Baglio Balata Ristorante Pizzeria

4,5 * - The location is very nice and spacious and the servers are quite responsive. The food was good for the most part ( Tartarre was great, tagliata was also a good pick, tasty gnochhi) The pizza was underwhelming dough, and the spaghetti cacio e peppe were boiled at least 1 minute short of al dente. Prices were very reasonable, so all in all would definitely recommend

Our B and B recommended this place to us since we didn't research beforehand. Therefore I was a little skeptical at first (because I tend to steer away from touristy places) but it turned out to be better than I expected. It definitely didn't fit the mold of any restaurant I have been to in Italy so far. The space was very unique, open with plenty of seating and gave off a modern outdoor garden vibe. Definitely geared to the international traveler. They had an English menu and an extensive wine list with pictures and descriptions. Our appetizer was an eclectic mix of 2 types of cheeses, sundried tomatoes and olives, caponata and couscous served with pita like bread. Our main dishes were pasta based and were delicious! We even sprung for a slice of cheesecake with berries for dessert. If you are looking for something more traditional then this might not meet your expectations, but nonetheless it's worth a try if you are in the area.

I stopped here for a quick lunch on the way to Catania airport and had the best tuna (nicoise-like) salad I have ever eaten. Very generous, lots of vegetables including freshly cooked warm potatoes, plenty of olive oil and well seasoned. Served with warm flatbread. And the people were obliging and friendly.

Fabulous food. Friendly staff. Had fennel and orange salad , was amazeballs. All dishes really nice

Beautiful place! The staff is great, pizza is incredible, the daily suggestion, spaghetti with clams were amazing and the homemade tiramisu out of this world!!!

Very delicious typical Sicilian food.Excellent service.The restaurant was recommended to us by our host.We were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere, excellent service and perfectly cooked food!
