay extremely comfortable. The room was neat, beautiful and overlooking a very quaint square. Definitely to book again!

This B&B (VV) was a chance find on the internet. ||I had booked a different hotel in Matera but cancelled it as we decided that we would rather stay in the town rather than in the Sassi de Matera as it is more convenient and accessible with a car. We had also heard that it is not a great idea to stay in the caves for more than two nights, due to the humidity, and we were staying four nights. Also, if you have a large amount of luggage it is not easy getting in and out of the sassi. The ground is very uneven and is quite slippery in places. ||We booked directly with this establishment and they were very helpful with information for our arrival including car parking close to VV. The location of VV is perfect, directly in the Square and although it is a hub of activity outside, the the rooms are very well soundproofed. The rooms were well furnished, super clean (being white interiors throughout helped as one could see that it was spotless!). Breakfast is not served inside VV but they give vouchers to be used at two cafes in the Square. Go to Caffe Tripoli as it is far superior to Caffe Vittorio Veneto. Their election and service was very good (have written a review for them too!) ||Stefania, at VV Reception, was great with recommendations for restaurants and other advice. We highly recommend a stay here, you will not regret it.

This small modern hotel is conveniently situated on a main piazza in Matera. It is situated in a limited traffic zone. It is close to two parking areas dedicated to hotel guests only, which means you don’t have to be rolling luggage up and down stairs and through cobblestone ways over a very long distance. It is very close to the sassi, as well as the visitor information Center. Rooms are immaculate, and but for bathrobes, all the essentials are provided. The room rate includes breakfast, which is actually provided through coupons you can use at two caffè situated right in the piazza. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The advantage of this hotel’s location might be problematic for light sleepers. The piazza is bustling with merry chatter until quite late, and the refuse (especially recyclable glass bottles) gets collected, noisily, around 6 am, followed by merchants sweeping the frontage of their bistros and caffé with gas blowers prior to opening time. Most rooms face the piazza. I recommend ear plugs.

Great location off the main square in Matera, a flat 200 m from the parking garage. Access to the Sasso very close. Our room had a balcony with an excellent view of the square. The design of the room was outstanding, taking advantage of every square inch. The shower will take a couple of minutes to figure out.

Our host was exceptional, clean rooms, great location and very beautifully designed. Totally recommend staying here.

If there would have been more than 5 stars, I would give it to this place!. Perfect location, spacious modern rooms and bathrooms! The girl that assisted us was always available to help us! Great value for money!
