Nestled on charming Harbour Island, Bahama House features cozy rooms and Bahamian cottages, a serene pool, and exceptional service that makes every stay feel like home.
"On an island that’s less than two square miles with fewer than 2,000 people, new hotel openings are bound to cause a stir—as did Bahama House when it launched on Harbour Island in January, 2017. It’s the newest outpostfrom the folks at Eleven Experience, a vacation outfitter known for offering elegance after a full day of bespoke escapades. Spread across a restored colonial home built in 1800, an annex, and two authentic Bahamian cottages and enclosing a freshwater lap pool, handcrafted tiki bar, and hot tub area, Bahama House’s 11 suites have been appointed with eclectically curated furnishings, artwork, and wall coverings, eschewing island kitsch for beach-chic sumptuousness. Though the hotel leans toward softer adventures thansister properties in Colorado , Iceland , and the French Alps, the flip-flop–wearing “experience managers” are on hand to arrange snorkeling and bonefishing excursionsandpaddleboard or kayak outings.Or they'll simply provide a fully stocked Yeti cooler for a day of lounging on famous pink-sand beaches."
It’s hard to imagine anything can be as warm and welcoming as a beautiful property with the amazing views and the perfect pool. But the staff goes above and beyond and it’s actually the part that shines the most. They help facilitate anything you need and they always do it with a smile on their face. I can’t imagine a better staff and a better property. We had an amazing time with our family, it was all things to the staff.

Absolutely stunning property, no need for waterfront when you have the best hotel staff on the island! Keva, Quon, Keith, Chris & Garreth are the best

It's not often you stumble on a boutique hotel that gets everything right. Great bedding, interesting decor, very good food, cozy public areas to hang, beautiful (interesting) books stacked in inviting piles, the right toiletries, some free cocktail selections, easy keypad entry points, friendly but low key staff. We couldn't get the turntable to work but liked the selection of albums in a small self serve bar area (2nd bar is outdoors). It felt like we were crashing at a private home since we stayed a little off season and arrived between groups for a couple of the days. The house has history (1800) but is fairly impeccably maintained. Great location too between the harbour restaurants and beach so we skipped the golf cart. We only ate one of our dinners on site but it was an excellent seafood curry and a delicious rum cake. We enjoyed the beach set up of comfortable lounge chairs, towels, umbrellas, lots of cold beverages and snacks plus a friendly attendant on hand. The pink sand beach is stunning, perfect for long walks - fairly empty and peaceful. Thanks Giorgia and the rest of the staff for a terrific stay!

From the minute we arrived to our warm welcome from the manager June, we truly did feel at home. There were 3 groups occupying 6 of the 11 rooms for our stay, and we had such fun getting to know the other guests while enjoying this beautiful place. The hotel interiors are gorgeous, with a very homely feel. The chef was also excellent, baking fresh cakes and bread for breakfast every day, as well as our “apres” treats from 5-7 each day. This was all complimentary, and selected drinks and cocktails are included for the entirity of your stay, which we hadn’t realised when we booked, and was a great benefit! They also put light snacks in your room with the mini bar, all of which is included. Harbour Island itself is full of charm, the restaurants are fantastic and everything is within walking distance, although a lot of people opted to use golf carts around the Island. We didn’t have the best weather but it really didn’t matter. We just cannot wait to return here, it has truly stolen a piece of our hearts!!

Based on the reviews and price point, I expected to be wowed by the Bahama House. The hotel experience was ok and we loved Harbour Island, but overall the hotel did not live up to a 4-star experience. Breakfast was limited in selection and always looked picked over. The bar was great, when staffed. If not, you may have to hunt down someone for a drink and forget about any poolside service. The beach is a 7min golf cart from the hotel, which was fine except when we would arrive to subpar service (no towels, limited drinks, no umbrellas). Our room was nicely decorated but loud both from Dunmore St and other guests. All in all, Bahama House was ok and didn’t ruin the trip but it definitely wasn’t additive.

Spent a couple of nights here for January holidays and was absolutely fantastic. The decor is beautiful and chic, the house is intimate and team very helpful. It was a couple of years ago but can still smell the delicious fragrance our room had. Also the beach set up with drinks and chairs is great.

Everything about our stay here was perfect! You will be hard pressed to find this level of service elsewhere. Everyone at the Bahama House was so kind, enjoyable, and helpful. They helped to plan the most incredible trip -- from massages and a boat day to a cocktail class and rum tasting with their incredible bartenders. We had the best time and are already planning a trip back!
