Backpackers Luzern

Me and my friend stayed here for three nights while we were exploring Lucerne. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. Our room was spacious and very clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were always clean. We had such a wonderful stay and enjoyed the beautiful view of the mountains and lake that we had from our balcony. The location was extremely convenient and close to everything. Would love to come back!

The hostel was VERY clean. Everything was sorted out, towels are 1 chf, sheets included and hosts are very nice! The hostel is located in a quiet neighborhood. Short bus ride from town and walkable, probably be careful walking alone in the dark. It is literally lake front which makes it even better. The boat brings his cute golden retriever too. Love this hostel. I stayed in a 3 bed private and it was great.

I had an amazing stay at this hostel! The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my visit. The location is perfect—close to public transport and easy to reach the main attractions. I especially loved the common area, which made it easy to meet other travelers. Great value for money, and I’d definitely stay here again! Miss Marina is very friendly she welcome me with good coffee and very supportive always help me whenever require.

Absolutely great place. The receptionist was super friendly and helped me call the hostel in Zurich to look for my passport because I didn't have a phone number. I got one bed in a two-bed room with shared bathroom, and the room was great. It was the first time I feel a bit of privacy in a shared room, and there was also a table in the room for both of us to share. The location was ok, quiet surroundings, and good public transport not far away.

Great hidden gem at Luzern! Friendly staff and easy checkin. I was a solo traveler and felt safe. Even the kitchen and hall space was accomodating. Washrooms were squeaky clean. View of the mountains and lake just across from the hostel outside. Bus stop was located near by to go the station. Very comfortable for day trips around!

Great rooms Yes to the beds! Had a private room with my friend. 2 separate beds. The room was good. Not very clean (some things under the bed, etc.), but good. Smell in the room. But when you were there for a bit, it was okay. Showers were good if you were first; you had a clean shower. If more went, it was yuk! (Clean up after yourself!) location: 10-15 min walk to a bus station. Not in the centre, but price-wise good! Free tea, free wifi in Lucerne, bad towels 1 frank. Free use of shared kitchen

People make places, and whilst I'd happily give 5 stars for the accomodation, facilities and prices relative to the rest of Switzerland, I want to give 10 stars to the host. I am not sure, but I think he is the owner or at least manager - Florian (and his gorgeous dog). I was made to feel so welcome, and he made sure to accomodate for my every need. I was working remotely and needed somewhere for my car. He allowed me to work there all day despite having checked out, park in his own private space for the time being, gave me a small adapter (to keep for my time in Switzerland) and was extremely friendly and forthcoming with info about Luzern. Only a short walk to the centre. I would recommend this place to anyone travelling through this area and looking for a more affordable option. The facilities were great, the showers and toilets were impeccably clean and I was even given a free upgrade to a single room as I would've been the only person in my dorm in 'low-season'. The big friendly, teddy-bear of a dog was the cherry on top. 10/10!!!

The hostel offers a city card that lets you ride local buses for free and gives discounts on some tour companies. It’s within walking distance of the train station — just follow the lake path. There’s also a supermarket nearby, and another one inside the train station. Check-in time 5 PM, but if you arrive early, there are secure lockers and a locked luggage are available. The building has an elevator, and the bathrooms, showers, and kitchen are all very clean. The common lounge is comfortable, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Overall, a very pleasant stay — highly recommended!

Great independent hostel, friendly and welcoming. Quiet, clean, and comfortable. Quick bus ride from the train station, and transit is free with a card they email before checkin. It's a very short walk to a nice park along the lake, and a nice walk to the city center as well. Lots of useful info on things to see. The setup of the common area is great: meandering around between two kitchens, with lots of types of spaces. There's a kids corner with some toys, and a foosball table.

My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights while in Luzern. It was about a 10-15 min walk from the main train station and downtown area. Most importantly, it was right next to a beach area, a great spot to people watch and see the boats go by. The staff was very friendly and accommodative, and we were impressed with the facilities. The kitchen area was stocked with everything you might need and there was a lot of lounge space on the main level. There were little seating areas by the staircases on each floor and plenty of bathrooms to go around. I saw some people hanging out in the evenings, but it was certainly quiet in the later hours, perfect if you're trying to get your sleep! Everything seemed to be clean and well taken care of. I highly recommend renting the paddle boards from the hostel, as they rented them out at a very discounted rate. I would stay here again if I was in the area!

Right on the lake and so close to Luzern station, A cheap price and clean facilities, for what else are you waitin'?! No towels or breakfast: some quick tips for you. But there's a bakery nearby for a bite of food! The lady up front was nice and helpful, but the other guests were rather loud. Still, this place's a great deal, and convenient too- try it if you're around!
