Beautiful location (close to a park, lakes and Ivö), amazing breakfast buffet and very friendly and attentive staff in reception and at the restaurants. Only improvement areas were: 1) there could have been more tables outside for the breakfast buffet; and 2) sound isolation in our room could have been better (we stayed in the old “cow stables”), where it was hard for us to sleep due to a small child screaming somewhere else in the building.

What a beautiful place to stay! The Bäckaskog Slott was a lovely stopover during our roadtrip around Skåne. The room was super cosy and clean, the dinner was delicious and the breakfast buffet very generous. We enjoyed the very calm atmosphere and the direct access to the lakes. All team members were very polite and always willing to help. We had an amazing time. Thanks a million!

A perfect stay in every way! We were greeted by the staff at arrival and they showed us where we could park close to our room. We had booked an accessible room which was well equipped for our needs. Breakfast was delicious with the best scrambled eggs and bacon we have tasted in a hotel. Very good selection of breakfast foods including pancakes. Staff attentive and helpful. We visited the castle grounds which are well-kept and beautiful. We are very grateful for our stay and would really like to return!

Great place to stay at. I spent 4 nights there in the Klostergården wing. I had some problems with my car and couldn't drive to the Sweden Rock Festival so, the kind folks from the Reception helped me to find a company to get to the Festival grounds. They did run an extra mile with what you call a customer experience. Then, at the last breakfast I was offered a sandwich and drinks to take out as I needed to wait for the towing car for 4 hours. Indeed, very generous of the Management. Tack, a thousand times! Not only did I have a place to sleep but also, I had a chance to meet new the people. So, the place itself is great, a castle, with rooms in the wings, a restaurant and a breakfast restaurant and a couple of stand-alone buildings upon the lake. All look just great and serve great food and drinks. There's a huge park, very well taken care of. If the weather is fine, you can walk the park for hours. I can honestly recommend this place for people looking for a peaceful, historical place to recharge.

Fantastic castle with very friendly staff. We visited during Halloween and joined the nightly ghost hunt through out the castle. The guide knew her story telling and was very professional. Great experience.

Didn't realize Sweden had all these monastery/forts. Wish we had time to roam around. The grounds were peaceful and the buildings were amazing. Next trip will spend more time wandering!

Fantastic atmosphere and really service-minded staff! Quiet, serene and a soothing place to stay at for 3 days. Great food and they also serve their branded Argentinian red wine 😊 Many different paths in and around the forest adjacent to the castle, perfect for a morning walk or a night out stargazing 🤩 Tip: go west to the small island and have a sit on the swing, take in the diverse wildlife of birds and foxes 😊👌🏼 Beautiful!

Very beautiful old castle Backaskog Slott is setting in a beautiful big park next to a big lake at the back of the park. The building used to be residents of royal surroundings with large trees, beautiful landscapes, and a garden.
