21 Best Things to Do in the Bahamas

"An unusual wine experience where you can "take a wine blending class with a California winemaker and create your own bottle of wine" inside a circa-1937 church in Nassau — "you’ll get to taste plenty of wines (for inspiration, of course) during the process," making this one of the most unique things to do in the Bahamas." - Skye Sherman Skye Sherman Skye Sherman is a travel writer based in West Palm Beach, Florida. I booked this excursion through Vacations to Go as something to do while in port on a Celebrity cruise in early October, 2025. It just so happened that my sister and I were the only ones doing the class which made it a lot of fun. Joshua answered all of our questions, made us laugh a lot, and just made it a very memorable experience for us. I highly recommend this fun experience where you can taste local wine and then make your own blend using even more of the wine (had to taste a lot to get it right, lol). My sister was having a great time, getting her blend just right. Definitely a memorable experience to celebrate our birthdays.

The red wine was so good. I love me a good sweet wine. I wanted to purchase, but I knew I wasn't going to have room. FYI, they do not deliver, so if you want it, you would need to purchase while you're there. Next time, I will definitely purchase.

I booked a wine making class, it was worth the money. We enjoy every minute of it. The host was very courteous and professional. We also got to make our own wine, cork it and label it. We got to take home two wine bottles that we made plus got to try alot of wine. Left there buzzed. Definitely will be back and bringing more people. You should definitely try this once in your lifetime!

Came here on an island tour excursion through Celebrity Cruise Line. The place is right off of the colorful umbrella street and the parking situation is quite a mess due to only street parking. Inside is a tiny tasting room and a larger wine shop. We got to do 6 tastings for $5 USD. The cups are the little disposable communion cups. We got to sample a blue colored wine as well as your standard wines and then a local fruit wine. Of all the places in the world where I've had wine, I've never had wine that tasted almost of water before. The only wine that was any good was the specialty fruit wine, but it was nearly $30 USD for a single bottle. Overall, while the guy pouring wine was personable and nice, unfortunately most of the wine was hands down the worst wines I've ever had. Visited: November 2024

Took my mom to the wine blending class that they offerred for her birthday. We booked through their website and added on fruit and charcuterie plates. Once we got there, they were cleaning out the area where the class normally takes place so we were put in this makeshift room that was kind of cramped and hot. They chose the wines for us to blend and make our own. That part was nice, however we never received our fruit and charcuterie plates, and by the time we mentioned it to them, we were almost done with the class and asked for it to go. We were made to wait way longer than we expected for it, and once we got it, it was very lack luster. We had to transfer it to paper plates, because they didnt have any to go containers and wrap it with plastic wrap. We had to ask for a bag several times until they were able to get one for us. Ive seen in other reviews that it included cheese and crackers. We didnt get any of that, just very hard to chew bread and the meats and fruits. I didnt think it was worth it at that point, especially since it was supposed to be eaten while you were tasting/mixing the wine. Overall very disorganized. Wish they wouldve prefaced on the website or on google that they were having issues with the main room where the class is supposed to take place.

I participated in the “Wine Maker for a Day” class and it was a lot of fun! Eleecye explained everything thoroughly and was very knowledgeable about wine. The charcuterie add-on was a nice accompaniment to the wine (and definitely large enough to share) and turned the experience into lunch as well as the class. I chose to make a red blend and am looking forward to opening my bottle for a special occasion.

Nice colorful place, visited as part of an excursion. Sampled a sweet wine. The store itself has several sections to buy gifts and souvenirs. Worth a quick visit.

Interesting shop. They offer wine tasting which I think would be fun and help choose a bottle of wine you like. We were going to do it but they were so crowded, we opted to just look around.
