Bahía del Sol Hotel

We stayed for a week for our daughter's wedding. The location was spectacular and had lots of personality ~ not your "chain" feel. It is right on the beach with gorgeous landscaping including a grassy area with lounge chairs, paths through the jungle with notes about the vegetation, and an open dining area. The food was a delicious offering both traditional and "American". The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The front desk people had both Spanish and English speaking staff. They made every effort to help make the wedding festivities special! We all felt welcome and appreciated ~ and will have wonderful memories of our time there.

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel! The staff is kind, helpful and very polite. They truly want you to have a great stay. The food was wonderful as there was lots of options (easy snack by the pool or fancy steak dinner - they had it all). The cocktails were great! This is a good place for people who like to explore and walk. Everyday we walked the beach and met new people. We walked to a nearby store, restaurant, coffee truck, and brewery. We also went ATVing through the streets of Potrero which was fantastic. They have many great excursions to choose from! Snorkelling was also a highlight of our stay here. When issues arose (our lock and safe would not work) the staff quickly resolved the problems. The pool was clean and quiet. We felt relaxed and at ease during our 4 day stay!

Great location, wonderful staff, right on the beach, near a moped/motorcycle rental place and close to a bunch of restaurants. We stayed in the honeymoon suite even though we were there for our anniversary. It had cold A/C, sitting area, a private outdoor shower and jacuzzi tub, separate patio with a hammock and king bed. The food was great and very reasonably priced. We enjoyed breakfasts some mornings, a few lunches, and lots of yummy cocktails! The waiter brought the fly fans for the table each time which was so helpful. In general, when it comes to Costa Rica, bring bug spray for mosquitoes. Just good to have on hand. And if you don’t have it, they have it at the front desk!

Bahia del Sol is a wonderful destination that offers everything you could hope for in one place — an ideal location, breathtaking views, and comfortable accommodations. The service was exceptional; Justin, Freddy, Carlos, and the chefs provided outstanding hospitality and attention to detail throughout our stay. I would highly recommend Bahia del Sol to anyone seeking a seamless and memorable experience.

I would definitely recommend this place. You feel like you have your own private beach with less crowd.I stayed with my family for two nights, very nice, cozy resort on the beach. This is one of the only resorts right on the beach. Room are very nice with all the amenities. It was my anniversary & kids birthday they upgraded my room without any charges.the restaurant is decent . Pool & pool bar is good too. Many good restaurants around. Plays Conchal beach is just 10 minutes away from resort . You feel like you have your private beach. Staff is very nice. I

Overall, this is a lovely property for the price (Guanacaste is very expensive). We really appreciated the great a la carte breakfast every morning, which is included in the room rate, and the prime location directly on a beautiful sweep of Guanacaste beach. It's convenient for walking to several local restaurants, if you don't have a car, and centrally located to other nearby beaches, if you do have a car. The beach is just great, and we appreciated that there were plenty of beach chairs for all the guests so that things didn't feel crowded. The 2 for 1 happy hour attracts locals, which makes for a fun vibe, although we found the quality of the drinks just okay. ||Our major complaint was the noise at night from our room. We were located at the back of the property, adjacent to the "main drag," and our sleep was disrupted by noisy motorcycles and, on Saturday night, a bar/club across the street had what sounded like drunken karaoke until 1:30 in the morning. If it hadn't been our last night, we definitely would have asked to change rooms. However, overall, this was a very nice experience in Playa Potrero!

Very good hotel |Great location right on the beach.|WIFI was a little spotty. The towel system needs some updating. Breakfest was good . Front desk was very helpful. No real room service. I found it best to order at the restaurant and then have them deliver to the room. Pizza was surprisingly good and im from Nyc |

I think it could be argued you stay here mainly for beach access and the nice sunset views. Staff friendly and did their best to provide decent service. Rooms were very tired looking but comfortable. Kitchen had fridge/freezer and hob. Karaoke across the road on a Saturday night until 13.00am is like it's happening in your room so make sure you are out ;)
