Baan Hanibah

Baan Hanibah was recommended to us by a good friend who had stayed there a few years ago. It is located in the Old City, and is incredibly quiet. The beautiful, two storey, very well maintained Thai villa has large bedrooms with air con and a lovely bathroom attached to all its rooms. The common area upstairs has tea, coffee, water, a kettle, biscuits and a fridge to make your stay easy. Breakfast is delicious with a wide range of options and plenty of food. The garden outside is perfect for sitting in and retreating from the activity elsewhere. It was truly a little oasis and you can wander out and enjoy all that Chiang Mai has to offer whilst coming home knowing you will get an excellent sleep and that your hosts are super friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend!

I chose this place because of its high rating, and after staying here, I completely understand why it receives such positive reviews. I arrived late, and the hosts kindly left clear instructions for me and allowed me to complete registration the next morning. The service throughout my stay was exceptionally kind and welcoming. They even prepared a special breakfast for me, which I truly appreciated. The WiFi is very fast ands there’s plenty of comfortable books around the premises to enjoy a rest in a sofa. The room and the entire building are immaculately clean. The bedding and bathroom were especially appealing—very comfortable, inviting, and well maintained. I had heard great things about the breakfast, and it absolutely lives up to the hype. The quality of the fruit and bread was excellent: very fresh, juicy fruit and bread with a deep, natural flavor. This was a refreshing change from the overly sweet and bland bread I’ve often encountered in Korea. Since I don’t like eggs, they thoughtfully made a special dish just for me. The garden is another standout feature. It feels like a small sanctuary—peaceful, lush, and beautifully maintained, with many interesting plants. The gentle sound of water creates a calming atmosphere and is even helpful for finding your way back to the lodging at night. The location is a major plus. It’s very quiet and peaceful, yet there are plenty of excellent restaurants, bars, cafés, and juice spots within about a 6-minute walk. All of this comes at an incredible price. The value for what you get is outstanding. I’m very happy with my stay and will definitely return.

A warm, welcoming respite in the quiet, NE corner of the old city. Beautiful old lanna house with smooth, clean floors, koi fish, good Wi-Fi, full breakfast, shared refrigerator, lounge spaces and a library. The mattress was pretty firm (typical for this town), but the sheets and towels are fresh and new. Highly recommended.

Lovely place, beautiful clean rooms, comfy bed! Delicious breakfast and friendly staff, kept a bag safe for me while I was riding the Mae Hong Song Loop. I highly recommend this place!

Looknai, Toy, Nai, and Tee are the kindest and most welcoming hosts you could ever meet; especially for a first timer in Thailand!|I agree with all the previous positive particulars regarding the house, garden, breakfast, and other amenities. Baan Hanibah is an oasis that feels like home. I love this place and these people; and hope you get the opportunity to experience it all for yourself!

After the chaos of Bangkok, this was what we needed - a quiet B&B in a beautiful neighborhood, within walking distance of almost everything.This is not a luxury hotel, nor does it try to be. It is a quaint old home that has been transformed into a beautiful spot to rest and sleep. Our favorite spot was the balcony - we would simply look at the flowers and watch the birds.One thing, being a small B&B, the breakfast is not the huge buffet with a huge selection of food. Instead, it is freshly made coffee, eggs any way, fresh toast and lots and lots of fresh fruit. For me, the ideal breakfast is coffee, bread and mango, so I was in my happy place.It is a wonderful old house that makes its own music - you quickly discover which floorboards squeak and learn to avoid them at night. And waking up to the calling of birds is always a blessing.

Amazing, amazing hotel! The place is absolutely gorgeous, the room spacious, clean and extra comfortable, including the bed. The breakfast is incredible and the host as well! I want to give them a special thank you, because I lost my sunglasses at their property and they had the patience and kindness to send it back to my hotel in Bangkok. The best place I stayed in Thailand!

The most beautiful boutique home. It’s run by a couple who are adorable. I felt cared and looked after. It is located in old town, walking distance from everywhere. It was hot outside during our visit, but due to their beautiful garden and the traditional Thai thatching, this place was cool. It was perfect. I felt teary eyed leaving this couple behind.
