Take a Jurassic Road Trip To These 13 Dinosaur Parks

"Tucked into the mountains of rural Tennessee is an incredibly fun, self-guided walking path featuring homemade scale replicas of dinosaurs, designed based on recent scientific findings. Entry is free with an optional donation if you enjoy the park, and it’s likely that you will. Each dinosaur has a sign detailing its classification, characteristics, and discovery facts. Throughout the park there are different exhibits like a velociraptor enclosure (the raptor models are accurately portrayed with feathers), a fossil dig site, a Mesozoic nature trail, and other surprises. Walking through is so satisfying as every work is a feat of fabrication and creativity. Being that it is also in very rural area, it is quite a surprise to find. Of the roadside dinosaur statues at various attractions in the states, this may be one of the best. At some points you can see it is a work in progress — currently, the park has a one-year reprieve to bring it up to county code so it can remain operational, but the pockets of construction don’t take away from the charm of the park." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

Terrific place! Entrance is a little unassuming but the park itself is pretty awesome! Little gift shop, lots of dinosaurs and photo opportunities. What a little gem.

Google
This place was amazing for my 5 yr old daughter, who's an extreme dino lover. I would have loved to meet the people who put this together and personally thank them for this experience. I 100% recommend this place for everyone. Every kid should come here!

Renee Yates

Google
Pretty nice place. They ask for a donation of $5 per person. Even the gift shop had suggested donations for items. The only downside was no bathrooms except March thru October, we went on a nice day in February with a homeschool group.

Google
I love this place and visit with my daughter whenever I get the opportunity. Definitely check it out, walk the whole thing and discover all the cool stuff. When you're done, don't forget shoot em a donation to help maintain this great place.

Google
This place is much bigger than it looks! We were very impressed with the huge dinosaurs this guy created all by himself! You walk down several trails in the woods and get to read about each dinosaur that you see. He has several nice scenes to step into along the path too! We're so glad we stopped on our way home from WV! Thank you for sharing your creations with the public!

Google
Group family trip, ages from 7 to 87 and everyone enjoyed the trip and that says a lot. Amazing bit of artistry and presentation that included descriptions. VERY well done and lay out was good too. Suggested $5 donation and it was certainly worth more. Nice to have this available. A bit difficult to find but Google maps takes you right to the parking lot. Plan on a couple of hours and some of the paths are steep.

Wow! What an experience! This is fun for the whole family. Entry to this dinosaur themed sculpture type outdoorsy adventure, will not break the bank since they ask for a donation of only five dollars. There is a picnic area if you want to bring your lunch and there’s also a playground for the kids after their trek through Trail like areas throughout the attraction. Look me up on YouTube to get a glimpse of the excitement that you are in for should you choose to experience this for yourself!

Google
What a great place! A bit out of the way but the incredible features make up for it. Impressive sculptures, fun facts, interactive exhibits, and even a gift shop. My kids (3 and 7) really enjoyed it and we could have spent way more time there but we’re getting mosquito bites. I’d say you could spend an hour, minimum. Just bring your bug spray! Porta potties available March through October. Vending machines on site.

Yelp
Bring your kids or just pretend you're one for the day! We had no clue what we were getting into with our arrival. We were just looking for something to do. It was free with a suggested 5 dollar donation. We donated before we knew what we were getting into but darn it, we were SO IMPRESSED!!! There must have been 50 dinos over acres and acres of land. I got in a good mile of walking there. What a fun way to spend an hour or two!

Lindsey M.

Yelp
This blew my expectations!! It was so much fun i can say i've never seen such well made dinosaurs and in such an array !! truly a place to go for any age !

Judy P.

Yelp
Didn't know what to expect, but we all enjoyed our time there. Great place for kids, even has a playground. Much larger than you would think. Also has a little gift shop and an outdoor picnic area. We will go again in the summer. Entrance fee is a donation. Fun!

Yelp
We had a great time with our blind son and grandsons. The park was very informative and very accessible to all our needs.

Yelp
My kids had the best time visiting! I have a 3,7, and 10 year old and we enjoyed the dinosaurs, wildlife and trails. The 3 year old was over the moon yelling with excitement, I think the whole park heard him. They are donation ran only, we didn't have a lot of cash but we found that they have Venmo and PayPal donation options so we were able to donate that way. Lots of pictures and special memories. You can tell the park is very loved and someone poured their love into creating it. We will visit again!

Sandra M.

Yelp
I took my 9 year old grandson and we had a blast. What a great place! There is no admission fee but be sure to donate so the owner can keep the park open and expand the collection!

Yelp
One of the rare places that under promises and over delivers!! We had a great time here, and were astonished at every turn. My grandkiddos had a blast and were sad to leave. These folks creativity is off the chart. *MIND BLOWN that this is just someone's back yard*

Yelp
Someone please tell me how I never knew this was here all these years!! But I found it just in time, though, because my 3yo LOVES IT. We always pay big bucks to see the conventions that come into town, but really this place is worlds better than that. And it's by donation only! Amazing! Really the skill that's been shown in how these things are made is just amazing. They're pretty much all life size, and seeing that huge T. rex, spinosaurus, and other huge ones is just unreal. It's like, something this big actually walked this earth?! Agh. It is a good size park, too, and takes at least 45 mins to walk through the whole thing, but you could easily spend 2-3 hours here too. The whole family loves it. Everyone. We go every time we're in town!

Charles B.

Yelp
Can't believe this place is free. Awesome for kids. Really cool! Has a playground near the back.

Yelp
This place is amazing for kids of all ages! Not only are there realistic dinosaurs to enjoy but plenty of play areas for kids.

Yelp
Okay. Go to their website and read their "story". The owner/folks involved in making this a public attraction, my hats off to you. This place is amazing!!! Very detailed work has been put into the park for all to enjoy. I also really loved the trail, and the fact that everything somewhat loops back to starting point. Just really nice layout and makes the experience so much better. 40+ life sized dinosaurs!! Just incredible considering that it's right here in the Tri-Cities. I will definitely return during Halloween time to check out its haunted attractions. If you haven't been here, GO! No excuses, really just GO. There's no admission fee, but they do accept donations and I urge y'all to donate whatever you can afford. What they are doing here is so admirable and it truly is a dying breed as we see more and more family owned attractions become commercialized. Support local!!

Yelp
Wonderful!!! We made a small donation up front and bought a couple souvenirs from the gift shop. The Dinosaurs are really well made and the exhibits are very informative. We are both in our 30's but we had a blast if you have kids or love dinosaurs this is a must see!!

Yelp
What a cool place! My daughter loves dinosaurs and wants to be a paleontologist one day. Today is her 12th birthday, and I took her to see this impressive display of facts and lifelike Dino's in the backyard. Admission is donation based, which makes it super family friendly. They have a picnic area, and a honor payment based shop with toys. At the back of the park, a playscape waits for the kids to climb on. The yard is extremely shaded and well thought out. We were even terrified to walk into the terror exhibit cause the creatures were animatronic. We didn't see any signage leading the way to the park, so definitely follow some gps to get there. It's located at the back of a residential area. We will be back for sure!

Yelp
I don't have the right adjective to describe this place - EXTRAORDINARY - REMARKABLE - SENSATIONAL - Pictures and words don't do this place justice. Come see for yourself. Every age will be in awe of these life-size works of art mixed into a gorgeous naturescape!! We will be coming back again and again. THANK YOU for building a treasure for this region. I grew up in this area and am so excited when new things make it better and better. Wish I could've shook the hand of the artist who made this experience possible. And all of this is by donation. Wow! THANK YOU!!!

Chris M.

Yelp
Great place for all ages! This park has so much character and is great for the family. All the dinosaurs at the park are hand made. Admission is free, which is cool, they just ask for a donation. It's such a great experience and a must see.

Yelp
Love this place! My daughter had a blast!!!!!! We definitely want to come again!! Even the little play area was a nice touch!!!!!

Yelp
This place is huge and the dinosaurs are great. It's open everyday of the year, from 9-9. There is no entry fee, just a suggested donation. We went in the evening so it got dark pretty quick or we would have spent much more time exploring the various trails. I would recommend visiting this hidden gem if you're anywhere in the area. My 10 year old son absolutely adored it.

Yelp
Wonderful little park. Great descriptions of the zoo animals. Saw some weak area in the fencing. Hope nothing gets loose! Great place to take small ids and big kids like myself.

Yelp
Wow! This place is amazing! It's hard to find but worth the effort. Lots of life-size models set in a Jurassic Park-themed park. Worth at least an hour. Great for kids and non-breeders alike. Donations accepted.

Yelp
We visited this park on Sunday and it was fantastic, highly recommended, a nice walk, and all the information was there for us to read about each dinosaur..we will go back many more times, such a pleasant atmosphere. Thank you so very much and we are telling all our friends and family.

Yelp
This place is perfect for kids! Since it is donation only, all are able to attend and enjoy a time with the dinosaurs. The dinosaurs are very realistic and life size. Stop by, take an hour and enjoy a trip back into the past!

Shelley M.

Yelp
WOW! This place is incredible! It is out in the country and by no means a full on amusement park but a really neat place with LOTS of really cool dinosaurs on a well kept property. It is donations only with a little gift shop attached. Our kids are 9 and 6 and love Jurassic Park/World so they were amazed at so many life size (and some that move) dinosaurs. We will definitely bring them back with friends! Truly nice work to whomever built it.

Yelp
the best free dinosaur park in tricities,tn its great for adults or kids and its allways free year round, they have lots of dinosaurs, bones, and tell how they make them, plus park map and donation box at entrance, you are not required to donate but can if you wish, this is one awesome park the put in the backyard of several houses in the wooded area, they have couple dark tents light up and have moving animals in them and sounds, halfway thru they have play area kids can put on a hard hat and grab a brush and search for footsprints and in the back of the park they build a playground with swings and slides and near entrance picnic tables so you can have a picnic and enjoy the day there.oh and if you need drinks they have a store near entrance and exit things for sale and drinks in a frigerator 60 cent each so you can get ice cold drink, the drinks are generic but ice cold,i would like to see them sell name brand coke and pepsi in it too for maybe $1.00 a can the convenience be great and be worth it ice cold drink.anything you choose to buy look at prices then add it up and put enough to cover them in the box at the door they trust you no person works in there.cash only no checks it says, the owners are very nice and really care about the community.if you ever in the tricities,tn area i strongly suggest you take the time and visit this awesome park in bluff city,tn. when you get there remember they be a sign in front in between two houses gravel driveway parking lot just park and walk on in and enjoy.if yuo have kids they will love it,also around october every year the park has a nighttime halloween haunted house park they do require $10 admission for the night attraction at halloween only any other time its all free and proceeds go toward fixing up the park and adding more on to it. thank you god bless
