We chose this hotel specifically to celebrate New Year’s Eve, expecting a premium experience — unfortunately, our interaction with the team left a very mixed and disappointing impression even before arrival.
When we first reviewed the offer, the New Year’s Eve dinner was listed at around 690 BRL per person, with no indication that prices could change or that availability was limited for hotel guests. We contacted the hotel several times regarding the dinner purchase, and at no point did anyone warn us that we might not get a spot or that everything could be fully booked. However, when my wife finally tried to confirm the reservation, we were told the price was already 890 BRL and that the dinner was sold out — despite the official PDF stating that it was unavailable only for non-hotel guests.
Communication with the manager made the situation even more confusing. Instead of clear answers, the narrative kept changing, and our concerns were dismissed. Within about an hour, the price allegedly jumped from 890 BRL to 1,500 BRL, which felt inconsistent and, frankly, like gaslighting rather than professional customer care.
Strangely enough, places for us were eventually “found,” and we ended up paying 890 BRL per person. Upon arrival, there was also noticeable miscommunication with the reception team, which added to the frustration.
The hotel itself is beautiful — very stylish, designer-focused, and perfectly reflecting the spirit of the city. The dinner was good, but unfortunately it did not feel worth the price we paid. Overall, the lack of transparency, constant price changes, and poor communication significantly overshadowed what could have been a great experience.
