Baan Maii 2 Café was such a lovely surprise. I came in craving something warm and comforting, and the pho broth here was genuinely delicious. It tasted clean and rich at the same time, with a depth that made me want to finish every last spoonful.
I also tried their Lao style Khao Soi, and it was really interesting in the best way. It is quite different from the Thai version because it is not coconut based. They served it with kanom jeen rice noodles, which are thicker than rice vermicelli and have a soft, slightly chewy texture. The noodles are bright white and feel very clean and fresh, making the dish lighter but still full of flavor. Honestly, it is delicious in its own way, and I am glad I tried it.
What I liked most overall is that the food has a balanced taste. It is not overly salty and not too spicy, so it feels easy to enjoy as a proper meal. The staff were sweet, polite, and attentive, and the restaurant was clean and well kept. I would definitely recommend stopping by if you are in the area.
