B & B Ripa Medici

We absolutely love this beautiful place and our kind hostess, Sabrina! We returned to stay in “the blue suite” after staying here two years ago, and once again we were blown away with the charming ambiance, the attention to detail in so many ways, the spotless cleanliness, very comfy king sized bed, fabulous location, and that incredible view from both the living area snd bedroom windows! Sabrina is the sweetest, nicest person who feels like a friend! There are great restaurants very close by, the location is so central yet in a lovely quiet lane, and parking is included in the price. We would love to return to this home away from home again someday!

This was our second stay at casa Bianca, a small apartment close to theb&b. Parking is easy in the large carpark and with the lift to the upper level of Orvieto it is only a short walk to the apartment. We really like the decorations here. Sabrina is very kind and welcoming.||We received vouchers to have a simple breakfast in one the nice cafes in Orvieto which suits us fine.

Enjoyed our stay here. The B&B had a rustic charm. Coupled with the scenery, it's a pleasant experience. The room came with hair dryer, TV, Nespresso machine, microwave and a water kettle.

Ripa Medici is the perfect base for exploring Orvieto, in a quiet location on the edge of the town with glorious countryside views and within easy walking distance of a wide variety of bars, restaurants, shops and attractions. ||We booked the family suite as, although there were only 2 of us, we prefer having kitchen/dining facilities and a lounge area which this suite provides. The spacious accommodation is beautifully presented with local furnishings, fabrics and toiletries, polished wooden flooring and light filled rooms, it is very comfortable, spotlessly clean and the air conditioning in both bedrooms provides relief from the heat when required. We found the price excellent value for the high standards on offer. ||Sabrina is a very charming and welcoming host and is on hand for help and advice if needed. We encountered a minor problem with some equipment during our stay but Sabrina and her son called round immediately to sort it out.||We first stayed here 14 years ago and chose to return this year to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary so it was wonderful to find Ripa Medici just as perfect and Orvieto just as beautiful.

When in Orvieto...Stay here. This place was a steal and Sabrina is a delight. She makes a great breakfast, delicious cappuccino, and offers terrific advice. The view from the room we stayed in was beautiful right on the outer wall of Orvieto. If arriving by train don't feel the need to get a rental car. You can for sure get by without a car in this town. The finicular is in the same parking lot as the train station. When you do get a car, if staying in Orvieto, Sabrina offers free parking. Wish we stayed during the Umbria Jazz fest but all in all Orvieto was a terrific, laid back, safe town to be immersed in excellent food, awesome views and an easy visit. Ripa Medici is a great Bed and breakfast to stay at. One note about the beds...my husband is 6 feet and he was a bit tall for the bed. As for me, I wished I brought my own pillow. We shall return one day for sure I hope.

OMG!! What a find! We stayed in the apartment down the alley over looking the valley to the south. Since we rented a car to do some exploring of the area the location was perfect due to the proximity of the parking garage just below. Both bedrooms and the living area between them had huge windows that opened right up to view the valley while we had our coffee and biscotti. beds were great, bathrooms and plumbing all worked great (and thats huge in italy) clean as a whistle the kitchen had staples ready to go. Espresso, tea and other niceties. We spent three weeks in Italy this time and the B&B Ripa Medici is by far the nicest place we stayed. Our host, Sabrina is absolutely wonderful. Full of great information and speaks very good english and on a side note she is,IMHO, adorable. Orvieto is a wonder stop over for three or four nights stay. It is a very easy and relaxed hill town with great food and loads of alley ways to explore. the Saturday market it is excellent with a wide variety of foods clothing and energy. The B&B and the town were just a great place to unwind and relax.

Couldn't have asked for a greater place to stay. Reasonably priced. Clean, spacious rooms with AMAZING views!! Comfortable beds & a nice, hot shower. Great location. Everything we needed to see was in walking distance. Sabrina was extremely helpful in navigating Orvieto & suggesting spots we shouldn't miss. She also provided a delicious breakfast for us. Fresh homemade bread, fruit, pastries, eggs & cappuccino. If we are lucky enough to make it back, we will definitely stay here again.

Sabrina was such a warm host. We arrived early on the first train from Rome, and interrupted breakfast time. But instead of being flustered, Sabrina offered us cappuccinos and breakfast made up of artisanal breads, cold cuts and homemade jams, which we gratefully accepted on the cold windy morning. She was knowledgable about the town, and gave us tips for the best sightseeing places and restaurants. She even helped make dinner reservations for us. Our room was located in a next-door building from Sabrina's own apartment. It was one of 2 rooms in an apartment overlooking the southern ramparts with a view of the gorgeous Umbria countryside. You'll have to see the view for yourself to be amazed. Apparently the building is about 1,300 years old, but the apartment itself is thoroughly modern and impeccably well-kept. The bathroom was clean and hot water was never a problem. The room was very well-thought out - little details like the double glazed windows made big differences and meant that both the cold and noise were effectively kept out. We slept like babies! We were so pleased to have found Sabrina's B&B, and would want to return the next time we are in Orvieto, and would also heartily recommend it to all our friends! Tip: If you have smartphone, the apartment can be located easily and accurately using Google maps.

Stayed with Sabrina again just days ago, bringing family with us. (Their first visit to Italy) Sabrina never disappoints, giving her usual lively conversation in continuously improving English, along with wonderful service and accomodations. We were served her fabulous breakfast and met her son who made capucchinos for us, helping his mama. We felt like old friends. Stay here when visiting Orvieto, a great small town with much to offer.
