On 1/17/2014, I visited B.Smith Restaurant in Manhattan with a friend from California. We didn't have reservations and the hostess suggested that we sit at the bar. While at the bar, the manager asked another couple to move down one seat so another couple could sit next to us. The couple who moved down, was offered drinks on the house. The bartender took the drink order of the couple who sat down next to us (did I mention that it was a WHITE couple). The bartender then took our drink order. The food orders for all parties took a while before we received it, but the WHITE couple was provided with bread while they wait by the manager. Manager also apologized for the food delay. Did I mention that the manager, bartender, hostess are BLACK and so am I and my guest. We waited 2 hours before we were served. No apology from the manager... no bread ... no nothing... My Jamaican mother would say that an establishment who doesn't treat it's customers with respect, is not deserving of that customer's hard, earned money. Dorrette
