"Confounded, we retired to the Frontier Cabins. Our little house on the prairie featured a moose skull mounted above log beds."

Our cabin was beautiful and well maintained. Many amenities and friendly office staff made our stay very enjoyable. We were even provided with a free breakfast coupon for use at a local restaurant and a free drink coupon for use at a local restaurant. Both of these were unexpected and not part of our reservation. The view of the grassland area in front of the cabin, children's play area, grill, and picnic table were available and the cabins were situated in a very convenient spot located within walking distance from gas stations, food establishments, and of course the city of Wall, which has a nice and unique downtown area. We would highly recommend Badlands Frontier Cabins to everyone!

We last minute decided to make a reservation, on Christmas Eve. Staff were very responsive and welcoming. They allowed an extremely late/early morning check in and the room was SPOTLESS! Super cute cabins, in a beautiful area, and very close to the shops and businesses. Not to mention a beautiful view when you open the door! Super kid-friendly!

We loved our stay in Wall! The room was very tidy and cozy, perfect for a night before exploring the Badlands. Loved how close it was to the park, and our dog enjoyed her prairie walk behind the property. Would stay again!

Visited here on a trip to the Badlands and SD generally and was blown away by the quality and service! Our cabin was clean as well as quiet and a fun location. Access to both Wall proper and the Badlands was quite easy, and the multiple discounts we received at other stores — including free breakfast each day of our stay — made this a great deal! Service was consistently kind and helpful. I highly recommend travelers to Wall and tourists visiting the Badlands check these lodgings out!

Laura was one of the most responsive and helpful people during our stay. She was great. The cabins were clean, cozy and had a beautiful view of a wide open field. The close and convenient access to the Badlands park couldn't have been easier. We highly recommend.

Google
Our cabin was perfect for us. It was clean, quiet and had everything we needed. The beds are big and comfortable. Lighting and air are very good. The porch with furniture was an added benefit. Wall is a good place to stay for what the Black Hills has to offer. I would definitely stay there again.

Google
Everything about these cabins is perfect! It’s close to Badlands National Park and the cabin we stayed in was spotlessly clean, warm and cozy. Beautiful cabins with tasteful decor. Nice quality towels and amenities. Can’t recommend this place enough. They even offer a free breakfast at a local restaurant that is awesome!

We booked a night last minute on our way to Yellowstone. The place is awesome. It's a very mountain cabin decor. The bed was comfy and the staff was wonderful. The room was clean, and should I ever travel this way again I will definitely stay here again. It's located just a few miles from The Badlands National Park and freeway access is super easy as is downtown restaurants and shops.

Yelp
Our cabin was beautiful, comfortable and clean and had a great view of the sunset. The man working the front desk was super nice and helpful. We were given coupons for a free breakfast at the Badlands Saloon. It wasn't until we got there that we realized that the free breakfast was - French toast, pancakes or a biscuit and gravy. I wish I had realized this ahead of time as none of these choices are something I would have myself. Our 'free' breakfast ended up costing over $40.

Yelp
Oh my gosh! Such cute little cabins. The decor is awesome. Made me feel like I was back in Alaska. We were driving from MI to Rapid City, SD and in Wall, SD we decided we were done for the day. I found Frontier Cabins online and reserved one. When we got there, the gentleman at the desk said we got the last one. I don't know how many there are total, maybe 20 or 30. Anyway, there were two queen beds, the super tall ones, so be prepared to climb into bed. You get a ticket for a complimentary drink at a bar in town and also for a pancake or biscuit and gravy breakfast at the same place. Our cabin was clean and comfortable. Oh, pet friendly, too.

Kim N.

Yelp
We have stayed here in the past and looked forward to staying here again! There are new owners now, and the amazing experience continues! My husband called to make the reservation and was really happy with how friendly and helpful the owner was. When we arrived again, we were warmly greeted. Our cabin was immaculately clean. The bed was comfortable. The mini fridge and microwave worked just fine. The owner also texted to check on our comfort and needs daily. It's so nice to have such great service. There is no other place we would stay when visiting the area.

Yelp
This place is on the expensive side for Wall but so totally worth the price!! I loved this cabin!! The log cabins are beautiful, spacious, so well-decorated and stick to the theme of the 1800s in the looks while providing amenities from the 20th century. Our cabin had a lovely patio facing farmland and a grille :) The inside, as you can see, is just so pretty!! The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've had and I fell asleep instantly as I laid my head down. They gave dove soap in the shower, which makes me love them more. The water was super hot, which, again, I LOVE. Finally, the blankets were perfectly warm. 100% stay here if you're ok with the price. Try to get in before sunset so you can actually enjoy the cabins. They have teepees and other things around.

Mimi M.

Yelp
CLEAN, very cozy warm interior and quiet enough considering cabins are all set close together. Loved the front porch hangout and comfortable bed. Only negative is the location is kind of stark. Thankful to have found this gem

Yelp
We had reservations at Badlands Frontier Cabins for 2 nights. Unfortunately Hurricane Milton was heading toward our home in Florida so we needed to leave a day earlier than expected to secure our home. We contacted the Cabins as soon as we were aware that our home was directly in the path of the hurricane, to request a refund of the second night. We contacted the manager (Laura Cowan) and was told that our request to change the reservation came 2 days before our stay, and any changes required 3 days notice. We explained the hurricane was unexpected and asked her for an exception under the circumstances. She agreed and told us to request a refund through Booking.com because we made our reservations through them. She said if they agreed, then she would refund the unused night's stay. We did as she instructed and requested a refund from Booking.com. The next day, Booking.com informed us that due to the unexpected hurricane they agreed to refund the money. Then they said the hotel manager (Laura) needed to approve the request, but she refused to do so. We attempted to contact Laura to resolve the problem, but our phone calls and emails were never answered. We understand the 3-day refund policy, but due to the unexpected hurricane, we were hoping an exception to the policy could be made. Our 1-star review is based on the manager's actions and empty promises.

Yelp
These cabins are IMMACULATE! To understand what my review really means, you should know that I have stayed in quite a few cabins in the past couple years. I do have a certain level of what I believe to be average and what I consider to be acceptable. The Badlands Frontier Cabins exceed all of that. Taking a step back, first you drive up to the lobby where a very helpful and nice person will check you in quickly. You get a key per person! (It might sound odd to be happy about this but there are 3 adults traveling together and most hotels give two keys without your begging.) You can also get a glow-in-the-dark travel water bowl for your pup. Your cabin will either face the highway but be buffered by a large apron of grass, or it will face a large grass field. When you get to your cabin, you just hold your key up in front of the lock. State of the art locks on metal doors with a dead bolt and security chain. (The door is so clean inside that the TV reflects perfectly.) Because they knew we were coming, the air conditioner was already on. We opened the door to cool air, a very large flat screen TV, and 2 very tall queen beds. There were also 2 straight back chairs, a desk, a refrigerator, a microwave, an end table between the two beds, a ceiling fan. At the end of the cabin is a closet with ironing board, iron, sink, mirror and towels. In on the left is the toilet with a tub and handheld shower nozzle. Even the vaulted ceiling of the cabin was perfectly clean and without a single speck of dust. All 3 windows opened well and could be closed off from the outdoor light as needed. After sundown the buildings have lights on the outside so that you can always find your way around. The only drawback ... The cabins are not handicap accessible. The beds are 30" off the ground. The bathrooms all have bathtubs.

Mary A.

Yelp
A sincerely darling little cabin experience! Traveling west, we found this little treasure in Wall, SD. Well built, cozy and clean, this place is the best! The beds are strong and made of logs. Soft linens and very nice pillows. The room darkens well with wooden shades. It was hard to wake up!! Why would you ever stay anywhere else?! We even brought our little dog who made himself right at home. We'll be back!

Janet S.

Yelp
Great location - just a short straight drive to the park. The cabins are excellent. Everything fields new, carpet, furniture, towels etc. Beds were super comfy but high off the ground, I'm short so it was a leap up from one bed to the other. Ours was not a kitchen unit, came with fridge and microwave and coffee machine. Remember to bring paper plates, cutlery etc. They are not available in the on site shop. Laundry facilities were super efficient. Ask for a cabin facing the farmland - we had one facing the road, it was not too noisy but it just was not very picturesque. A small table and two chairs would have been of more use than the long credenza.

George G.

Yelp
We loved the room but they quoted and charged us a $40 pet deposit at check in, then charged another $50 the next day and claimed it was the pet deposit and charged us $101 and accused us of 'stealing the blanket' from the room. Also accused us of trying to cheat the free breakfast. As unprofessional as anything we've ever been involved with.

Michael O.

Yelp
I booked 2 nights in March - for September 2023 (through Bookings.com), cancelled in June (I have a confirmation email), yet Frontier Cabins took my money in September & refused to issue a refund. I was told to expect a refund, this never materialized - . Communication was poor until the staff & GM hung up on me and refused further calls. Kudos to Booking.com for making it right. Watch your money - I wouldn't risk staying at that place.

John B.

Yelp
Love this place. Clean, well furnished, comfortable, useful amenities. I have been here more than once and will keep coming back. It is becoming my standard stop on the long drive west. Almost hate to say that since this place is always booked as it is...but the truth is worth sharing.

Wendy H.

Yelp
Walked into the check-in for Frontier Cabins. We received a warm and gracious welcome from Pete at the front desk. Pete explained the Town of Wall to us and recommended a great place for dinner and another for breakfast the next morning. The cabin is CLEAN and as cute as can be. Wendy and I highly recommend Frontier Cabins for your stay in Wall. Michael & Wendy Holloway Holladay, Utah.

Elle S.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place. I want to leave it a lower rating just so it stays a hidden gem but I won't do that. The location is great for Park access and food too. Your own little private cabin in the wilderness. Grills, tables to eat outdoors, everything you need. Bed was comfy, and cabin was clean with the exception of some little bugs one would expect in a field. I will stay here again,

Patti R.

Yelp
We checked into the Frontier Cabins on Father's Day 2020 in the mist of the Covid pandemic. After we searched online throughout the city of wall we settled on this place. We booked the kitchenette cabin realizing that most of the hotels that promised breakfast could not do so because of the virus. They offer free bags of ice and will replenish any supplies needed for your stay. We stayed with our two children who are almost 13 and 11 years old. The unit included two queen size beds and a sleeper sofa in the cabin. With free Wi-Fi and two TVs I was surprised that my kids were more excited to sit out in the Adirondack chairs facing the field then hooked to their devices. The cabin was extremely clean and even though I brought cleaning supplies I did not feel like I had to wipe down every surface. The beds had pillow tops and were comfy. I took a nap every day after our hikes. The showers were hot even after four people used them and hot water was used to cook dinner. The kitchen was well stocked with what we needed. One night we had a hard time entering our cabin and we called the after hours number. Within 10 minutes someone was by to help us. He was very friendly even considering the late hour. The best part of the cabins is the 10 minute drive to the Badlands. We could've stayed a whole week but only stayed three nights. The next time we are in town we will make this our homebase again. A travelers tip, get the cake donuts with chocolate frosting from Wall Drug, pick up some super fresh produce from Wall Food Center, and catch the sunset from Sagecreek Rim Rd.

Terryl J.

Yelp
We enjoyed our stay here with our dogs. The cabin was cramped with two oversized queen beds so it was hard to move around with not much of a place to sit other than the beds. But the quietness was appreciated to get a good night's sleep.

Tammy S.

Yelp
We enjoyed our stay at The Frontier Cabins very much. The beds were comfortable the cabins were very roomy and the fridge and microwave was very handy. I highly recommend staying in the prairie view rooms, we really enjoyed being able to sit outside and watch the sunsets. The parking is right beside the cabin which was very convenient when it came to taking things to and from the cabin. I wish the hot tubs were open and available while we were there however they had a cover on them the whole time. The no contact check in was very convenient and we appreciated it very much. If you are planning on spending time doing the Badlands Loop or spending time in Wall this place is perfectly located to both. Since Covid they no longer clean your cabins or change out the towels even for multi night stays, if you need clean washcloths and towels you have to take the dirty ones to the office and swap them out for clean yourself.

Robin H.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here two nights while visiting Badlands and Mount Rushmore. I travel a lot and have to say this is one of my favorite places. This place was perfect. All amenities you need, perfect size room and the porch is a large plus. Great place to unwind and relax. Highly recommend to anyone visiting this area.

Caryn B.

Yelp
When my friend and I arrived we loved it!! Super cute cabin. But once we settled in, we found about 8 crickets/ centipedes in our bathroom, and then we found the biggest spider I have ever seen in my life. I stared at it for nearly 40 minutes sitting to figure out if it was real because it was so big, and then it moved. It was AWFUL. We called the staff to ask for a cleaning or something--they offered us a new room, but simply said that "it's just the time of year the bugs get inside", so we decided to stay since we had everything left out and there would most likely be the same problem if we moved cabins. Cute place, but we had to sleep with one eye open looking for spiders.

Laura W.

Yelp
This place is very dirty. There was old food and dead bugs under the bed, the sheets on one bed were stained, many spider webs in the cabin. The floors were used dirty, don't take your socks off. In the middle of the night I got up to use the bathroom and it was a mine field of bugs. I think I counted 8 just in the bathroom. Then the huge spider (about a quarter size) came under the door.

Allison W.

Yelp
These cabins were clean, cute and had easy access from the parking lot. They are located right at the entrance to the national park. What a great find!

Mike S.

Yelp
I'd give the cabins here a 5. The management of the facility merits no more than a 2. The rooms/cabins are nicely done and quite comfortable, in their kitschy cabiny sort of way. However, the office is another thing. I was warned, however. Other reviews of this place indicated poor attitudes of the help. I am pretty ambivalent about that kind of thing so jumped into a reservation. However, when arriving and later after we settled, it seemed that the staff behind the counter was more bothered by our presence than they were willing to acknowledge us. Three different encounters (check-in, check-out, even trip for supplies) with three different people all showed a similar grumpy demeanor. Once we stood for quite a long time in front of a surly worker behind the counter as she finished a text messaging conversation. Awkward. This could be an amazing place. The potential for it to be the best place along I-90 is there already. The hard part is done with great facilities and easy access. The easy part now is to see if the staff can actually learn to appreciate that their customers have a choice. It would take so little for this to be a must-stay location.

Ariel G.

Yelp
My husband and I choose this location for its affordability and stellar reviews. We were not disappointed and are sure to return, it was romantic and perfect for couples but next time we think we will bring friends! Pros: The cabins were even cuter in person. Comfy pillows, really friendly staff, decent continental breakfast, hot tub, soft water showers, good air conditioning, rustic feel, nice and quiet cabins even by the street! Cons: there is really nothing to eat in Wall, sure there is walldrug but the grub is really pricey. There is a grocery store though, so you could always make sandwiches. Bonus: if Pokémon go is of interest to you, there are 3 stops and one gym that are available as you chill in your cabin, no walking needed!

Kris C.

Yelp
Family of 7 stayed 4 nights. We really enjoyed our stay! The good: cabins were immaculate and well stocked, towels fluffy, beds comfy, jacuzzi was awesome, the kids loved the park, the view of the prairie was really pretty, staff was great, laundry room was tidy and cheap, free ice, and complimentary s'mores round the campfire every night. It was very cozy and everything we needed as a homebase. The bad: the breakfast is really not a breakfast, just yogurt, fruit and pre-packaged rolls. No big deal tho, because you have a full kitchen and can shop right down the street. The pull out couch bed was really really bad. Make the kids sleep there, or possibly the person you like the least. Overall, we loved it and would stay again!

Jim B.

Yelp
Great place to stay. Hot tub and sauna. Friendly staff beer by the bottle. Nice room all the amenities you could ask for.

Lindsey S.

Yelp
Enjoyed our stay at the cabins. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Nice large rooms with couch, coffee table, fridge and microwave. Had a room facing the field - worth the extra $10 to be away from the road. Nice little front porch with two chairs. Complimentary breakfast in the morning was great. Only negative was the AC was pretty loud. Free WiFi.

KS C.

Yelp
Awful Customer Service Was looking to book my 50th Birthday vacation for Summer 2015. Thought I would get an early jump on the reservation process. I completed an online reservation request. Three days, and no responses later, I decided to call the toll free number directly. I called and proceeded to get a busy signal 8 times over a 30 minute time span. When I finally got through, I was placed immediately on hold. When I was finally able to speak to someone, they said they are not taking reservations that far in advance and was advised to email their corporate location in Tulsa directly. I forwarded my earlier online reservation request with my date(s) and room type request and this is the answer I received: "The reason you were told to send me an email is because we are not taking reservations yet at the cabins. I'm making them here in the business office. We do have cabins available for July 21st through July 24th - 4 nights. You did not say which type of cabin you might be interested in so here are the prices of all 4 type cabins we have." I may be slightly overreacting, but I was very put off by the overall unprofessionalism of this outfit. So much I decided not to book with them. After reading some of these reviews, it appears that this attitude may be somewhat pervasive. As such, I will be happily staying somewhere else during my trip to the Badlands.

John P.

Yelp
Great cabins! We enjoyed staying here. The cabins are clean, well maintained and decorated with a western country theme. The kids liked the playground and the adults liked sitting on the porch watching the sun set. We found the breakfast selection a little lacking, but the cleanliness of the place more than made up for it. We will stay here again in the future.

Stephany M.

Yelp
After a reservation mix-up in Rapid City, we decided to push on a little further, and called the first place with a good rating listed on any Internet site. It was in Wall, and we weren't expecting much, having been through this area before. But, wow! We've been on the road for 21 days, we're one long day from home, and we lucked into the best stay of our trip. The only reason you might not like these convenient, comfortable cabins is if spending the night in the home furnishings department of Cabela's would give you nightmares. The furnishings were genuine log furniture, including the king sized bed (mattress so comfortable that I wanted to bring it home), moose-themed hooks, outdoor themed lighting, dream catcher above the bed, and embroidered thick towels. There was a porch with chairs made of the same huge logs, and a view of the meadow. Parking right next to the cabin. Coffee maker, microwave and the largest mini fridge I've seen. Plenty of room to stretch out, couch and two chairs, functional windows, and nice heavy wooden blinds. TV with cable. Sink outside toilet/tub area, large mirror. Wall air conditioner that kept up with the summer heat. Even a fly swatter hung by the door, which is a good idea, because you are right in the middle of the great outdoors. The shower was wonderful, hot and strong, and everything worked as it should. I usually hate those "shower head on a hose" things, but this one was so well-designed that it didn't matter. We looked at the breakfast served in the gift shop and decided to drive further, because I like fresh oatmeal, but everything looked like it was ready for the families who would soon be coming in, including boiled eggs, biscuits and gravy, muffins, and the other standards of a continental plus breakfast. Check in and check out was flawless and friendly. They do close the desk at 10:00 pm, like most of Wall, but there is a number to call if you are late. And if so, you might want to eat before you get to Wall, unless you don't mind a burger in a paper basket from the bar downtown. (Which was pretty good, actually.) This is a well-designed, well-kept gem of a place, and if you get a chance to stay here, you will enjoy it.

Paul F.

Yelp
The good stuff: The place is quaint, pretty clean, close to Badlands Park and Wall. Nice looking and a different type of lodging. The bad: First off there were small worms in the bathroom(I think, they may also have been on carpet, but not seen). Everyday 10-15 were killed. Other reviewers have mentioned bugs and critters, maybe the exterminator should be called in more often. Maybe this is not a place for city slickers. I would have given this place 1 or 2 more stars had it not been for this problem. Pretty mundane free breakfast but is free. BTW not many dining options in Wall.

Margaret S.

Yelp
This motel far exceeded my expectations. All the amenities you would get from a mid range chain is here. Coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator hair dryer, shampoo etc. Continental breakfast in morning. Love the cabins, wooden furniture, comfortable beds, and decorative details.

Steven J.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised by the awesome cabin. We had a king deluxe and it was very well appointed. Great care went in to everything in the room, from the furniture to the towels and coasters. We had a great evening and wish we could spend more time here!

Jessie D.

Yelp
If you're looking for the authentic rustic cabin feel, look no further. These cabins are adorable and spacious. The view when we woke in the morning was beautiful. Very close to the Badlands Park and the town of Wall Drug. Complimentary breakfast is served in the front office/store which is decked out in beautiful turquoise jewelry and all things mid western, very cool. The front desk woman was very nice and helpful. Thank goodness we called early enough to reserve a room because we received the last one and they were closing in five minutes so she left a key for us to enter as it was very late. Playset on the grounds for children and a fire pit or two as well that looked neat. Will most definitely be returning the next time we visit the Badlands.

Jim S.

Yelp
Wow more than I expected. Rustic setting great people working there and great price. Would do it again.

Glen H.

Yelp
Stayed one night before the 'Summer season" and got good rate. We called ahead based on a review I read here on yelp. this is a really nice clean place, wife loved the décor. I would come back. The staff wasn't bad like some of the other reviews, not overly friendly but certainly not rude. Maybe they have new people working there. photos are accurate. Free breakfast is meh, or they would have gotten 5 stars.

Richard F.

Yelp
We found this place on the internet and it seemed like a very nice place with a good price to stay for a night after a long day in the Badlands. The cabin was very nice, very clean and nicely appointed with furnishings and nick-nack log cabin decor. We were early in the season so we got a great price for one night. The check-in went well and the girl who checked us in was friendly and helpful, unlike some previous comments. We were even offered a free bag of ice. They also offer a free breakfast, juice, coffee, cereal, yogurt and a few breads and danish. Not great but, enough to get us going. The office is also a gift shop with 1/4 of it locally made "stuff" and the other 3/4 fireworks stacked to the ceiling. They have free wifi and an outside area to bar-b-q or sit in the hot tub. They also have several "Indian Tee-pees" that you can rent. It only has a bed in it but, if you want to tent camp cheap, it's pretty cool.

Crystal P.

Yelp
This place is awesome! We had our small wedding reception here and it was just perfect. The rooms are clean and cozy. And the covered grill area made for a great spot to bbq and relax. It turned out beautiful and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Liz W.

Yelp
Very quant cute cabins. Right outside of the Badlands National Park which we enjoyed very much. The cabins were very clean & a perfect stay. Highly recommended.

Daniel W.

Yelp
This was a terrific place to stay. We stayed in the cabin with a kitchenette. Very nicely appointed and a great value. The cabins are clean, with gorgeous paneling. Decorating is tasteful and well done. Upkeep is great. The view is very nice. The facility is great for families or groups with a nice central picnic area with grills and a play area for kids. Not to mention all this at a great value. They offer a continental breakfast as well. If you are visiting the bad lands, I highly recommend staying here. It is hard to beat. Close to Wall Drug.

Kristine M.

Yelp
Awesome!! Wanted to wake up and catch Sunrise inside Badlands Nat Park. What a hidden gem I found! The cabin was so clean and nice. They have Tipis too. Campfires at night. Only open seasonal, I will return!

Christopher M.

Yelp
$132 a night. Clean. Aesthetically pleasing interior. Free ice. The cabins are laid out trailer park style. Don't expect rustic experience. Definitely would stay there again.

Angie L.

Yelp
Wished we had more time at Frontier Cabins. Lovely cabin - clean, adorable, so comfortable, lots of room for 4, well stocked kitchen. Lovely porch to view the plains. Loved that they offer nights in tee pees plus have a lovely play set for younger kids.

Ray P.

Yelp
VERY CLEAN! Cute retro cabins, but with modern conveniences.... flatscreens, Satellite TV wifi, A/C, playground, hot tub. Cute decor, HUGE comfy bed, and above all, clean rooms. Close to Wall Drug, Interstate, and shops. They have gas grills to cook your own food (Which you may want to do, because the restaurant we tried downtown was terrible- but that's not the Frontier Cabins' fault !) Nice, Friendly staff. Would stay here again and recommend to anyone else. They could probably stock a bit more food/beverage options in their store/office would be my only suggestion. But you can just go down to the gas station a block away if you need some chips, etc.

Kristopher G.

Yelp
This is a clean, well-maintained place to stay. The decor is very particular: up-north woods comes to mind, with pine-paneling and log furniture. But it's quaint and clean and very convenient to the Badlands. My husband and I were on our way from Pennsylvania to California and we decided to stop here overnight so we could see the Badlands as part of our roadtrip. What happened the next morning left a really sour taste in our mouths. After loading the car, turning in the keys, and departing for the Badlands, the front desk called about 45 minutes after we left. The woman on the phone informed us that the manager had gone into the cabin and found a broken wastebasket. Confused, I asked for more information: it was by the bathroom sink, had been broken into pieces, and was one of the "nice ones with animals on it." We hadn't broken any wastebaskets, but if we had, we certainly would have been willing to pay for the damage. She asked if we'd already left Wall, and even though we were already 30 minutes into the Badlands, we turned around to go back to the front desk to see the wastebasket. As I was so furious, my husband did all the talking. The manager came out and talked to us over a ceramic or resin wastebasket with relief animals on it. Neither of us even recalled seeing that wastebasket in the room; instead, there was just a plain, white, plastic wastebasket. The manager said she had to assume it was us because it was whole yesterday when she cleaned the room before our arrival and we didn't report it broken. We told her that we certainly hadn't broken it - that it had to have been done deliberately and we're not into destroying others' property. She even said that she'd found it empty, with the bag taken out of it... even though we had put a few plastic cups and napkins in it before we left. In the end, after two or three minutes of my trying not to pop a vein and my husband's calm denials, she said she wouldn't charge us for the wastebasket since she didn't have any proof. If seems like a good scam if you think about it, though. Your client has out-of-state plates and has either already finished with the Badlands and is getting on his or her way east or west on 90 at 75 mph. Or, your client has just driven down into the Badlands, paid a $15 entrance fee (which allows re-entry, to be clear), and eager to see the beautiful sights. Either way, they probably won't find it worth it to make the 1 to 1.5 hour round-trip back to the front desk to see a broken wastebasket and will just agree to pay for it. Rinse, lather, repeat. Of course, we don't have any proof, either. But, had either of us broken that wastebasket, we would have been happy to pay whatever it cost... $25 or $75 for our negligence or destruction. But to be maligned for something we didn't do was just beyond the pale. Who knows? Maybe she pulls this kind of thing three times a week (an extra $75+/week probably goes a long way in a place like Wall, and I'll bet you don't get much in the way of repeat customers)? Maybe she wanted to make a quick buck from some big-city out-of-towners? Or maybe she doesn't like interracial same-sex couples (who didn't flaunt their relationship status, but don't go to any great lengths to hide it either)? In any case, if you decide to stay here, take a few photos of your room before you leave... and make sure to get a few of the wastebasket.

Yelp
So cute, so comfy, so convenient! This place was a little hard to find - it doesn't come up on some search engines, but well worth seeking out. It's right off the Interstate but does not feel like it once you are inside the cabins. They are adorable and comfortable. The pricing is beyond reasonable considering everything else in the area. Didn't stay for breakfast, but it looked like it would be crazy good. There's a convenience/fireworks store on the premises for all your needs. You also get free ice with your fireworks purchase at the store, which I find kind of hilarious as well as useful (especially if you are clumsy like me). If I'm going hiking in the Badlands for a few days or stopping at Wall Drug for the night, I would absolutely stay here!

Yelp
Very quiet. Very friendly. Wood cabins with all the amenities. Stove, fridge, pans, flatware, plates, etc. Air conditioning, comfortable beds. Close to downtown Wall but away from all the traffic and noise. Beautiful views. Calm. Peaceful.

Yelp
This place is great!!! We had taken a road trip from Minneapolis to the Seattle area and stayed here along our journey. This is probably my favorite place we stayed on this trip. We had a little kitchenette and there was a BBQ outside. We grilled steaks and watched a beautiful sunset. Very cute place and the entrance to the Badlands National Park is just down the road.

Yelp
We loved everything about this place. We had a road view cabin that we wanted to change and that was no issue at all. Clean and very rustic, we loved every minute of it. They also have the largest collection of fireworks that I have ever seen, aisle after aisle of boom!

Yelp
Clean, spacious, cozy, good price and the log cabin decode was right out of the catalogue. I would absolutely stay there again if I was ever in the area. Very close to one of the the Bad Lands Park entrances. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it's located right off the freeway. Although, it wasn't that big of a deal. Never the less, had it been located a mile or two away from the freeway I would of given it 5 stars.
