Its located on the second floor and the stairs are to the left side of the building. Clean and large plentiful seating area. Ordered the wild ginseng chicken, pancake and fried spring chicken. Portions are reasonable priced and more than enough for 2pax. The small cups of wine is meant to be pour into the soup for more flavour. The ginseng soup was delicious and the chicken was tender with glutinous rice inside. The pancake was crispy and flavourful.

No trip to Korea is complete without trying Samgyetang, the iconic ginseng chicken soup. While searching for a spot near Myeongdong, we found ourselves at Baekje Samgyetang. It was a little tricky to locate, as the signage was in Chinese characters and we were navigating without knowledge of the Korean language. Stepping inside, the restaurant felt surprisingly spacious and noticeably cold, with air-conditioning blasting throughout the place. Stepping inside, the restaurant felt surprisingly spacious and noticeably cold, with air-conditioning blasting throughout the place. Each order of Samgyetang came with a complimentary cup of ginseng tea, along with a selection of banchan served on the side, a thoughtful touch to start the meal. The servers were friendly and could communicate in basic English or Mandarin, which made ordering and asking questions much easier for us. Ogolgyet'ang (Black Chicken Broth with Wild Ginseng) - 31,000 We went for one of the best items on the menu, Black Chicken Samgyetang with wild ginseng. Known for its nourishing properties, it’s believed to benefit the skin, muscles, and overall vitality, making it a delicious way to rejuvenate the body from within. This wholesome dish features a tender whole chicken stuffed with sticky rice and simmered to perfection with ginseng, garlic, and medicinal herbs. It’s the ultimate comfort food that’s both nourishing and delicious, often enjoyed to boost energy and vitality. Samgyet'ang (Cultivated by Wild Ginseng Root) - 25,000 We had the chance to try both the black chicken and the regular Samgyetang and enjoyed them both. The chicken in each was tender and flavorful. Naturally, the black chicken had a leaner build with less meat, but its rich, herbal depth made up for it. All in all, the meal was hearty, wholesome, and absolutely satisfying. As a side, we shared a seafood green onion pancake, crispy on the edges, packed with fresh ingredients, and absolutely delicious. A perfect complement to the hearty Samgyetang. Seafood Green Onion Pancake - 15,000 Another meal that truly hit the spot and fixed our craving! From the nourishing bowls of ginseng chicken soup to the tasty sides like seafood pancake, our visit to Baekje Samgyetang was a wholesome and memorable part of our Korean food journey. A comforting dish that’s worth seeking out when in Seoul.

I like to eat the Korean Chicken Ginseng Rice soup in the US but I had never tasted the authenticity and essence of such soup until this restaurant. The soup came in with a hot stone pot and it was sizzling for a couple of minutes! The meat fall off the bones and the soup was just right amount or flavor (you add a couple more seasonings that they provide). They also provided with a tiny cup of ginseng win too. Of course, a big bottle of the local beer made my meal complete. My soul and mind was soothed after the meal 😊

April25, unforgettable experience with ginseng chicken since last visit to S Korea (2000). This time round decided to have plenty of it and glad to find one on my 2nd day. It was hot and good. We order the top tier white chicken and onion pancakes. Somehow the Korea beer is dry cold, best.

Soup is bit bland until you start adding the seasoning. The black chicken is most expensive , lesser meat and didn’t come with any ginseng. They did add a small bottle of hair like ginseng roots to all the black/normal chicken soup. The best portion is the ginseng liquor . For the price paid , not sure I will return .

Been here a couple of times and it is a pretty nice Korean ginseng chicken soup, I like it for it’s simple plain style and you can add in the seasoning to your preference becuase the soup is quite clean and plain. Don’t have to pictures to show but the friend chicken is actually very good too. Seems popular with tourists.

My first time trying this dish. The broth was clear and mildly sweet — a bit too mild for my taste. They also offered a complimentary glass of ginseng wine.

Came for breakfast as it opens at 9am. Ordered the black chicken and it came in boiling hot soup with ginseng. Overall a very hearty meal to kick-start the day. The side dishes were nice to go with. This meal actually lasted me the whole day, it was that filling! The ginseng wine was.. happy to try however not my favourite.
