Bagels on the Ave

Simply luv it. Very courteous staff, always attentive and willing to help. Great selection of bagels and options to BYO. See my "Desperado Vegan" one in the photo LOL (please for those more versed in veganism, be kind in killing my hopes this was vegan... still delicious and at least "best-effort") ... And now upgraded Espresso Machine!

These people can’t be any nicer and friendlier! Came in for an everything bagel toasted with cream cheese. You may want to ask for light cream cheese? Had an orange juice, but it didn’t seem like freshly squeezed. I’d skip on the OJ next time. Something like $9 altogether.

I went here recently because the line to New York City Bagel & Coffee House across the street was too long. I ordered the Bacon Lovers egg sandwich that was on the specials board. The description was 3 eggs, cheese, bacon, even more bacon, and extra crispy bacon, salt, pepper, and ketchup on a roll for $8.95. I typically order a bacon, egg, and cheese on a roll, so I figured I would spend a little more and get more bacon. The description had me believing I’d have a good amount of bacon on the sandwich. What I got was basically just a regular bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. I was rather dissatisfied with the lack of bacon, and it was just a so-so sandwich. They basically just found a way to jack the price up on a regular sandwich. Lesson learned, next time I’ll wait for the better food at New York City Bagel & Coffee House. Look at the photo, and ask yourself if this looks like the amount of bacon you’d expect on a Bacon Lovers sandwich with a description like the one above.

My number one favorite dish in the world is Spicy Pork Bulgogi and this place got it right, that’s coming from someone who goes to every Korean restaurant to try it out!!! Huge portion sizes, great staff, $10 for a lunch special from 4-9 pm for these dishes, plus they have Wings (BBQ, Honey, Sirarcha)… can other places compare? Nope. This is a gem of a place. I’m so glad I gave it a shot. Will definitely be coming back.

I have been really enjoying their bagels. I placed an order via Grub Hub on 10/27/2022 for two bagels, one with lox and scallion, and the other with walnut & raisins. Guess what the lox and scallion had? a fish bone. I almost ate it! I called the restaurants to make them aware of this so they are more careful going forward. None of the people who answered the phone understood what I was trying to convey due to language barriers. They eventually hung up on me. Do nor order from here. See photo for reference.

I've been coming here since I was a baby. New owner is a great individual, the staff is amazing, and food is awesome!!! I usually get a plain bagel with cream cheese and butter. I decided to change it up once with a nice bagel with cream cheese and tomatoes.

My go-to local bagel spot. Great sandwiches in the morning, and I have been enjoying the Korean lunchboxes in the afternoons. Katsu is crispy and includes a ton of chicken for $10. Danny the new owner is super nice. Would recommend! 👍👍

Local owned and operated. Good prices, tasty food. Friendly staff. Fast service. What else do you need from a bagel shop?
