Normally a charming spot with friendly staff and ample outdoor seating, this place is a huge disappointment on the weekends. I highly recommend avoiding it on Saturdays between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. The wait times are lengthy, averaging at about 8-12 minutes, and the quality of food takes a serious hit during these busy hours. I ordered two bagels--one with egg, meat, and cheese, and a plain bagel with cream cheese, which I requested double toasted. I assumed I wold be receiving a well-done bagel with plenty of crunch. Despite my request, the plain bagel came out soft, only darkened around the edges, and overall nowhere near the crispy standard I expected.
The breakfast sandwich was equally disappointing, with the same underwhelming toasting and a complete lack of seasoning. While I've enjoyed their lunch options in the past, I'd advise against coming here for a quick breakfast bagel. The rushed preparation during busy times ruins what could be a simple, satisfying meal.
Lastly, and where I think the real issue lies: the kitchen seems overwhelmed with orders on weekends, which affects the quality and leads to long waits. I believe streamlining their menu or limiting breakfast sandwiches after 11 a.m. may help prevent more disappointed customers such as myself. The current setup isn't working, and it's clear they're more focused on clearing orders than ensuring quality. For a better breakfast experience, I'd suggest exploring other local cafés that maintain quality, even during busy periods.
