We stayed in Samer's beautiful guesthouse for seven days in early June, and used it as the home-base for our week in Lebanon. We HIGHLY recommend staying here! We echo what many of the other reviews say - this is a gem of a house. ||The guesthouse is well-located near many charming restaurants & cafes and by the very popular/trendy Mar Mikhael area which was bustling with people throughout our stay. We were able to easily walk to many of the city's highlights from Baffa House, including the Sursock Museum and downtown, and for the few times we couldn't walk, either Samer helped us get a taxi or we simply ordered an Uber. Some of our favorite restaurants were Em Sharif Cafe, Kalei Coffee, Boubouffe, Hanamitri, Liza, and M. Sahyoun -- and we were able to walk to all of them from Baffa House.||We stayed in the blue room, which was spacious, tidy, and artistically decorated. Speaking of, the art & decor in Baffa House is one of the highlights, especially the art by Samer's aunt. ||We also loved the traditional Lebanese breakfast that Samer and his wife prepared everyday (especially Jessica's sfouf cake!). ||Samer was an excellent host, and always extremely helpful & generous with his insight & suggestions. He even connected us with an extraordinary guide (Fady), and helped arrange for our taxi from the airport. ||Electricity, A/C, wifi were all great and available throughout our stay. We felt safe throughout our travels in Beirut and Lebanon (Tripoli, Byblos, Baalbeck, Tyre, Sidon, Batroun) and ended up using USD to navigate our stay with no issues (only a few government-run museums required Lebanese lira, and it was easy to exchange USD). ||We had a wonderful time in Lebanon and were really happy with our decision to stay at Baffa House for the duration of our seven days while we took day trips to explore the country.
