Baekdamsa is a hidden gem nestled deep within the mountains—a tranquil Buddhist temple that feels worlds away from the bustle. To reach it, you’ll park your car at the base, then hop on a shuttle bus for a scenic 15-minute ride (just 2,500 won each way). For those with extra time and energy, there’s also a 2-hour hike option, if you’re feeling up for the adventure! The journey itself adds to the magic. By the time you arrive, you’re already steeped in the peace and serenity of the mountains, making every step feel like a gentle retreat from everyday life. Baekdamsa is truly a place to breathe deep and find a bit of Zen.

Serene, minimalistic, humble, warm, esthetic.. The temple was one of the most beautiful space to visit.

Have take bus for 15 minutes to go to the temple. 2,500 won for each person. The view on the bus is great on the left side and the opposite when you had back from the temple.

Temple itself is not attractive although it occupies a large land. The valley is gorgeous with tall trees, beautiful rocks, and emerald color water. Must visit place.

Really a beautiful temple and as I understand it, they are starting a program where you can stay a night or two and be treated to several ceremonies, including a tea ceremony. The river is gorgeous and everyone goes and builds little stone towers. There must be a couple thousand of them. I must say, one of the best parts is the bus ride in. It cant be described so just go experience it.
