DO BETTER, MY BELOVED BAGASBAS LIGHTHOUSE
Food service takes waaaaay too long; waited for a single cup of fried rice for 55 minutes. Cleanliness is the lowest I have ever seen – fridge top and sills are dirty af, tables are full of dust, it's like housekeeping is not doing their job. On top of that, the fixtures are poorly maintained – the door knob is rusting, the fridge won’t cool properly because the seal no longer touches the frame, the bathroom has a strange odour likely due to a leak somewhere, and several lights are busted. The rooms just feel neglected. It’s my beloved location and go-to place, but the poor housekeeping and lack of maintenance ruin the whole experience. Their service needs to IMPROVE A LOT. BLH management: I suggest you raise their wages so they are motivated to do their jobs (I heard they're earning just the bare minimum).
The only ones I can commend for doing above and beyond are receptionist Rachel (for being patient with my queries), waitress Charlotte (small but terrible woman who's the most efficient in what she does, even working double shifts), and that guy in the kitchen whose name I forgot to ask, but was very helpful – I usually take a while to decide on my order, but he sped things up because he understood exactly what I wanted. He could even customise recipes to my preference, especially when it came to adjusting sweetness levels and the type of sugar in my fruit shakes (btw, they have THE BEST orange shake!).
Despite my frustration with the slow service, poor cleanliness, and shabby maintenance, these three deserve credit for their dedication and attentiveness. Without them, my experience would have been far worse. The resort would have been perfect for its great ambiance and all, but the cleanliness issues and neglected upkeep really drag the whole place down.
