We used to avoid Babka for years after a very disappointing experience about 3-4 years ago: we sat outside, our order was forgotten, and after waiting 1.5 hours without food, the manager came out to tell us they were closing the terrace. When we explained we had been waiting all this time, he quite arrogantly said it wasn’t his fault and blamed regulations, while the real issue was simply forgetting our order. They offered a leftover dessert without letting us choose, and we ended up paying a full bill for a very poor experience.
Recently, we decided to give Babka another chance, and it was a much better visit. Portions and prices were fair, service was kind, the Middle Eastern flavors were pleasant, and the interior is cozy. Glad to see they improved, but I still remember the previous experience, so it took us a while to come.
