Baczewski Restaurant

I had a late dinner with two of my Ukranian friends/collaborators my last evening in Lviv in January 2026. This is supposedly one of the best Ukranian restaurants in town and I was not disappointed. We had an interesting choice of appetizers followed by a Ukranian rösti with mushrooms and a Lvivian cheese cake accompanied by a good Ukranian red. Overall a very good experience, further accentuated by birds in cages singing for us.

The interior is equally memorable, with several themed halls spread over multiple floors, a bright greenhouse space, and an inviting terrace or veranda to enjoy warmer weather. Live music during lunch and dinner adds to the relaxed yet refined vibe, and many guests rave about the extensive bar selection, especially the house-inspired infusions and cocktails. Baczewski also shines at breakfast, where a generous buffet often draws lines from locals and visitors alike. Whether you’re there for the food, drinks, or lively ambience, it’s a must-try on any Lviv itinerary.

Great place if you want to taste the real Ukrainian/Polish food! Borsch here is so good 👏 My next time here I’m ordering the whole duck, it is cooked for 90 min, we couldn’t stay long enough this time, but and I’m already excited about my next visit :) Also, the interior design inside is great! The waiter was super friendly and told us the life story of Mr. Baczewski and the restaurants development. Oh, and the cherry campot was 🔥

Amazing food, Really really delicious! Creative plates as beautiful as they are tasty.

Great place with fantastic decor and ambiance. Making reservation for dinner is a good idea. Great variety of infused vodkas from sweet to bitter which is their specialty. Food is good, presentation is amazing, pleasant service. It's a pricey place by local standards but you will get your money's worth. It would be very nice for staff to smile a little more, they look so serious😉

Best restaurant I’ve ever been to - and exceptionally reasonably-priced. Brilliant service, gentle music played by a great duo, canaries singing, exotic plants hanging from the walls… and the best food I’ve had. Incredible

Amazing place in the heart of Lviv! Beautiful atmosphere, delicious Galician cuisine, and great service. The indoor garden with live music is a lovely touch. Highly recommended!

The decorations were stunning. I love their greenhouse idea outside. Really bright and the songs of the birds were a great touch. It was all in all a very comfortable atmosphere to have lunch in. Their lemonade is fantastic. The food on the other hand wasn't as good as I had expected from a restaurant that was so well thought out. The taste someone blended together and it didn't taste as good. Their plating was fantastic though.
