BAD HABITS

This place is amazing. My first time visiting Paihia and all I want to do is come back to this place. Amazing staff, amazing food and amazing cocktails! Also quite good for pricing as well! You can get a cocktail for $16. Instead of some places ONLY charging $20min. All we wanted to do was order more cocktails and see the fun presentations and flavors. The food was also so yummy. Filled out belly's right up 🤣 Thank you all for the wonderful arvo! Will be back

What’s a gem! The welcome through to the farewell bookended a brilliant experience at this busy place. Our server was knowledgeable with a great sense of humour to deal with very hungry punters. We had the T Bone, a tomahawk and a scotch fillet washed down with a great Pinot Noir (great wine list). With a takeaway butchery and bottle shop, along with a solid bar (Lion product centric), it’s probably one of the best venues in Paihia. Give it a crack and enjoy the humour of the menu and the food made with love.

Photos don’t do this justice, I ordered a tomahawk steak with extra egg, honestly no exaggeration hands down the best steak I have had in NZ, the combination of flavour and texture is a pure bliss, the mash was excellent it went really well with the steak. Great pricing, great service and atmosphere. If I am ever in Paihia I will visit again for sure!

Impressive food! The Tomahawk steak is smoky and juicy! It’s one of the highlights here! I enjoyed my prawns tacos with wasabi sauce and kimchi. Creative dishes in good quality! Bad habits won’t make me down!

WOW!!! What a fantastic venue for a meal. Great service, OUTSTANDING food and everything fairly priced. The food was well presented and a feast for the eyes, and then a feast for my belly. Gutted I won't get the opportunity to return so I can make my way through the rest of the menu 😭😭

I said it to the staff; I think for the price you pay for the plate of food you could offer more of a salad/more mash. Seeing other's photos of it with chips Id have said the same. The steak was also quite over salted, possibly just the horopito rub I got. Mash potato is dirt cheap, and maybe it's because I'm Irish but the lack of food ruined it for me. Left feeling hungry and down. (The staff tried to offer me a bowl of extra mash on the house when I finished but I would feel very awkward sitting alone eating a bowl of mashed potato... so I declined. It should really just come out with more food initially). Otherwise, the staff were very pleasant and accommodating. I'm adding a photo of a scotch steak I got a Whangaroa sport fishing club last week that was arguably better and much more filling. It was $30.

Bad Habits is a destination in itself, best steak I have had in the southern hemisphere 🔥, Adi behind the bar also makes epic cocktails 🍹 The famous burgers (with garlic fries) have a cult following among the locals if you’re after something lighter, all in all a 10/10 experience 😍 Can’t miss if you’re visiting the Bay of Islands!!

Visually already a very appealing and cool place. The music that is played goes very well, the service is friendly and efficient. No bad habit at all 😈. And then the food... I was unfortunately not in Paihia for enough time to return and try more, but the Scoundrel burger 🍔 (classic recipe) was absolutely amazing 🤤 and I could only see customers around me enjoying the food and the vibes. Plan ahead if you need to go to the toilets 🚻 ,located upstairs in an adjacent building.
