Backpackers Plus

First hostel experience and it didn’t disappoint! I loved every bit of this! Booked a private room and it was very clean and quiet at night. The staff were friendly. Breakfast was included which was nice, and free coffee, tea, and cocoa were offered! Although we didn’t use the kitchen, they appeared fully stocked and there were many herbs and spices free to use. I would definitely recommend this hostel to friends.

I have been fortunate to travel around the world, and this is by far the best hostel I have ever stayed at, and one I return to again and again. Beautifully designed taking an historic building and converting it for a modern purpose in an idyllic location. Comfy rooms and lovely touches such as the cosy lounge, free-to-use kitchen and Wi-Fi, and even hot chocolate included with the free drinks and breakfast! Thank you for being my happy place. What is for you won't go past you.

Such a nice place. The common room/area is really nice. All the staff are friendly. Private rooms are very comfy and all very neat, the dorms are slightly less comfortable (mattresses somewhat hard) but that didn't stop me from getting a good night's sleep. Friendly, well-run Hostel, was busy with a coach party but still quite manageable for our family visit. Very slightly disruptive being based in the annex, as the kids and I all prefer to hang out in the spacious common room, playing pool and card games, but it really didn't matter. Excellent value at £57 for a family room (5 of us). Highly recommended for a budget stay and good opportunities to meet interesting fellow travelers from different countries.

What a phenomenal stay. Located in a great town with a lot of history, BP is a great option for accommodations. The staff were amazing. You could see they loved their town and wanted travellers to see as much of it as they could. The rooms are themed well, a nice touch to poke fun at their Scottish heritage. I hope to travel through Oban again and would make this my place to stay in a heartbeat.

Great and cozy hostel. Has everything you wish for: nice modern rooms (USB Sockets!), clean bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, and the amazing sky lounge where you’ll always meet new and interesting people. Breakfast is included, very nice staff!

This is a great hostel and i could'nt wait to write a review about it! It's ran very efficiently with very friendly staff! Free breakfasts, very low price, very clean, very chilled with great social areas, with a great central location in a quirky building. - These are just some of the reasons i like this place so much. However, overall what made me impressed the most was the attention to detail which can be rare to find in some hostels. I've stayed in 50+ hostels over the last 12+ years and this one is in my top 5! If i was to ever run a hostel i would only hope it was this good! Round of applause to the staff and owner/s!

We have stayed in a lot of hostels in Oban, and Backpackers Plus is among the very best. A converted church, the atmosphere is excellent. The rooms are comfy and the facilities very good. Included in the price is breakfast. Highly recommended.
