Lies, lies, lies.
We booked a 45 sq meter, king-size room with a partial ocean view. We were shown a small, shabby, cramped room with a queen-size bed in the back of the hotel. The night clerk said this is what I requested. When I showed him my printed reservation, he insisted that it was what I had booked. He only admitted once that the bed was not the right size when a large, unoccupied room whose door was open showed a king-size bed. He then continued to claim the beds were the same size. We said this looks like the room we booked. He shrugged and said the room is for someone else the next day, and there is nothing he can do about it. When confronted about the size of the room, he said we can count the hotel porch as part of the room size. Throughout all of this attitude was arrogant and rude. I hate being lied to, and even more so when someone pretends not to understand you, but they do and are using this tactic to take advantage. Fortunately, Agoda, through whom we had booked, refunded our money. What a truly horrible experience and truly wretched people.
