Bad Decisions Bar

Bad Decisions is a quirky late-night bar with a lot of personality. The neon red glow outside sets the tone, and inside it’s got a moody, cool vibe with creative decor and a big back bar stacked with spirits. The cocktail list is strong, and the bartenders know their stuff – definitely more of a cocktail spot than a pub. Smaller and more intimate, but that works well for the style of venue. Shout out to the English barman (from Rochdale or maybe Scunthorpe – can’t quite remember!) who was a legend behind the bar – friendly, quick, and made the place even more enjoyable. Good for a nightcap or if you’re in the mood for something a little different to the usual Fitzroy pub crawl.

Great venue, friendly open minded staff and nice atmosphere. It was great to perform in the upstairs area the other night. Coming from doing gigs in Canberra, this was a very welcoming, warm space with great people who truly appreciate live music. Highly recommend as a place to hangout with a bunch of mates or put on a show at. They also allow you to eat in the venue, so if you like to bring fried chicken to the hip hop show and enjoy a few beers, this is the place for it. 💯

My fav bar on Johnston st - always a gig to see, good smokers area and comparably pretty cheap drinks Formerly a club sort of vibe, very much a dive bar now which I personally love - friendly staff, fun decor and open til 5am on weekends, love this place ❤️

Came across this place by accident and saw some local bands playing. Rad venue, excellent staff, friendly vibes. Fun all round. Playing punk & alternative vibes downstairs with a DJ.

So, I know that the name really says it all but I visited Bad Decisions for the first time on Friday and wow. The staff members were both clearly very intoxicated and whilst I understand a few drinks on shift here and there is all in good fun, it really made for a bad experience. Watching them miss the glass when pouring drinks and the chopping and changing of the music mid song on multiple occasions made for a very jarring vibe. Like cmon, at least one of the staff members should be sober enough to control Spotify

Great little spot. I loved watching some bands play here! Got a fantastic vibe, and despite the small location, you can still get a mosh going!
