B. Espace Suites - Hotel Riquewihr [JL BRENDEL]

We had a wonderful stay! Perfect for couples. We stayed on floor 1. Based on other reviews noting there is no elevator, I requested a lower floor and the hotel accommodated. The room was well appointed with thoughtful amenities. The hotel’s location is right in the middle of everything. We were a moment’s walk to try great wines and return to our room to drop off purchases. Several restaurants or quick bites within a 1 minute walk. The off-site parking is 5 minutes away but again, an easy walk. We were even able to pull right in front of the hotel to load our wine purchases, which I recommend. The restaurant was literally out the front door and the staff was wonderful. They made reservations for us and easily accommodated our party of 4 during our stay. We can not wait to return for another stay!

I was visiting Riquewihr as a pilgrimage to my favourite Alsatian winemaker, Famille Hugel. M. Hugel was very kind to help me book my stay at B. Espace, a boutique hotel smartly blending luxury, history and the latest technology in a renovated 14th-century townhouse in the heart of Riquewihr. ||||My room had exposed beams and an antique armour, but the decor was modern and sleek. It was a very spacious room with a separate bedroom and lounge area, plus a good sturdy writing desk. ||||The owners, Anne & Jean-Luc Brendel, run two Michelin-recommended restaurants in town. D’Brendelstub is a revolutionized winstub — a contemporary version of the local pub, located on the ground floor on the same building. This is where M. Etienne Hugel held his wedding party!||||One must try the tarte flambée, an Alsatian specialty resembling a super-thin pizza with thinly sliced onions and crème fraiche.

The hotel is attached to a restaurant, l’Brendelstub, which is terrific and which is reviewed separately. Being fair, the greeting is not that great, at least for English speakers. We eventually were friendly with the staff and owner but the check-in was choppy. (The parking is remote and the staff did not explain well where it is, or that it is behind a large wood door that need to be slid open, but we figured it out eventually). Nonetheless, the room was large, with a nice bathroom and looks over the medieval street. It was up two steep flights of stairs and the staff offered no help with the bags but this is rural France, so what can you do. ||Riquewihr is a town frozen in amber from a long time ago (though with WiFi) and with that taken into account, this place gets 5 stars.

Great location in a beautiful town. The room was very comfortable and quiet. Free parking dedicated to the hotel is available nearby. Breakfast comes at an extra cost but is fantastic. There are plenty of dining and wine tasting options on your doorstep.

This boutique hotel is located within the center of Riquewihr, France. The village setting was welcoming and the hotel exclusive. Adjacent to the hotel door is its great restaurant available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. As a visitor, our hotel room was unique with its thick ancient walls surrounding the spacious living and sleeping areas. Plenty of space, well designed accommodation, great service. Pay special attention to the instruction on opening the hotel door from street level.

Hotel was well presented. The room was well done, modern touches but very In keep with the local vibe. The view down the street was also great. That said the hotel was in a great location to walk around and looked to be easily one of the best in town. A great base for a day champagne tasting. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Charming little hotel (only a handful of rooms) in an excellent location in the very centre of the old town of Riquewihr.||Rooms have modern en suite bathrooms, very clean. Hotel has secure car parking.||Breakfast is served in one of their several restaurants located right below the rooms.||The hotel team are very friendly, welcoming and accommodating.||If available, book their package which includes an incredible dining experience at their Michelin starred restaurant (Le Table De Gourmet by JL Brendel). Unforgettable!

This spot was perfect for our weekend visit to Alsace. It's in the middle of picturesque Riquewihr, which has wonderful options for dinner, and serves as a great home base for exploring Alsace. The room was well-appointed and the staff friendly and helpful. Would recommend!
