Backpackers Villa Sonnenhof - Hostel Interlaken

We had a wonderful stay here. We originally booked for 2 nights, but loved it so much that we extended our stay to 6 nights. The team is extremely supportive, friendly, and helpful. Special thanks to Nitin, Sara, and Eric, and to all the staff who shared great local tips and made us feel at home. We also spent New Year’s Eve (31 Dec 2025) here and enjoyed the fireworks on 1 Jan 2026 — a truly memorable experience. Warm atmosphere, well organised, and perfectly located for exploring Interlaken and the Jungfrau region. Highly recommended. We would happily stay here again! 😊

I had an amazing stay in my Eco Twin room at Backpackers Villa. There was a double and a single bed in the room. Everything very clean and comfortable. Showers were always available and clean. Breakfast was first class. Usually 5 types of bread available and two excellent coffee machines. The orange juice was the best I have tasted in Switzerland. Eric and Sara were excellent on Reception.

Everything was perfect! I was alone and felt really safe here. Super clean. Kind people. There are lockers where you can leave your luggage. I was there during some very snowy days and the hostel was warm. Plus: They told me that breakfast was simple, even though they offered various types of bread, jams, yogurt... Amazing! Thank you so much.

I stayed in multiple hostels in different cities during my stay in Europe, and this one clearly stands out. The location is in the center of Interlaken (between West and Ost), so it's about an 800-900 meter walk from either station. The guys at reception are very friendly and kind. You don't have to pay anything extra for anything once you have done the booking. The toilet was attached to the room, but the showers were common—and I enjoyed the shower! The rooms, toilets, and common shower areas were all squeaky clean. The storage given in the room was lockable by your room key. There was a common work area and a pretty big kitchen where you can cook your own food. If you reach earlier, you can drop your luggage at the hostel without any charge and roam around the city. The only issue I had was, as the room floorings were wooden, there were minor squeaking sounds sometimes, but that’s just nitpicking. My stay here was absolutely awesome, and I definitely recommend booking this place.

Great backpackers villa. Breakfast is simple but more than enough. Everything is clean, clear instructions everywhere, efficient service. Expensive but on the reasonable range of Switzerland price.

Great place to spend nights Location in the centre Near main city station Accessable by walk even Staff is good , welcoming and helpful Room are ok Wash rooms and toilets are insufficient for people staying at the floor. There should also be no snoring area, snoring is strictly prohabited. One of guest OMG was snoring very loudly and kept me awake most of peroid. Seprate towel which is good thing as most of hostels dont provide Lift available Easy check inn Break fast included

Overall great experience!! If you are use to hostels this was a total gem!!! Would absolutely stay here again. The facilities are very well kept, the breakfast included each day was such a nice treat, the beds were good, the staff super friendly, lots of space and storage for bags even oversized luggage. Huge huge thank you to Eric and i believe Renee (blonde girl) for their amazing service, kind gesture and willingness to assist us on a small issue we had. They were really amazing! Highly suggested to backpackers and even those who are not Overall impressed

Hard to rate this place. It is a hostel but it is not. But that description doesn't quite encompass what I'm trying to say. Very nice and clean space. The staff are very helpful and extremely friendly. The breakfast is not luxurious but it is actually more than I expected at a hostel. The location is close to most stuff.
