Backpackers Villa Sonnenhof - Hostel Interlaken

I gave all 5 stars as it is a hostel. The staffs are super nice annd helpful, all of them! The facilities are well organized, clean, and comfortable. I have not stayed in hostel more than 20 years, this is a great experience to compare with the past. I highly recommend it to travelers and students.

One of the best share kitchen I have ever visited. Plenty of free food options and paid as well. Rooms can be a bit warmer on Summer afternoon due to the rising temperatures. I wish if they can put some fan or cooling devices. The staff is very cooperative. You also get the complimentary local travel pass for city excursion

Overall, it was a great experience staying here. The rooms and facilities were all clean. The staffs were friendly and nice. I met lots of other solo travellers at the hostel. It was like I found a community here. We shared our travel stories and advices on what to do and where to go.

We stayed in this place in the last week of April last year. We stayed in the family room. It was a very spacious room. The whole premise was very neat and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location of this place was also good. They had a big kitchen where you can prepare your food. They had a laundry area, indoor play area, big lounge room, superb mountain view from the hostel balcony, and a large outdoor playground. It's a very good place to stay with kids as well. The only problem we faced was with the shower place in our room. There was a shower curtain instead of a solid/sliding door. The shower curtain used to wrap around the body during the shower, and water used spill outside the shower area. As a result, it used to make the bathroom floor wet near the shower place. We informed the receptionist about this issue at that time. They used to supply us with plenty of towels to keep that area dry after taking showers. I suggested them to replace the shower curtain with a sliding door or any kind of door so that it can prevent the water from spilling out of the shower place. I hope they have fixed that issue. Anyhow, I strongly recommend this place. I will definitely stay in this hostel again when I visit Interlaken next time.

Excellent place for the price. Was so clean and spacious. Is pretty near to the little town which you can get almost everything. The facilities was good too. Peaceful area and the staff was so helpful, highly recommended.

You can tell they take hygiene seriously. 🏔️ Views: Nestled right in the heart of Interlaken, the views from the hostel are breathtaking. Waking up to the sight of those mountains was surreal. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Staff & Behaviour: The staff were some of the friendliest I’ve ever encountered. Super helpful, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about ensuring everyone has a good time. Their behavior towards guests felt more like family than service. 🛋️ Amenities: They’ve thought of everything – free bus passes, laundry, cozy lounges, computers, lockers, a huge garden area, and more. Even small details like plug points, reading lights, and a drying area show how well it’s run. 📍 Location: Couldn’t be more perfect – just a short walk from both Interlaken Ost and West stations, and close to restaurants, supermarkets, and scenic spots. You’re in the perfect base for exploring the Jungfrau region. 🌈 Vibe: The vibe here is calm, relaxed, and friendly. It's social without being rowdy – ideal for meeting people if you want to, or just enjoying some peace if you don’t. 📅 Long or Short Stay: Whether you’re here for one night or a whole week, this place feels like home. It’s peaceful yet well-connected. 👨‍👩‍👧 Good for Families Too: Yes! It’s family-friendly with quiet hours respected, big rooms, and enough space to move around without feeling cramped. It’s safe and welcoming for travelers of all ages.

Every thing is good , stay for a night. Highlight for this place is super large kitchen. Staff helpful and friendly. I'd say the best hostel in Switzerland as they've got a reward in Hostelworld.

The best hostel I have ever been to! View is stunning, the access to the very sophisticated and high class pool is included, almost everything is included and staff is nice and helpful. Minimal breakfast is also included! Highly recommended!
