Backpackers Villa Sonnenhof - Hostel Interlaken

Outstanding stay at this hostel! Rooms were nothing fancy but super clean and comfortable, the showers were also wonderful and very clean. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast which was served every morning at 7am. The location is great and close to shops, restaurants, train station etc. The kitchen space was a huge bonus for us as we made most of our meals there and it was always clean and well maintained. Furthermore, the hostel offers a variety of free activities that come with your accommodation including access to a public pool which we enjoyed as well. Overall excellent stay and would highly recommended!

Overall great experience!! If you are use to hostels this was a total gem!!! Would absolutely stay here again. The facilities are very well kept, the breakfast included each day was such a nice treat, the beds were good, the staff super friendly, lots of space and storage for bags even oversized luggage. Huge huge thank you to Eric and i believe Renee (blonde girl) for their amazing service, kind gesture and willingness to assist us on a small issue we had. They were really amazing! Highly suggested to backpackers and even those who are not Overall impressed

Awesome Swiss chalet in the midst of Interlaken, all facilities super clean, delicious open buffet breakfast, rooms large enough, with a balcony overlooking an orchard and the backdrop of misty mountains and valleys. The staff were always very obliging and kind, they definitely do their best to make your stay comfortable, they answered all my questions about hiking tips, sights and transport patiently. The villa is historical and wooden, walls and ceilings covered with lovely mouldings. The only downside is that the wooden floor trembles everytime someone walks over it, shaking the bed. Other than that, everything was great, recommended for daytrips around Interlaken or even for a chill out, lazing on the terrace breathing the mountain air and taking in the sight.

Wonderful experience! Polite & helpful staff, everything is well designed & thought off from keeping the luggage to, an amazing huge kitchen very well equipped, great alps view right from the room, lots of common areas to sit, free pass to travel in local. Civil roommates, we were in 8 bed. We had a great time here & would highly recommend this one!

Hands down the best hostel I’ve ever stayed at. Came from a nightmare hostel in Luzern and it was like night and day. The staff? EXCEPTIONAL The extras? SUPERB The surroundings? CANT COMPARE I felt so welcome and at ease here, the staff were so helpful and kind, other guests were respectful too which makes the whole stay better. I only wish I had stayed longer! You are paying for the best here, expect to feel at ease and with no worries. BEST HOSTEL EVER!

Rooms are super tiny. 6 people there and you can’t move from the locker to the bed. 2 toilets for 5 rooms with 6 people per room is not enough. Only one sink in the bathroom. Creates lines everywhere. Three showers. Not enough outside seating. Why Nov hairs in the beautiful garden? The kitchen is great. $10 for laundry is ridiculous. Breakfast super plain, but still better than nothing. Clean. Friendly staff. Nice shared kitchen. Good location. Not sure I would stay here again. Had better experiences in other hostels. (Bed are comfy compared to other hostels)

Me and my friends in our mid-twenties stayed here while we passed through Interlaken during a 10-day Europe trip. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I would definitely stay here again. The facilities were clean and the staff were welcoming. The provided breakfast was awesome and they even had a gluten-free section for those who can't consume gluten. This hostel also had laundry facilities (for charge), shared spaces to hang out, and a large kitchen and seating area.

Highly recommended hostel in Interlaken! Youth Hostel Sonnenhof is clean, well-managed, and pleasantly simple. Everything is straightforward and practical. The price-performance ratio is excellent – you get exactly what you need: a comfortable stay without unnecessary extras, but with solid quality. Simple and good – I’d gladly come back!
