Bacaro Quebrado

This is a true local gem. It’s small, but eating outside on the street during Christmas time made the experience special and different. The food was amazing — not typical restaurant food, but better than homemade in its own way. The seafood pasta was outstanding. I loved the homemade cheesecake so much I had two. The bacon pasta was fantastic as well. Sitting in the street, enjoying food like this, felt simple, warm, and unforgettable.

This place is amazing! My friend and I ate here to start out our visit in Venice and what a way to start a girls weekend! So delicious, lovely service, and overall delightful experience. We will definitely be coming back during future visits. ❤️

Best lasagna I have had. Amazing vibes as the people love working here and the locals were playing cards. It’s a small place but I went pretty late, so didn’t have any wait. They have a wide variety of cichettis ( added a picture of the cichetti menu, so people can take a look ) and the waiter was very nice. The menu was also very well designed with good English descriptions. Thanks a lot for the complimentary limoncello.

Very good lasagna! Rich, hearty, and perfectly layered with generous portions of cheese, meat, and sauce. The balance between the creamy béchamel, tangy tomato, and savory filling was spot on, and every bite felt comforting and satisfying. The pasta was cooked just right, not mushy, and the top had that ideal golden finish. Service was friendly and the atmosphere warm, making it a great spot for a relaxed meal. Definitely one of the best lasagnas I’ve had and a place I’d happily return to.

Had to wait around 20 minutes to get a table but it was worth. Probably the best restaurant ever in Venice. Prices are amazing, food quality is even better. We ordered the seafood pasta, lasagna, tiramisu, asperol spritz and limoncello spritz. They even gave us free shots at the end. Great meal.

We went to a restaurant during our trip. The waiter was very friendly, and since the place was full, we waited outside for a bit — during that time, they kindly offered us champagne. The food was incredibly delicious, and the service was fast. The staff were all very cheerful and welcoming. The cicchetti I had were some of the best I’ve ever eaten in my life. I’ve tried them in other places too, but the taste here was truly special. Everyone was happy with their meals. Afterward, they treated us to dessert. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant! We were looking for a traditional restaurant and ended up finding one of the best. The service was a solid 10 — super attentive and friendly. The food is authentic, with typical dishes and generous portions, and the atmosphere couldn’t be better: a small, warm, cozy, and truly traditional place. Prices are very reasonable and the food is excellent. A must-try is the homemade tiramisu — the best we had! Without a doubt, if we return to Venice, we’ll come back here.

Honestly I loved this place. Service was great, food was great. I had the gnocchi and a salad and everything was tasty. I also had like 3 aperols and they gave a free limoncello shot. I feel like the prices were just right cause I spent less than 40 on all of this. I'd definitely come back.

Amazing service and food! I came with a party of 6 people around noon and they were able to seat us outside. We kept asking the waiter for additional dishes and drink because they were so delicious! Would definitely recommend the red pesto.

Went on a cold and raining night for dinner. The interior only has 4 tables. I was lucky to be snag the remaining one. Food was good. You get complimentary bread. Had an Aperol spritz which every table had and the two outside as well. Ordered the spaghetti with cuttlefish ink. It was a filling tasty dish. Service was good.

Bacaro Quebrado was the first place we had dinner at in Venice. Unfortunately, this restaurant doesn't take reservations, so we arrived just a little after 7, and didn't get seated till a little after 8. So we waited for about an hour before we got seated. So keep that in mind, if you're trying to eat here. There are also not a lot of tables here, so if you have a large party, you will definitely be waiting a long long time. We got some of the fried mozzarella to share, which was pretty good! I also got a little serving of mushrooms that were doused in oil. They were pretty tasty! For my main dish, I got the pesto pasta, and my wife got a pasta dish, but I can't remember which one it was. It was good though! My pesto pasta was excellent!!! I am normally not a fan of pesto, but this dish was excellent! It wasn't an overwhelming taste of pesto like how it can be in some dishes. It's a pretty popular dish here as well. I saw a few tables that had it when we went to our table. All the food was great! Bacaro Quebrado isn't an expensive restaurant at all. Everything is very affordable, and they don't make you pay so much. The portion sizes of our pasta were pretty big too. We sat inside, but there are a few tables outside. It's the kind of place, where you sit wherever you're seated, because they don't have a lot of space to accommodate your preferred seating. I would definitely come back here if I ever found myself in Venice again in the future.

Saw the review and found this place for dinner. It was full when we arrived but didn't wait long for a table. The service was very good and welcoming, unlike some of the higher priced places we dined during this trip. Ordered the trio of cod which I didn't like it much but the seafood and pesto pasta were tasty. Best of all, very good tiramisu! Highly recommend this place. Price is reasonable.

I ordered one of the specials, the scampi. The shrimp were HUGE. They were still in their shells, but I don't mind getting messy. Honestly, this is some of the best pasta I have EVER had. 10/10, would recommend. If you're in Venice, you've got to go here.

A really good spot for traditional, affordable Venetian food. They have a huge cicchetti menu along with traditional pasta and meat dishes. The servers were friendly and extremely helpful making recommendations and accommodations for us while we waited for our table. There was a 30 minute wait on a Wednesday night in April, but absolutely worth it. My carbonara was excellent and my sister's pesto was super fresh.

Service was 10-10. The cost atmosphere is cool. Very chill vibe with of course a lot of foreigners. The atmosphere is chill very mellow vibes with their inside sitting. The food was excellent I did try a lot of things because why not!!!! The steak was actually good it wasn't bad at all and of course the grilled veggies. This place is the def worth checking out in the middle of their maze of a city. Good little spot!

This is a very casual home style restaurant and I loved it! We started off with Hugo spritzes that were fresh and not overly sweet. They brought out our caprese salad and the tomatoes were ripe and the cheese was firm and creamy. It was really lovely! My partner got the carbonara and didn't even speak for 10 minutes because he loved it so much he wolfed it down haha. I got the eggplant parmagiano with pesto and it was salty and cheesy! I did think the eggplant got a little overcooked because it was a bit chewy but flavor was good. I'd definitely come back here if I'm back in Venice!

Decent prices, especially in Venice! Nice quiet place to eat in a bustling city. My cacio e pepe was average but my partner's lasagna was SO good.

A very affordable and delicious spot for lunch or dinner. We stopped in for a few drinks and snacks before our early dinner. The snacks they have on their menu are all delicious. Try the Aranccini and the sandwich melts - so mouthwateringly good. The pasta bowl (pasta ala pomodoro - 8€) was the perfect portion size and sauce was fantastic. Service was attentive and very friendly. This is a great spot to sit outside and enjoy a few drinks while cooling off from a hot day.

I loved the outside sitting area, it didn't feel crowded and you had lots of space. Plus it's very covered with umbrellas so that's a win. The food was AMAZING!! I loved this place and dream about this pasta constantly lol. Remember to pay at the front because we didn't realize that for awhile.

The best meal we had in Venice. Get some of the cicchetti - I highly recommend the Cacio e Pepe polpette. Amazing. And the lasagna was fantastic. Very reasonably priced.

This place is straight up nasty If you look up the English translation of this restaurant it translates to "The Broken Tavern" And boy are they are not lying! This place sucks!! I got a mini pizza it looked like it came out of a frozen pizza box and it was minuscule. I also got the bolognese lasagna. They served it in a bowl on top of a plate. The bolognese was hiding somewhere between the bowl and the plate! It tasted like shitty Mac and cheese. This place is absolutely awful. DO NOT GO HERE I can basically guarantee these people faked their reviews so hope anyone looking at this restaurant reads this or else you'll be HIGHLY disappointed

Loved the service! Food was amazing and the service by Giovanni was the best. Definitely a surprising restaurant that's hidden.

Came here due to the 4.5 star rating and now have to submit a review after our experience. The food was decent but wasn't anything special. There was no bread to start, no limoncello to finish. There was no service at all after the initial order. As a matter of fact, when a staff member broke a bottle and pieces of it hit us in the legs, they pretended we were not sitting there. Definitely do NOT recommend.

Heard of this place on TikTok, and was voted one of the best restaurants in Venice. Took forever to find it probably finally did. It really didn't look like much. Couple of tables inside and a few tables outside. We waited about 40 minutes for a table. We ordered some fried fish apps ... all were sub par. and I'm being nice. My wife ordered a carbonara. I had to say it was awful. They shouldn't even call carbonara. I ordered the white eggplant parmigiana pasta. Except there was no pasta. It was just dried eggplant. Stuck to the side of a bowl inedible. I never thought I would ever say that about eggplant. I'm eaten every which way in the world and it's my favorite food ever ....this sucked. I don't know how anybody could say. This is one of the best restaurants in all of Venice. 0.0

HIDDEN GEM! MUST TRY!!!!! We came back for the second night in a row and were met with kindness. They recognized us right away and said that there would be a 20 minute wait but it ended up being 5 minute wait tops. It was busy but the staff had it under control and had such a positive attitude. Told us history of the bread served to us which we were appreciative of. Food was quality and obviously fresh. MUST COME HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had read the reviews for this place before coming here and most of them were positive, mainly stating the pasta was amazing or the best they have had. We arrived at 9 pm and waited outside for 20 minutes. When we went inside we were told we were the last table of the night. We ordered the carbonara and the gnocchi bolognese. Both were not anything memorable. The gnocchi tasted like chef boyardee and we have had way better carbonara in the states. The bread was also stale. The service made up for it a little. The servers were very nice and gave us complimentary dessert and limoncello. Restaurant was small.

The noodle dishes (gnocchi and lasagna) were overcooked, they tasted like they were reheated before serving. Everything we ordered was mediocre (seven "snacks" we ordered and two entrees and free bread) and we got the vibe this place is mostly frequented by students who study abroad in Venice and want somewhere cheap to eat. Good news is we only spent 40 euros!

Service was awesome, super friendly and helpful. Carbonara was bomb! Loved the creamy sause and pasta Al dente, with large pieces of crispy bacon!!! Some of the Best carbonara I've had. Thanks for taking care of us.

Between two of us we ordered the soar and more than half the tapas offered and while some were good, most were mediocre that tasted like something you could've bought prepackaged at the store. The service was excellent! I don't think we'd come again but I'm happy we tried it

Great resturant! Visited Bacaro twice on our visit to Venice and the sweet girl made us feel welcome the first time and on the second visit it felt like we were family. Delicious food, drinks, and the tiramisu was the best I've ever tasted.

The price wasn't good, wine was good, food was underwhelming and service was disappointing. We ordered the carbonara and the gnocchi bolognese, like another review said the bolognese tasted identical to chef boyardee and the carbonara was far from anything impressive. The waitress seemed disinterested with being there or helping us, we didnt get the bread at the beginning of our meal (which I assume is complimentary as every other table received it), and we waited for over 20 minutes after asking for our check before needing to ask again. As far as environment, it's not bad but it's just a simple small spot in a back alley of Venice. No real views or impressive aesthetics/vibes. I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Amazingly friendly service, way above and beyond what your going to get most anywhere in Venice, or any touristy city in Italy for that matter. They make you feel like family. Our path to the restaurant took us the through a narrow walk way that you had to duck under to walk through. They have great Venetian snacks called Cicchetti which are not to be missed. Dishes here turn over often because they are only using fresh, in season ingredients. Kids loved the lasagna and hole adults dined on seafood gnocchi, baked eggplant, shrimp, and fish. Prices were very reasonable.

The food was quick, servers were nice, and it was some of the best cacio e pepe I have had in Italy! It was also pretty affordable!

Visited in October 2019 Went here based on the positive reviews and it seemed a bit less touristy (of course, it is difficult to not be touristy in Venezia). Booked a table online, when I got there I noted that the restaurant was really small and that my reservation (although confirmed online) was not taken properly. We were instead offered a table outside which we accepted although it was a cold night. We ended up moving inside to the window seats and ordered. Lasagna was very good, as was the tiramisu. We also tried the amatriciana pasta which was different than what we were used to. A dried spice in there that was out of the ordinary. All in all, deducting one star for the food, and one star for the lack of reservation.

We stayed at this restaurant for about 10 hours throughout the whole weekend. highly recommend the Aperol Spritz. Servers were super great and even gave us drinks waiting in line. Super accommodating for our group and the weather conditions. loved the free limoncello shots at the end. The tiramisu was amazing! Margherita and Isabella took phenomenal care of us

This was the first restaurant I tried in Venice. I really wanted to try Cicchetti. I sat down and order my first spritz and we ordered 8 different kinds of Cicchetti. Fish and little sandwiches and potato balls. They were ok, some of the flavors were good but they came out cold and seemed like they were reheated. I was disappointed. We almost left to find another restaurant but we decided to try the pasta, based on their reviews on other websites. I'm so glad we did! The carbonara was good and the seafood gnocchi was excellent! I highly recommend the entrees, just skip the Cicchettis

Please give this place all of your service, for they deserve it! We were instantly greeted by the most friendly energetic waiter and instantly felt so welcomed. The food was absolutely incredible and was really well priced. The place was so clean and cozy as well. The service however, was just outstanding! I felt so welcomed ! My cappuccino was wonderful as well!

Awesome service!! We had a great time and the ambiance was the best. Can't recommend this place more.

We showed up without reservation around 7:30 on Saturday night and the waitress offered us a table inside, which we gladly accepted as we were starving. The menu indicated that we were in for a low key night with friendly service, relaxed atmosphere and a comfortable environment. Our experience exceeded our expectations. We order the fried rice balls, carbonara pasta, veggie pasta, and a round of drinks. The food was fantastic. Everything came out quickly even though the restaurant was packed. Our waitress had everything under control. She was fast to bring new drinks, the check, and even an after dinner shot! Dinner was great. This is an excellent place to sit back, relax, and enjoy a delicious meal.

Very friendly to get you in the door! Ordered a salmon steak that was so over cooked that you could bounce it on concrete! During dinner no one came to check on how the dinner was and then when we told them at check out, Sorry, leaned up against the door and asked if we paid about 5 times, not because he was going to make it right, but seemed more that he wasn't going to let us out until we paid, which we told him we had each time he asked. We think the owner was the cashier and when we told him, after he took our money, he stormed into the kitchen like he was going to so something about it however he never came back. We eventually left! But was very impressed with the service and leadership of the establishment! On another note, there was a young kid that was very friendly!

We had lunch here during our stay in Venice and loved it. I had the pasta with tomato sauce. It is a simple dish, but was the best meal I had in Venice. The guy working was friendly and upbeat. He was singing along to the music playing and just seemed to be enjoying life. It made for a fun, enjoyable atmosphere.

This small Italian restaurant is fantastic! The owner is extremely friendly, and made us feel welcome from beginning to end. The quality of the food matched the hype we had heard about this place. We had a salmon gnocchi (dumplings) that was fantastic. The tiramisu cake at the end was also delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone in Venizia looking for a casual dining experience.

Great find in Venice! Food was awesome (try the sarde in saor, a venetian tradition), staff was friendly, prices were great, and, most importantly, this place is out of the packed touristy hub.

So glad we found this place! Service was amazing, the staff was super friendly and every dish was tasty. We couldn't decide on which dish was our favorite. Great happy hour prices. The stuffed olives went well with a pitcher of white wine.

Super! We each had a soup, we shared a plate composed of one of each of the non-meat cichetti (little bites), each a bottle of sparkling water and a dessert -- tiramisù and a wonderful cake -- all for 35 € total. It was delicious. A great find, especially compared with all the restaurants of Venice where we could barely have had an appetizer each for that price.

Spectacular local joint. If you want an authentic local meal, great service and great food at a very reasonable price, this place is a hidden gem. If you're looking for a swank, posh dining experience, this probably won't meet your needs. Don't let the homey appearance deter you from what will be a great dining experience. We couldn't have had a better experience being waited on by Greta and eating food prepared by Giacoma.

Delicious food and amazing service from Elisa and Magdalena. Interesting menu including a variety of small plates. We loved it. Make a reservation as it is quite small and very popular.

My husband and I ate here the second night of our honeymoon and were not disappointed. First, we were surprised with this amazing happy hour (runs 5:30-8:30pm I believe). You pay 5 Euro each and this gets you a drink of your choice (we each got wine) and unlimited trips to a free buffet that contained meats, cheeses, bruschettas, and pasta. You could have easily made a meal from that if you wanted. We also ordered arrancini and a pasta dish each for dinner. Pasta was incredible. The best thing about this place though was the vibe - it felt so authentic and welcoming. All the staff were incredibly friendly. A man who I believe to be the owner, chef, or both, was so charismatic and friendly. He welcomed us immediately, was singing and dancing the entire time, speaking with people off the street constantly (either they were friends of his or he treated them as such), and offering cuts of fresh salami. As their menu states, if you're looking for something trendy, this isn't it. But if you're looking for something delicious and authentic and overall exceptionally enjoyable, this is the place to go.

This place was next to the apartment we rented during our trip to Venice. It was by far the best priced restaurant/trattoria we ate the whole vacation. Portions were great for the price. Their tiramisu and polpette were out of this world!
