Very mixed feeling about this beautiful property! The room was amazing, no questions asked. The beach and outdoor facilities equally amazing. The guests were also kind and happy. Parking is convenient and secure. The main issue was slow service (aside from the front desk and security guard). Twice we left dining areas because it was over 10 minutes to just get water. Once we waited over 20 minutes for two drinks. Breakfast was included, and just OK. The prices were also higher than other places on our itinerary.

We enjoyed our stay and I would recommend this cute boutique hotel if it fits what you are looking for. Don’t expect luxury accommodations. Do expect a cute spot on the beach for a reasonable price. Agree with other reviewers who said there is not a great deal to do, but it’s a good spot for some relaxation time. Despite being high season, we never had trouble finding deck chairs in the shade under a big beautiful tree. Although the beach is dark sand, it was the only beach in CR we visited that did not have bits of litter here and there. After travelling to Playa Conchal which some claim is nicer because of the white sand, we preferred to beach at the hotel because there was no debris floating in the water (this is something that really grosses me out, personally). Waves were big enough to be fun for my teens without feeling dangerous. In fact playing in the waves here was my daughter’s favourite part of the trip. We could keep an eye on her from our deck chairs. Our family enjoyed the included breakfast. We did not eat at the restaurant for lunch or dinner. We ate at Lorita and loved it so much we just kept returning there for dinner.

This is a wonderful resort. The staff is very accommodating. The room was clean and the grounds are well kept. When they clean the room, they don't change the sheets but, do tidy up and take out garbage's. We did have a couple "small" issues. The microwave in our room kept having to be reset but, one of the staff showed up to "fix" it so, we were able to handle the reset each time after that. There are 2 fans in the room but only 1 remote to work them. There was no instruction on how to use them (LOL-it's more difficult than you think). Not a lot to do at this location unless you are looking for a relaxing, holistic stay. They offer yoga, a few beach loungers and a swim up bar. The hot tub was a little dirty but, with the vegetation, it's to be expected. Complimentary breakfast was really good - THE PANCAKES ARE WONDERFUL! We were under the impression there were more activities close by but, other than hanging out at the beach, not a lot. You will need to travel to Brasilito, Playa Flamingo or Tamarindo for activities. We rented a car so, it wasn't a huge deal for us and these places are at most 35 minutes away. We enjoyed sport fishing, surfing and shopping in the towns near by. Over all, not too bad a way to spend Christmas.

Beautiful hotel grounds, rooms and location but certainly not value for money. I know Costa rice is very expensive but what we paid did not reflect what we got and then the restaurant and bar prices were crazy!!! Not competitive compared to the nearby bars and restaurants. They had a happy hour 5:30-7pm which they claimed was 2 for 1 but they inflated the drinks prices for happy hour so it wasn’t actually 2 for 1!! The service of the restaurant staff was also very poor. They ignored you for ages and service was slow. The pool area also needs a bit of cleaning. Still enjoyed the stay though, it was great for chilling out at for 3 days.

We have stayed here before beautiful hotel grounds well maintained and staff is very friendly and accommodating. Rooms were comfortable and clean. It was wet season so the outdoors smelt a bit stinky due to water that runs in front of rooms also was never offered our welcoming beverage and the beach front was not raked so|Many sticks and garbage from. Restaurant and food was excellent and pool was clean. Overall a great hotel option with lots of options and in a great location to town and food options

My husband and I spent 4 nights here and thoroughly enjoyed our time. Room: the room size and amenities are good. Minibar prices are high as expected. Fortunately there is a convenience store a few minutes walk away. The AC worked great! The closet provided was quite spacious. The bathroom was huge! Our hot water stopped working the first night and the staff got it fixed right away. Like many places in Costa Rica, you cannot flush your toilet paper, so a foot-pedal trash can is provided. Bathroom amenities were nice including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap and hand lotion. You could hear some carry-over noise from the neighboring room through the bathroom but that was about it. It can get VERY steamy in the bathroom so keeping the doors closed is a good idea so the main room doesn't get too stuffy. There are lots of windows (privacy frosted) in the bathroom. The arrangement of the room, bathroom, doors and darkening curtains with the doors is a bit weird, but definitely workable. Restaurants: The main restaurant provides a breakfast buffet every morning. The open-air dining room overlooks the lawn and beach area and is a beautiful place to eat! The breakfast buffet was fine - never had anything bad, and the maduros were always on point. We ate our lunches/dinners outside of the resort. Amenities: sadly, the pool was not kept up well. There was always a lot of sediment at the bottom and leaves/debris floating on the surface. I mentioned this to the front desk and that didn't go anywhere. In 4 days I never once saw someone skimming the pool. It's too bad because it is lovely and has a swim-up bar. Beach and lawn: The view is just gorgeous. There are lots of loungers and Adirondack chairs. Space under umbrellas or the trees are limited, so if you want a guaranteed spot, you should try to get out earlier. The beach is lovely, with nice temperature and mild waves during our stay. Sunsets are AMAZING! General notes: The grounds are directly adjacent to other properties, so you a literally a few minutes walk from many amenities. There are many great local restaurants including Hemingway's and Tandoor. The staff is generally very friendly. Some do not speak great English, so learning and speaking Spanish is not only respectful, but also very helpful!

Location, location, location. That’s what this property offers. Our room was large but oddly-appointed (e.g., there were numerous light switches placed in different t places around the room, to the point it took us several minutes to find the ones that turned off the main ceiling lights). The mattress was lumpy and not very comfortable. Breakfast was minimal and as others have said, primarily carbohydrates (other than scrambled eggs). Location is very good but there are an inadequate number of lounge chairs for the guest capacity. Staff were ok, but when I injured myself due to an oddly-structured roof on which I bumped my head, causing substantial bleeding, they didn’t make a report of the incident. Perhaps that’s common practice in CR, but it was still odd. Proximity to restaurants is good and we recommend Tandoor Indian restaurant just down the street.

Great affordable boutique hotel with stunning views and prime location on the beach. Hotel grounds were well maintained with lots of lush landscaping and lounging areas. Enjoyed the free breakfast every morning too! Would recommend as great value for the price. Several restaurants, bars and a grocery store within walking distance as well.
