As far as grocery stores are concerned, in many ways, Baesler's Market is a typical grocery store, but in other ways, it's not a typical grocery store.
It's the same in that they have all the usual things that you would expect a grocery store to have; a bakery, meat counter, produce section, refrigerateurs with things like milk and cheese and other food, and freezers with frozen veggies and potatoes, ice crème and pizza, just to name a few. There is the typical type of things that you would expect that are canned, bottled and boxed in their aisles.
It's different in that they have a wider selection of those canned, bottled and boxed items in the aisles, and their prepared and take-away selections vary so much more than other stores that I have seen, not necessarily in Terre Haute either. If you don't want to cook, don't want to eat at a restaurant, and don't know what to eat, you can always go to Baesler's and find something to take away and eat dinner with something good, or get something for lunch at their deli.
The biggest advantage that Baesler's has over the other grocery stores in Terre Haute is that they are open 24/7. If you work bizarre hours and are up and out in the middle of the night like my hours and I am many times, and absolutely need to go grocery shopping, you can do that at Baesler's.
For me, it's in a part of town that is more than just a little out of the way for me, so if it's absolutely necessary, I will go there, I still like Mike's Market a lot because it's proximity to home, and I like Fresh Thyme Farmers Market for the same reason.
