Skip the salad! Went here for dinner with a group of 7. It was a bit of a drive, but totally worth it—some of the best fried chicken I’ve had. Moist, flavorful all the way through, not just the crispy skin. I even called my wife afterward to say we’re coming back next time we’re in the area. Each order is a half chicken (breast, thigh, leg, wing) with family-style sides. Salad was basic, but the biscuit with honey? Unreal. I skipped the mashed potatoes to save room, and still couldn’t finish—portions are huge! The place has a quirky haunted-village vibe, and the staff were super friendly (yes, they actually sing and dance). Great spot for groups, families, and celebrations. Bonus: it’s in a beautiful, lively area.

My first visit here from out of town. I thought Babe's was kind of odd to begin with. They serve generous portions on the chicken and fish, and the vegetables are never ending. I started eating before I took a pic, sorry, not sorry. lol They have the best green beans I have ever tasted. The mashed potatoes and country gravy are good too. For my meat, I had the fried catfish. I was served three generous sized pieces of catfish. Not fried too hard, just right. I procured a piece of chicken from my sister, which was tender inside and crispy outside. If I ever get back to Dallas, Babe's will be one of my first stops.

Tried Babe’s for the first time and it was pretty good. The girl at the register was really nice and explained the menu to us. The price for all the food wasn’t bad, since it came up to a little under $25. I got the chicken tenders meal which came with plenty of sides. The chicken tenders were pretty good, but I wasn’t a fan of the sauce it came with since it had a weird aftertaste, so I just dipped it in some ranch. The biscuits were basic and I dipped it in the gravy. The gravy itself was ok. Not really flavored much. The sides were pretty good. The mashed potatoes tasted like the boxed kind that you add water to and it was actually a little watery tasting. The green beans, well, I wasn’t a fan of it, so I gave that to my boyfriend. The salad was just chopped up lettuce and the dressing it came with tasted like straight up oil, wasn’t a fan. I did enjoy the corn which had a good, sweet flavor. So if I were to order that again, I’d swap the green beans for more corn. I also ordered Banana pudding, which is my favorite, and it was really yummy. Overall, a decent first time meal from Babes. And for the price, I might go back and try the other meals.

Love everything about this place! My daughter has Celiacs disease and I've recently had my gallbladder removed so this place is my go to for eating out now! Everything is delicious and we never leave disappointed! Their smoked chicken is amazing and when combined with the sides 🙌 My only disappointment is that I cannot eat their biscuits! 😩

Ordered to go, food was delicious even after driving all the way home. Tons of sides, biscuits and good portions of chicken. Service was fast and very polite.

Google
Great place to have a special dinner out with the family. Great chicken, corn, biscuits, etc. Friendly service. Lots of interesting eye candy inside.

Google
Would highly recommend! Food was great and service was excellent. We had a large group of 22, and even though they don’t take reservations, they put us in the “library”, which we had to ourself. This was the day before our mom’s memorial service with just immediate family, so it was wonderful to have this time and space to be free to visit, cry, share memories and laugh. The waitress was so kind and attentive, and she never complained about us moving around and visiting with each other. I wish I would have caught her name, but we were there 10/11 at 5 pm. Thank you so much!

Yelp
Always a classic old timey family meal when we come to Babe's! I am a sucker for fried chicken... Absolutely love it and unfortunately for me so does my wife which means we can't pass up Babe's no matter if we are on a diet or not and if we know there is a Babes on the way (or not,) we will drive 30 miles out of our way to partake. Friendly service. Nice atmosphere and solid fried chicken with unlimited sides... They also serve other meat options, but after five visits to several of their locations I've never tried anything other than the fried Chicken.... Maybe one day.

Yelp
I'll start by saying this was a catered lunch, not a dine-in experience. I didn't pick it up myself, so I can't speak to the service, but everything was packaged nicely, and they sent a few plates. It wasn't quite enough for the amount of chicken we ordered, but that wasn't a big deal...this was an office lunch, so we had some extras on hand. I did notice they included spoons for the sides but no tongs for the chicken. I've heard mixed things about this place (it's either love it or hate it) so I wasn't sure what to expect. We had fried chicken, and while it was cooked well and the batter had a flaky, crispy texture, it lacked the flavor you expect from something labeled "Southern fried." Honestly, it reminded me of fast food chicken (you know, the red and white kind). As for the sides, we had corn, green beans, and mashed potatoes. Nothing fancy. The corn was good, and the mash was solid, though I wasn't a fan of the gravy. The green beans were overcooked and had a bit of a burnt taste. I'm not sure I'd go out of my way for this place... or even go at all. I don't love it, I don't hate it, but I definitely don't share the hype others seem to have.

Yelp
When I get my fried chicken craving I always go to babes but yesterday it just wasn't the same and the green beans tasted almost burnt and the chicken wasn't as crunchy as in past . I'm not saying I won't go back but come on babes step it up.

Yelp
Taylor Ray made our Babes experience INCREDIBLE! She was extremely attentive, funny, and kind. Not only was she welcoming to us at the start of our visit but she continued to make us feel right at home throughout our meal. We will definitely be back just for her and her unmatched hospitality!

Yelp
If you ever find yourself in the area, you absolutely can't miss out on Babe's! My coworkers and I made a pit stop on our way back from Fort Worth, and let me tell you, it was a game-changer! We all dove into different dishes--crispy fried chicken, mouthwatering fried catfish, and some incredible chicken-fried steak. There wasn't a crumb left on our plates; it was that delicious! Trust me, it's worth every penny!

Yelp
My last visit to Babe's was to transport their amazing Fried Chicken Dinner to my mom in Wimberley. She loves their chicken so I ordered a few dinners and picked them up. They are efficient and quick to get your order out to you. Anyways, if you transport the chicken open the box to let it cool faster and so the crust on the chicken doesn't sweat. I have a cooler ready to pack everything in once it cools off. The dinners arrived about 4 hours later and Mom is so funny, she ate the chicken cold for 2 days and know the sides warmed up really well. When your mama craves Babe's, you make it happen!

Yelp
We had relatives from Califonia and had raved about Babe's in Burleson. We had lunch there today, Aug 18, 2025 and I'm not sure to hold responsible but here is what we experienced. I wait person took our drink order (4 people) two waters and two "unsweet teas". The tea was sweet....ok mistakes can happen. The we ordered our food and first up is the salad...love the salad, but the portion was not in porportion four 4 people. So we re-orded and same small amout..third order finally was sufficient for us. Main course was delivered along with the sides.....One of us ordered catfish (based on our recommendation from previous visits...instead of 2 nice sized fillets. there were four small nugget sized pieces (had to ask for the tartar sauce) and while we consumed our orders, my nephew had to sit and wait for the tartar sauce. The potatoes tasted as if there were instant and the portion (again) allowed for each of us to have one spoonfull of potatoes- dotto same story on the corn and gravy. Each time we re-ordered the wait person had to walk all the way back to the kitchen (time consuming) and then bring what shoud have been the proper portion the first time. Two of us ordered the fried chicken and while the battered crust was the same, the breast was dry and tasteless (not sure why but I suspect they no longer brine the chicken). I raved about the banana pudding, and it was delivered on a plate - looked as if someone vomited on the plate and not in a small bowl. I blame the managment for putting a wait person on the floor and not properly training them. As to the kitchen, something is not what it used to be. If some bean counter has decided this is the way to increase profits, this is a very short sided perspective, as we will not be bringing our out of town guests back to Babe's in Burleson

Yelp
To start things off really love that his place is kid friendly and is loud, you're able to really eat with your family, talk, and not worry about the people next to you. The service is good as well, the only thing is we're new to the area and weren't familiar with the menu but throughout dinner when she came to ask if we needed anything else we were totally rushed. Overall it was a cool place though.

Yelp
Simply my favorite place to eat when a guest comes to town or we are celebrating with family. The Storybook design transports you into feeling like you're eating in an adventure land. The service is always A+ with friendly demeanor, recommendations, and quick help. Our server (Tristan?) was excellent making sure we had everything we needed, refills, and plenty of food! We ordered, chicken tenders, roasted chicken and a kids chicken fried steak. We were delighted to hear the hostess Giana sing and had a great time with our family who left full and had fun!

Yelp
I've seen the sign for babe's and finally got the chance to try it!! It's awesome. No menu so you don't know the prices. They have four entrees. Fried chicken, smoked chicken, chicken tenders, catfish, and Chicken fried steak. Service was good and polite. They did waitress karaoke and it was super life. Fun decorations everywhere! Kids loved it.

Yelp
I love this specific building because it was my great grandmothers favorite place sadly she is no longer with us but this place is nostalgic to me. The food is awesome and I love the cozy vibe of the place. I also got my food pretty fast it only took 5 minutes for the appetizers and only 8 minutes after for my food.

Yelp
Babes has been my first choice for fried chicken in Fort Worth. But, the last two times I have ordered bone in fried chicken at the Burleson location it was dry and almost tasted overcooked. Which was a disappointment. I haven't given up on them yet. I will probably give them one more try.
google avatar

Yelp
It's not for me, but it's good fried chicken. I don't love the sit down, family style with the same 3 sides. Don't get me wrong, the chicken is delicious and this place is probably great for families! For just my wife and I, it was a bit much. The bad: really no drink selection (no diet Dr pepper, no diet coke, just diet RC). How you gonna call about 19 cents worth of romaine lettuce a "salad" cmon bruh. The corn was very very sweet, beware. The Good:the biscuits and the fried chicken are excellent! The price is decent. The concept is unique for sure and fun as a one time thing if you don't have many mouths to feed.

Yelp
Roasted chicken was delicious. Sides were delicious. Service was very good. Ambience was good.

Yelp
We got our food to go and the green beans were burned...too bad because they are usually our daughters favorite...was looking forward to enjoying our meal....too bad.. Chicken was delicious and corn yummy!

Yelp
What a fun and unique place. The atmosphere is totally unique and I challenge you to count all the chicken statues hidden around the room. Babes is pretty simple. It's fried chicken. They can bring you a menu but they don't need to because you have only a few options. I can respect a place who knows what they're about and they stick to it. They don't try to have one of everything. We went with a big group and had a fantastic time. I even purchased some of their honey to take home. The only reason I would say to not go would be if you're not craving fried chicken, because they don't have anything else.
google avatar

Christina B.

Yelp
I am not much for fried chicken but this place...wow! This is a sit down country style restaurant with a relaxed, at home feel. With mismatched chairs, and tables, this is such a fun place. Service is always great and staff is friendly. Limited menu but this in my opinion allows for quick service and perfecting the items they do have. Again, I am not big on fried chicken but it is delicious. Juicy, tender, flavorful and you just can't get enough. I typically get chicken fried steak and it is giant! I never finish it! My daughter always opts for the chicken tenders and these are her absolute favorite. She never can get enough of the honey mustard dipping sauce either! Different locations have a few different options (I believe) but I do know this location has fried chicken, smoked chicken, fried catfish, chicken fried steak, fried chicken and tenders. All meals come with green salad, mashed potatoes, creamed corn, green beans, biscuits, and white cream gravy...unlimited refills too but note there is not a to-go option for left over sides. Biscuits are always hot and fresh, salad looks very plain but the dress, sheesh, amazing! Always a great meal and can promise you won't be disappointed. Peak times...expect a wait!

Yelp
Babes Chicken begin up in the Roanoke, Texas area years ago, and now have nearly a dozen locations scattered throughout the region. We always make time to get back to Babes for some of the best fried chicken I've ever had in my entire life! This restaurant does not take reservations! Strongly suggest that you try to come during off peak hours to avoid extensive waits although there is plenty of seating outdoors, and usually becomes a community event to see you can get in first! We arrived mid afternoon and had a 30 minute wait, which went pretty quickly. Once inside, we found this particular location very dimly lit to the point where it was almost hard to see! Our server was very busy and it took her nearly 10 minutes to get to us, but once she had time to catch her breath.our food was out in short order. This location has two options chicken and chicken fried steak family style. All meals come with a wonderfully crisp, house dressed green salad, along with sides of creamed corn, green beans, mashed potatoes, and biscuits with gravy. All of the sides are just outstanding and hard to avoid filling up on that to save room for chicken. This is an all you can eat so sides are continuously refilled until you can't have take it anymore! The chicken portions are more than generous. The chicken is exceptionally moist as they brine it for a day before they prepare it for cooking. You will not leave this restaurant hungry. This is a BYOB restaurant. There is a brewery, conveniently located just across the street and a growler of the year blonde beer nice and cold went wonderful with our fried chicken. The prices are unbelievably reasonable. for $20 per person you can have an excellent meal and a nonalcoholic beverage. If you're looking for some outrageously, excellent fried chicken, this is the place to go. I hope they turn the lights up just a little bit so that you can really enjoy what you're eating!

Yelp
Best fried and smoked chicken ever. Their mashed potatoes create an extreme addiction and the corn is so yummy. The green beans are delish and you will want extra biscuits and salad!! The sad part was they were all out of desserts (which is ok bc we were too full to have any!)

Betty S.

Yelp
Food was average. The chicken tenders are better at Chicken Express. Green beans overcooked. Waitress was very pleasant, but we were seated at such a small table, the bowls wouldn't fit, making it not a great experience. Ambiance is somewhat entertaining but the noise level is very high.

Jo R.

Yelp
Best fried chicken ever. Best corn and green beans and rolls. Picked up the order to feed 12 people. Everyone loved the food

Yelp
I ordered food for curbside pickup today at around 1:00. Curbside was clearly marked which was good as traffic and parking is not good. Lots of good things in the area, but parking wasn't considered very well. Ordered chicken and pie. Food was excellent as always. Prepared and packaged very well. No individual drinks were available, so I had to stop elsewhere to get a drink. The curbside service was odd as one person came out and got my name and another person delivered it to the car. I will definitely come back. I do like the curbside service.

Luv C.

Yelp
Catfish was too salty. Corn was good. Other vegetables could use a bit more seasoning. Server was great! Very festive for the holidays!

Yelp
Had this place a few times already and it never disappoints. Their chicken is super crispy and delicious.

Yelp
Best chicken in town. Hands down. Food served family style and is always fresh. I will return. Great place for birthdays.

Yelp
Great food Great wait staff There are plenty of other chicken places but this one is Our fav ed@jimenez.com

Yelp
Great food, awesome service, very eclectic atmosphere. We ordered a bunch of different entrées but we really all preferred the fried chicken. The sides are unlimited and they'll bring as many as you like. I'll go back again and again.

Yelp
Wonderful food!, great service! No menus, family style plates. Hot all you can eat biscuits and the sides are all you can eat!! Our server Emma was attentive and kind! Great experience:)

Yelp
Well this was not an enjoyable experience for me... I admit that I messed up coming alone, since it looks to be more of a family style place, but geez the business model sucks for a small person like me. - I luckily didn't have much of a wait. - My waitress was managing multiple tables, but I had to ask for Everything-- refills on tea, utensils, more biscuits (after already asking for another one that never came before the meal even came). - I'm becoming more aware of accessibility in the world, and this "verbal menu" business is only to hide the prices from people and save a few bucks on printing costs and would not help someone who is deaf. I would hope they have printed menus for them though. I even had to ask for her to repeat the chicken options because the place is so loud. - The restaurant is ridiculously dark. I thought I was going crosseyed half the time. - This whole "unlimited sides but no to go boxes" is SO BAD. They didn't even have cups for to go drinks. I understand the profits they make from this, but wow it was not fun to pay for a not cheap meal but not be able to take home any of the original sides that I paid for but was only able to eat a third of each. Infuriating to be forced to create that much food waste. - On the food front, the chicken was good, but I can go to dang Popeyes and get a better experience than this. Everything was really salty. The salad was goofy with the iceberg lettuce and sweet dressing. The green beans were utterly burned, and they were not good to eat. The corn and masked potatoes were quite good. The gravy was Really good I have to say, and so were the biscuits. The billboards that I see driving through Texas got me in the door, but I will not be back any time soon unless I'm with a group and someone else is paying.

Chris M.

Yelp
Roasted chicken to die for. Mashed potatoes awesome. We had a great time. Servers engaged kids in dance. Hokey Pokey.

Yelp
It was my first time hearing and I was very disappointed. Mediocre food & poor service. Skip this place
google avatar

Martha N.

Yelp
Babes is a family style restaurant. They keep the lighting very dim and the restaurant is often decorated whimsically with southern decor. You order your protein or main dish, which you can choose from their delicious fried chicken, chicken fried steak, chicken tenders, fried catfish, or smoked chicken, and you get unlimited sides of homemade southern sides like mashed potatoes, buttered corn, green beans, gravy, and biscuits. The service is hit or miss. Also, they don't have to-go boxes available...just plastic baggies. Overall, the food is great, the service is ok, and if you are looking for a good ole' southern meal, this is your place...with plastic baggies. I hope they get to-go boxes soon.

Yelp
Horrible service today for lunch. My daughter came in town from college and we celebrated her birthday there. The pack you in like sardines and we happened to be lucky enough to be under the speaker. It was so loud in the restaurant that I couldn't sing Happy Birthday my daughter. I had to ask another waitress for a refill when our server was nowhere to be found. All the while one of the managers just standing watching but not doing a thing to help! Do better management! A family of 6 is not cheap! Went away with a migraine headache!!!
google avatar

Pamela R.

Yelp
My sister & neice took me to Babe's for my birthday (March). Serve was fair though we ask to be moved, they had their tables TOO close together ! We got table against the wall & we placed our order. The chicken fried steak was so thin and rough. The green beans had black stuff on them like they were burned ! The meal was bad but to top it off all 3 of us got sick with horrible color diarrhea and throwing up. I went to Urgent Care due to UTI a couple days later and the test also found E Coli in my system. Makes me wonder if that came from Babes Bad Food. We Will Not Go Back !! Sorry No Pictures

Nate H.

Yelp
I always love babes but when me and my family went in last night our server was just rude and unfriendly to be around. Normally we always have amazing service and the restaurant its self has an amazing feel to it, but last night was just awful. Food is amazing just wouldn't recommend Gianna as your server.
google avatar

Kacey C.

Yelp
The food is absolutely 5 stars. Truly great home cooking! But as a first timer, it's frustrating that there are no menus to look at to better understand the pricing. Our server did not explain the pricing very well. This is definitely a pricey meal for chicken tenders. To make it simple, it's $18 per person. This gets you 7 tenders and unlimited sides. If you want to split with someone (which makes the most sense because the portions are huge) then they charge you to split which is about $11 in addition to the price of the meal. So for two of us, after tip, it ended up being close to a $40 lunch. They also don't have to-go boxes to take advantage of the huge portions you're paying for. Our service wasn't great. We had to continue to ask for refills as our server would walk by and not offer them. Refills would take a very long time to make their way to the table after asking. I would come back for the quality of the food but the service and prices were not impressive.

Liz M.

Yelp
Overpriced. Chicken overcooked , almost burned. Green beans were burned or just cooked weirdly. Everything else was good. Walked away full, so I found enough to eat.
google avatar

Chris R.

Yelp
The unlimited sides that you get with this place is extremely amazing. Also, the green beans are fantastic and the chicken is amazing. Service is so good here. Very fast and efficient. They don't miss a beat.
google avatar

Jim N.

Yelp
This is a must go to restaurant. You'll definitely will love the fried chicken, with all the fixins. Service is very friendly, and quick.

Tanner

Yelp
service was honestly awful, the food was good but it didn't make up from the poor service, the area around my table was a mess and my waitress gianna ignored us most of the time. everything was slow. i don't know if we will be back
google avatar

Mary Anne B.

Yelp
Really y'all can do better. Last draw the portal potties outside. The stairs to them were very steep. The door was heavy. I just had surgery and that was a very scary experienc. The green beans seemed watered down and the corn mashed potatoes and gravy were not even hot. Do better.
google avatar

Bobbie B.

Yelp
The food is always great there. It is close to a homemade meal. The atmosphere is great and the service is always spot on.
google avatar

Ginny G.

Yelp
The service was exceptional and the ambiance was very unique. We were disappointed in the steak however; mostly breading and the small amount of meat was very tough. Perhaps we'll stop by again sometime for another try. Perhaps fried chicken next time. Note: this steak was very small compared to pictures from other reviewers.

Jeff M.

Yelp
The food is ALWAYS AMAZING! The service is stellar as well. Always crowded on the weekends and the young men and women do a fantastic job!
google avatar

Jc M.

Yelp
Good food, don't eat here as much as we have in the past because it has become a little on the expensive side.
google avatar

Makayla M.

Yelp
It's VERY dark inside. Family style food serving. You choose what entree you want (I always do the chicken tenders) and then it comes with salad, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, and green beans. The chicken tenders are SO crispy. The salad is by far the weirdest salad I have had- it comes with ONLY lettuce and a sweet (?) dressing, the mashed potatoes, gravy, and corn are nothing special. Every hour, I'm not sure what time, they do the hokey pokey and kids are encouraged to join!

Edward M.

Yelp
the smoked chicken and chicken fried steaks are good. the fried chicken is fried chicken, whst can you say? The family style srved vegetables are where its at. the mashed potatoes are good. but the corn, oh the corn! i could eat a bowl myself. great place, i have been to three locations all good food.
google avatar

Manuel C.

Yelp
Ok first Babes food is always delicious and service is always pleasant and fast but the service today was horrible maybe due to the manager not being on the floor as usual but the waitress ( Delaina ) was very short with my family and it bothered her when we would request anything i guess so much that we had to get up and get our own refills. If you don't like what you do then go do something that you're happy doing! My family and I love babes when family come in from out of town this is where they always request to go eat!!! please don't let this place go down hill due to a few bad eggs!! I know people have bad days let's hope this was one of those days I'm not giving up on you yet Babes!!
