A Wonderful Boutique Hotel in a great Location.
The Bach Suites Saigon, was definitely one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in throughout our Asia travels. Do not be put off because this is a brand you might not have heard of, it was absolutely first class.
We arrived at the hotel quite late in the evening and were immediately offered a drink and biscuits, while we checked in. Check in was quick, smooth and efficient and we were soon shown to Room 503 on the fifth floor.
The room was a slightly quirky shape, but large for an Asian room and very clean and modern and had a firm but comfortable bed, a large Samsung TV, fridge, safe etc. There was a free mini bar refreshed daily and a lovely modern bathroom, with a very funky shower. Everything felt very premium and was nicely branded with the hotel logo. Towels were thick and the body wash, shampoo and conditioner was all very good quality.
The pool was on the rooftop. It wasn't very big, but was never busy enough for that to be an issue. It also had a small gym on the top floor, with TV and free water.
The pool area was delightful, with a very arty design and some nice views.
Breakfast was very nice on a dining room filled with class and character. There was a nice mix of fresh fruit and fruit juices, a small selection of Asian choices and some western staples like croissants, pastries, bacon and sausage, plus an egg station making the most beautiful omelettes.
No real negatives to report, pool size maybe, our bed had a slight squeak, but was very comfortable.
And saving the most important point to last. Location. We were a 3 minute walk to Notre Dame Cathedral (which was covered in scaffolding by the way. We were 5 minutes from the Royal Palace and a similar distance to the brilliant War Remnants Museum. The area was full of restaurants of all types and all budgets.
If we visit Saigon again and hod willing we will, it's a fascinating city, we would definitely stay at the same hotel.
