Back 40 Ranch House Grill

We stopped there for lunch. We sat on the outside terrace which faces the fields. Very nice and quiet with a view on the wildlife around. We tried the chicken burger, the shrimp tacos and a beef burger. Delicious, tasty and fresh. Our waitress was extremely nice. I can only mention that the terrace was not very clean but as we arrived late for lunch (around 2pm) the service was probably almost over.. great stop on the road

We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon around 2 for a late lunch. The place was packed and though the crowd thinned some, the steady flow of folks coming in even at almost 3 speaks to the great food and service you will find here. The service here is great. Our server was hustling the whole time we were there, but our drinks never got empty and our food was piping hot when it arrived. We are always looking for new places to eat in our travels and having things that are gluten-free is important. Not only do they have dishes that are fully free of wheat products, they also have gluten-free buns and breads that are quite delicious. He had an omelette and potatoes with gluten-free toast; I had wings and sweet potato fries. Both were so tasty that I completely forgot to take a picture before… so you’ll only see the remains. We will definitely be back!

The food was excellent and the place gets very busy, so reservations are a must. I loved the surf and turf, my wife had the fillet mignon stroganoff and absolutely loved it. My so had the red barn 1/2 chicken and said it was some of the best chicken he's ever had. Service was awesome and the food came out quick.

Delicious. Pastrami made in house, Parmesan French fries incredible, loved the salmon salad. Was packed when we went. Waited a bit for a table and for our food but was well worth the wait.

GO! Back 40 is great. Great atmosphere, great food, great service. I LOVED the ceasar salad and fries. Everyone else loved their meals as well! A little bit pricey, but great food.

Had an awesome meal at Back 40 Ranch House Grill last weekend! The poblano chicken soup was rich and delicious, the wings had the perfect amount of crisp and flavor, and the Back 40 Burger was cooked just right - juicy and packed with flavor. Everything hit the spot! Also, we couldn’t help but notice a neighbor’s Bloody Mary - wow! Definitely adding that to the list for next time. Great food, great vibe - can’t wait to go back!

This is an amazing place. The NY strip is the best we have ever had, and that declaration can be said about the lasagna and the salmon tacos also. This is a must stop by place, anytime, we are in the area!

Food: wings - juicy, saucy, meaty, 5 drums & 5 flats. Scampi with side of salmon perfectly cooked seasoned and generous portion. Did charge for Parmesan $1 which if I thought was just a complimentary topping. So just note that. Shared with my 2 toddlers who gobbled it all up. 1/2 fried bird, tasty and filling. Fries - standard little overcooked but nice seasoning with Parmesan and parsley. Peach cobbler - good the topping was more like rice pudding vs a traditional crumb Service: attentive without being pushy or overbearing. Perfect and available, also noticed when I looked in his direction. Ambience: bar, wooden tables and metal chairs. 2 unisex individual bathrooms. Casual.

This place is so good! It's got a ton of room for parties of all sizes and the service is consistently great! The bread is delicious. Been here a few times and I don't think any of the dishes are a miss. It's one of the few places where I'd actually say that whatever sounds good on the menu-just get it.

Oh back 40 how I love you! Back in the area so of course we had to stop by our favorite local spot for lunch. I have to say the steak was probably one of the best meals I ever had! It's awesome when you can have locally sourced beef literally from the cows that you're looking at that's perfectly prepared with a delicious side of asparagus And fries. The chimichurri sauce on the top of the steak was fantastic as well. I very rarely finish a full portion but I was in the clean plate club today. Great service from Lucy our server ambience is awesome with a incredible view of the mountains. Also the spicy margarita was outstanding. Can't recommend this place enough unfortunately I've never been able to have dessert here but all the selections sounded amazing.

Definitely our favorite restaurant in the area! Good service and super good food with fun vibes inside. Was a super long wait and couldn't get a reservation which was a bummer but very good wait list that lets you see your place in line from your phone. Not enough parking in the parking lot though. Also didn't try the burger myself but a guy in the group always gets a burger everywhere and stated "this is the best burger I have ever had in my life".

This is our go to dinner spot in Heber. The food is so good. Their drinks are awesome, and the servers (a few of which have been there forever) are so friendly and knowledgeable. We love sitting out back during the summer, as it is such a beautiful spot, but they have seating and heat lamps during the winter as you wait for your table out front- which is so nice. Dining experience is pretty casual, although the food is definitely elevated beyond casual dining. A must try for sure

Haven't been to the area in a while but on the way into town the place was packed .. whipped around and had a great dinner. The place was clean and staff hustling. The lady at the hotel raved about the chili and the stroganoff!!! Well she wasn't wrong both had a great taste and cooked perfect. I watch many dishes leave the kitchen to try next time and will definitely be back.. it's worth the drive after a day of skiing for some great food.

We stopped in Back40 for a quick lunch. It was a great choice. We had a burger and the best wedge salad I've ever eaten. Service was quick and competent.

Our meal was exceptional. We ordered sharable bites and entrees and everything was good. We had some friends in town and they all agreed that the service, cost, and food was amazing. This is a must stop if you're in the area

This is my kind of place! If you're visiting Park City, get away from Main Street and go get you a home cooked meal. They have chicken fried steak, burgers, tacos, the best lasagna and Lorddddd Jesus the desserts are GOOD! Get you a piece of that peach cobbler and a wheelbarrow to roll you out the door! I'd come back here any day.

We met friends here for dinner and had a great time. We all loved our meals and our service was great, too. We look forward to a return visit next year.

A 4.5 is good but this place should be even higher. This is a small town and we honestly didn't have high hopes. We are foodies so it's hard to impress us. We stopped in because we didn't want to drive back to park city and boy am I glad we did. The food was absolutely amazing. We ordered the poke wontons, beet salad, 2 steak dinners, poke bowl and fish tacos. We were too stuffed for dessert but we are going back before we leave back home. Every dish was delicious. I LOVE the fact that their steaks are literally from their back yard and organic grass fed. I am big on organic so that means a lot to me. And the water fresh from their aquifer was also delicious. As you can tell I'm nerding out on all this. I'm also a water snob so good water is a must haha. Jordan was our server and he was also a pleasure and very attentive. He brought condiments to the table without having to be asked and he gave the steak knife to mom instead of the child...that seems like common sense but you would be surprised. Not all servers have common sense. Over all great experience!

We were driving around and decided to check out Heber City. We noticed how busy and popular this restaurant was, so we stopped in. Back 40 Ranch House uses fresh, local ingredients from Heber and its surrounding valleys. Devin took care of us. Great service. He was funny, helpful, and friendly! The manager also stopped by and checked on us. Their table salt is real sea salt from Heber. The water served comes from their own well, which is over 200 feet deep. Their water did taste pure and clean! Cup of Lobster Bisque: Creamy and rich. If you get the bowl size, it has a lump of lobster meat and comes with bread. They had a Saturday special of Prime Rib, mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, au jus. Yep, I got it! Cooked medium rare. Locally sourced - very beefy and tender. The mashed potatoes were creamy. Aside from Daily Vegetable: carrots, broccoli, zucchini, yellow squash, and eggplant. Parmesan Parsley French Fries: The first batch came out cold, and Devin got us another one. They were crispy and hot. Good flavor. He also brought their house made Back 40 Fry sauce. We heard Utahns are known for their fry sauce. It was good, sorta like Red Robin's Campfire sauce. Their hoagie rolls are all baked fresh daily by Stoneground Bakery, located in Salt Lake City The Blood Orange Marmalade is provided by Pepper Lane Products, located in Midway Utah. Usually served on their salmon. But we got a toasted slice of bread to try it on. It has a slight kick in it from a pepper, maybe jalapeño. Oatmeal Berry Crisp: This came warmed up with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The dessert was warm, fruity, and sweet. Our great experience at this restaurant was marred by some idiot who side-swiped our parked car as they pulled out of their parking spot. Hit-and-run is against the law, jerk!

Got a reservation for a large group during dinner time and got seated in the area with a cozy yurt and fireplace. It was very uniquely decorated with pillows and blankets to keep all of us warm! The waiter was incredibly welcoming, helped us with recommendations and got our orders out very quickly. The portions they had were very generous! We tried many of their dishes including the Chicken Gorgonzola Past, Beet Salad, Steak Frites, Prime Ribeye and BBQ ribs - all were very delicious. We also had a birthday to celebrate and they were extremely considerate in getting a dessert ready, really appreciated the extra effort they provided to end our evening.

Service was top notch, quick polite knowledgeable. Meatloaf was a little dry and overcooked. No alternative options for no mushrooms. We are allergic and when we called to see if there were alternative options they said yes. The alternative was no sauce at all. Like the gravy for the meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Atmosphere was cozy and friendly. They were clean. Not sure if this would be my top choice next time I am in the area but pretty good overall.

My family loves coming here! Everybody has their favorite meal. I haven't found mine quite yet, but it's always a high quality meal. The portions are a bit large for just one person, but it's always nice to have some leftovers for home. It's always packed so come early or make a reservation. They do their best to get you to a table as quickly as they can.

The restaurant has an amazing view of some pasture fields. The food was delicious!! Everything we had tasted so flavorful. The prime rib was a huge cut and cooked to the perfect temp. The burger was cooked perfectly and had a great proportion of condiments. Chili was outstanding. Fries were nice and crispy. You must also have dessert!! Soo worth it! Our waiter Devin was so friendly and attentive! My husband and I will be visiting again soon!!

Back 40 Ranch and Grill in Utah provided a unique dining experience in their cozy yurt with a fireplace. The ambiance was rustic and inviting. The large entrees, especially the chicken and baby back ribs, were delicious and generously portioned. A perfect combination of great food and a charming setting for a memorable evening

You gotta eat here! The food and service are amazing. We ended up at the Back 40 after a long day's drive from CO and this place satisfied every craving we had. We started with the mac and cheese "appetizer". This was a BIG bowl of oozy, cheesy goodness with bacon and charred onions. Gobbled that down right quick. For dinner, my husband had fried chicken, mashed potatoes and a side of delish fresh sautéed vegetables. So good! I had the steak chili with chunks of tender beef and beans with a light sprinkle of cheddar cheese on top. I was feeling a need for greens so I had a side of green beans that were cooked perfectly al dente with butter and local mineral salt. Really hit the spot. Big shout out to our server, Bryce, who was on top of it and anticipated our every need while managing many other customers. This is our first time at the Back 40, but definitely not our last. We're looking forward to the next time we're lucky enough to eat here.

We did brunch on Sunday. Very good service. Very good food. Would highly recommend this place. Would definitely go there again.

This place is super kick ass. The staff is always extremely friendly, food is over the top awesome, made with very high end ingredients and tastes amazing. They even get their water from an 1000 foot well that's the best water you'll ever have. Love this spot

This place is absolutely lovely. As I was visiting from Southern California, this place was highly recommended so we gave it a try and wish I lived closer that I could go there on a regular basis. The food was absolutely incredible. We are a party of eight andeverything everybody ordered was so good. I couldn't recommend just one thing. You will enjoy it.

This hidden gem has come into the spotlight thanks to an article earlier this year in Salt Lake Magazine, which listed it as a must-visit. The food is truly exceptional, and we had a fantastic experience with the service. The only downside was that our steaks were overcooked. they tried to use locally sourced in all their dishes.

The stake frites where on of my top 5 steaks of my life. Perfectly cooked, awesome seasoned and soft as butter. Service was excellent and suggested a nice stroll in the neighborhood for sunset. I was so impressed that I had to return the next day

Was good for Heber. Def top 10 in the area. We tried like 15 things on the menu (large group) and I tasted most of them. I had the 12 oz prime steak. Was cooked medium and was perfect. Mom got the pork chop and said it was top 5 in her life. We got the ahi started and I could have eaten all 3 for my entree. We ended up with the crème brûlée and it was good... not the best I'd had but was overall good. Kids food came out fast! Overall a good meal!

So glad a friend recommended this to us! They have a relaxed atmosphere which is refreshing from some of the stuffier restaurants in Park City. Service was friendly and attentive. Drinks were consistently brought out fast. We enjoyed the chili cheese fries which were a hefty portion and delicious and the chicken gorgonzola pasta which was also a great portion and so delicious! Overall, great food and service. We'll be back!

Wow! Amazing experience here! Amazing scenery on the back porch! Incredibly tasty food and excellent service! The back 40 burger is a must! The green enchiladas are great too! Sweet potato fries are great! Can't go wrong with anything here! It's all good!

Excellent food, big burgers, fresh product, hot, lots of variety, sweet potato fries the best, We got Back 40 Burger, Circle American burger, Grilled Chicken Sandwich, salad, Parmesan Fries, Pastrami & Swiss. Smells wonderful when you pull in.

I walked in and felt like I was in Texas. Old country style restaurant with a cow field behind it. The ribs were really good. Very soft and tender. The wine was also good and helped digest the large full rack I had. The waitress was very nice and was prompt with our food and beverages.

If you live around town, this is the kind of restaurant you'll surely be a regular at...even when it's super busy. Whatever their role, the employees all work together to make your experience the absolute best! Back 40 has great ambiance and is always buzzing with cool vibes and fun energy! Ok, on to the food! We ordered one garden salad with grilled chicken, chicken gorgonzola, green enchilada's, chicken tacos and for dessert...a couple of oatmeal berry crisps...ALL YUM!!! Back 40 Ranch House is 5+ stars all around! Y'all need to check them out!

Perfect place for lunch with two grandkids. Great service and delicious food. The kids meals were adult size. The french dip and steak sandwich were great. Great ambiance, support local not chains.

Let me start by saying the atmosphere in the Back 40 is electric. You feel like you are sitting at the dinning room table of thanksgiving. Everyone is enjoyed great beverages and amazing food. The service was very quick and the food came out hot! Prices are extremely reasonable and the Hot Toddy packed a punch.

This is an Amazing place with Outstanding food and service. We were looking for someplace that was casual and comfortable and happened on to Back 40. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming and we were really surprised by the high quality food and atmosphere. If you're in the Park City area do yourself a favor and make the drive over. You WONT be disappointed !!!

The parking lot was crowded on a Friday night but we were able to sleet a seat quickly for 4 of us. The service was very professional and curious. We did not eat an appetizer but the main course was so good. My daughter had a hamburger with a gluten free bun with Parmesan cheese fries and she enjoyed every bite. I had the surf and turf special with a very tender steak that was cooked correctly with asparagus that i need to get the recipe for. My wife tried the salmon with risotto and I could not get over how good it was. We usually do not get dessert but based on the dinner we had to try the peach cobbler and the gluten free cheesecake, both were great. It is nice to have a restaurant with gluten free options that is not a plain salad. A place that you can eat delicious food and watch baseball.

This place was awesome! Very busy! Very good. They have indoor and outdoor seating. All of which, makes for an awesome place. They have TVs on the wall for everyone's entertainment. (Kinda a Texas Roadhouse fill). The food was really good. We got the chili cheese fries as an appetizer. Forgot to take a pic. My two youngest kids split the spaghetti and meatballs. All of which was good. What I didn't like with that is they charged for two small kids $10 meals instead of the 1 adult $14 meal. My oldest got the kids cheese burger. He said it was really good. Wife got the pastrami burger. Super tasty! She said she would give it a 9/10 I got the back 40 burger. We both gave it a 11/10. Super good. Enjoy!

Burger was excellent. Fries were inedible. Totally burned and over cooked. Horrible. Service was a bit below average. Can't give this place more than 3 stars.

Love this place. It's very busy so plan on waiting a bit for a table. The food and service are always great. I had the pasta with meatballs and it was very good. My husband had the prime rib. It was cooked perfectly how he likes it.

I went one time. Ate the fish. Didn't go back for 40 years. Came back. Waiter was top notch. Said his name was Ezra. He looked a lil like that new fangled Spiderman if he gelled his hair and wore glasses. Good food.

Usually this is our go to place for good steak etc. we asked about 3 weeks ago whether or not they had chicken fried steak and was told that they only had it on Sunday dinners. Well today we went for Sunday dinner and both ordered the country fried steak and I have to say very disappointing. It was overcooked very little gravy as if there were a gravy shortage and the mashed potatoes didn't even have gravy on them. We were going to try to ask for more gravy but in the end the waiter never returned and we were done by the time he did.

We spent the Valentine's night here and the steak was good, must try it. But it can be too busy so make sure you reserve a table.

Steak frites included the best steak I've probably ever had. Very well seasoned and perfectly, evenly cooked. And this is coming from someone who lives in Texas. Highly recommend this place for the ambiance and quality of food to anyone visiting the area!

Highly recommend this place and the roast beef dip! The service was such a vibe, and our server Kevin was awesome! This is a small diner in Heber, and I was worried about the table size, but they kept a good pace and made sure we weren't over crowded. I have never written a review so fast in my life. The charred onion dip and bacon Mac and cheese were bomb appetizers! Go get the roast beef though holy smokes!!! The au ju was soooooo by good!!!!

When the cows are grazing in the back; you know it's gotta be good. Steak was cooked perfectly. Been here winter time and summer time. Both times food was great but the view is better sitting outside in the summer.

The food was over expensive for the quality of it. The service is average nothing to wow about. It's a pretty chill bar place. I won't recommend.

Food was excellent. The staff is unbelievable! They were extremely busy so we sat at the bar and we were able to watch the serving staff as well as the kitchen staff. Everyone was having fun and helping each other out. I don't think there was a person who didn't ask or help us.

We've been meaning to try this place forever and so glad we finally had a chance to. We came on a Saturday around 4pm so we got seated pretty quickly. They have a bar area where we had a beer while we waited. They have a number of tables inside, but we opted to sit in their patio. They also had live music so it was nice. We ordered a Uinta IPA for drinks, the Prime Grade Rib Eye and Red Barn Chicken for dinner, and Old Fashioned Peach Cobbler for dessert. The steak was nicely cooked and the glaze was tasty. The fried chicken was juicy and the gravy was the best I've had! It's probably 90% butter lol which makes it yummy. The peach cobbler is not the traditional cobbler, but it was good. It reminded me of mochi - similar texture. The patio was surrounded by a farm and mountains all around, which made it such a unique spot to dine at. Great food with great views! This place can get pretty full and they don't take reservations, so just be ready for that or come during off peak times. There's parking around the restaurant. Service was very friendly and attentive. They had good recommendations on their menu and was quick to help when we needed it. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Utah! Great food, amazing views, and a very nice experience.

Anyone staying in Heber city should most definitely come to back 40 for dinner! The restaurant was super accommodating and got my group of 11 in for the same day mid dinner rush. Our server was fantastic in providing us dinner and drink recommendations. I absolutely loved that all of the beef was local raised and the restaurant has a sustainability mission. My meal I got the chicken Gorgonzola and the portion size was unreal. Everyone was very friendly to us (tourists) as well which we greatly appreciated. A must visit!!
