Baba Deli

This place is under new ownership and it shows in all the right ways. As a native New Yorker I can say, without a doubt, that this is one of the cleanest delis in NYC with amazing food and customer service! There's even a backyard at the back of the shop to enjoy a beer after work, which I tend to find myself frequenting more often then the local bars. Great space with even better people!

Awesome place. One of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve found in Park Slope—bagels and rolls are always fresh. Great craft beer selection that they rotate out, but they always have stuff from Other Half, Five Boroughs, etc. in stock. The owners and employees make you feel welcome and recommend new beers when they get new stuff. Has a really nice patio/outdoor area in the back that I haven’t hung out in yet because of COVID, but looking forward to frequenting this when possible!

I would give it a five star review, except for the fact that the ownership doesn’t seem to be very responsible. The young lady there is great cook, beautiful person. But the people who are suppose to man the register seem to come and go. Lately every time I go in she is the ONLY one working, there is no cashier. TOO MUCH for one person to do. Regular customers, Lotto tickets, deli, phone, inventory? …she shouldn’t be doing this all by by herself! Should be a 2 person team! I hope the owner takes care of this problem.

I have lived in this city from Washington heights to BK this is absolutely THE BEST DELI FOOD I HAVE EVER HAD!! The quantity the quality all above and beyond. DJ the owner and his wife are incredibly kind and hard working ppl. I am blessed each time I walk in. No point in going any place else. Order online. Walk in everything is accessible. Let’s also mention the amazing garden they have in the back! It’s an open space that is full of seating, art and culture. Don’t hesitate ya!!! One love!

Worst place ever, they charge 4.16 for the Lipton tee. Could u imagine that? I swear this us the last time when i buy something there

This place recently came under new ownership and has become a great local deli/grocery/food place. It is always clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend it if you are in the area.

Reliable and friendly neighborhood bodega, also a lucky one. Proprietor is helpful, and can even recommend some fantastic beer. Highly recommend 10/10

they used to have a very good service and food, but recently i think they change a lot, Coffee is not good anymore and food is nasty...The worse I have seen is using the same plastic container that was used in another customer please make sure if you eat in that please check how they made your food.....

by far the worst food i have ever tasted in my life. People that work there are very nice but wow! this food made airline food look like per se! ordered a burger. it was a 1/4" thick piece of cardboard burnt to a crisp. wings were inedible, also obviously taken straight from the freezer. i think these 5 star reviews are suspect af!

I had the wonderful opportunity to work on a mural for this Deli. The owner of the site didn't give me more direction than "make something that looks relaxing". During the days I worked on the mural I noticed why he asked for that. The ambiance is not pretentious and the food is great. I was very happy to meet the staff and some of the costumers. I highly recommend the quesadillas, sopes, chilaquiles and the aguas frescas: horchata and tamarindo. Good coffee as well!

Unbelievably awesome hidden gem. Wonderful adorable deli in the front with nice staff and large affordable menu, but magical patio in the back! See pictures. The food itself is fresh and high quality. No need for those pretentious overpriced places when something cool and a neighborhood establishment like this still exists.

I love this deli! They're food is great and even if I'm not hungry I still go here almost everyday just for their amazing coffee. This is def a hidden gem with affordable great food and really friendly staff.

How can I possibly express the massive importance Baba's Deli has been to us! We have lived around he corner for years, and have thoroughly enjoyed their perfect egg sandwiches and burritos, delicious pastries, coffee and to top it off, family-friendly and caring approach to all customers who know about this secret gem. I was pregnant with our child and came here for craving after craving, then when he was born the whole crew watched him grow and has become part of our family. We love this place!

Great all around deli! It's a half block from my house and carries all the staples. Good beer selection, excellent sandwiches, and killer Mexican food for lunch. I love the outside patio and the friendly staff!

Love this place because the food (quesadillas especially!) is delish, the newly revamped backyard with mural is my new happy place, the staff is super friendly, and because they hosted a movie night for kids in said backyard tonight and they even provided the popcorn! This is not your average deli.

Sweet people, sweet place, great selection of gf grab and run snacks if you are on the go and a backyard to enjoy a coffee if you plan to stay! =)

Baba Newstand is the GREATEST lunch counter/coffee shop in my neighborhood. I go in every morning to get my egg on a roll and ice coffee. The people that work there (Anna and Cathy) and the owners (Steven and Shanti) are wonderful. I love going in every morning to say hello and chat and get my breakfast before hopping on the subway in to the city. They have a wonderful outdoor area, as well, that has just been fixed up. If you live in the South Slope area you should definitely check this place out.

i used to come here almost every morning for coffee. the staff are super friendly and sweet.. i think it's a family-owned business. the homemade muffins are tasty. they also have an outdoor patio in the summer which i would never expect from a local NYC deli. they really do a good job.

I don't participate in yelp much, but when I do it's for a reason. So, let's start by saying I have tried every burger in Park Slope at any place that claims to have decent burgers, and no BS, this is hands best burger in the neighborhood. Go in and order the bacon cheeseburger and watch the care that goes into making it. You will be blown away. This place is special.

The service seems to have gone down drastically in only a week or two. Must be because Neil is no longer there.

Not sure why this place has such great reviews. I NEVER leave reviews, but my experience ordering from this place was really subpar. I ordered something directly off of their menu on seamless (ie., just clicked it...). It came within the delivery window, but didn't have all of the ingredients. I called, they wanted to send over the missing ingredients? I mean, make a new sandwich... I can assemble my own without tipping you. The correction arrived 40 minutes later and was STILL incorrect. When I called to address the problem, the person who answered the phone argued with me that he had "put everything on" the sandwich, including things that are not listed. Know your menu and work with customers to make sure they get what they order. Avoid the hassle and go elsewhere!

I have been coming here for a number of years now. This is definitely one of the better delis that I have been to....which is why I keep coming back. They have provided me with great service and food all throughout my pregnancy and continue to do so now for both my daughter and I. I have eaten every thing from a simple toasted bagel to a complete pasta dish for dinner. As I type this review, I can't seem to think of one thing that I have not enjoyed here. I'll keep thinking...and if I do come up with something, I will surely log back on here to warn you. In any case, if you find yourself in the area, I would say stop by and give them a try. Great people.
