Traveling solo to this resort in Samaná was one of the best decisions I’ve made. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel safe, seen, and entirely at ease. Their warmth, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality created a welcoming environment that instantly felt like home.||My room was a peaceful haven, but the *view* — absolutely breathtaking. From my private balcony, I had an unobstructed view of the ocean, and every morning began with the gentle sound of waves and soft Caribbean breezes. I spent hours sitting there, watching the water and listening to the tide roll in — it was healing in every sense.|| Dining solo never felt awkward here; the staff made sure I was always comfortable, and the serene setting made every meal feel special. There was a calm rhythm to everything that allowed me to savor the moment truly.||I treated myself to a massage and pedicure at the spa. The space was serene, and I left the spa feeling both pampered and rebalanced.||What I loved most about this place was the atmosphere — tranquil, intimate, and homelike. It was the perfect place to disconnect from the noise of daily life and reconnect with myself. Whether I was journaling by the ocean, reading on my balcony, or swimming in the ocean, everything about this trip nourished my spirit.||If you're a solo traveler looking for peace, beauty, and heartfelt hospitality, this resort is a slice of heaven. I came here alone, but I left feeling deeply cared for — and completely renewed. I am grateful to have had this experience and appreciate every one of the staff. ||I am already planning my return.

In general i only post good review but i had to. I recently stayed at Bahia Principe Samana and while the location is undeniably beautiful, I left feeling disappointed. The beach is stunning, and the hotel's exterior and building design are impressive — it definitely has a lot of potential. However, the major issue was the food. Not only was the quality poor, but the buffet area was extremely hot with no air conditioning, which made it hard for the food to stay fresh. Even worse, there were flies all over the food — it was genuinely disgusting and unhygienic. I even took videos to document it and plan to share them publicly. Many other guests were complaining about the same thing, so this clearly isn't a one-time issue. What’s most frustrating is that the staff seemed fully aware but made no effort to solve it. If management takes food safety seriously, this place could be incredible. But until then, I can’t recommend it. We tried to stay possitive samana is so beautiful but the experience was really bad.

We are Bahia Principe Privilege Club members, and this is the first time visiting the Bahia Principe Grand Samana. Some aspects from other reviews of this resort are pretty accurate (limited nightlife, small resort, etc.), but if you are looking for the most beautiful and relaxing setting, this is the place for you.||The resort is small (only one pool and two bars - lobby and pool, limited restaurants), but it is the most beautiful Bahia resort we have stayed at (we have visited Punta Cana and La Romana in the DR, Runaway Bay in Jamaica, and Tulum in Mexico). The views from our room and anywhere in the resort are incredible. The beach is small, but there were plenty of cabanas available throughout the day.||There is limited a la carte dining available (only a few nights per week), but the buffet had plenty of variety, and all of the food was really good. Service throughout the resort was top notch - we saw the same staff throughout the week.||Nightlife was limited to singers in the lobby every night, and the show ended at 10 pm. Again, if you are seeking a boisterous nightlife, this is not the resort. The singers and bands were all excellent.||It is a 2.5 hour ride from the Santo Domingo airport to the resort on 2-way roads. You get a good feel for the variety of landscape on the island, but it makes for a long travel day.||If you are looking for a RELAXING getaway in a BEAUTIFUL resort, visit the Bahia Principe Grand Samana.

I just returned from a 7-day stay at the Bahia Principe Grand Samana, and I would go back in a heartbeat! This resort is incredibly quiet, exactly what we needed to escape our busy lives. During our stay, the resort was about half full, which added to the peaceful atmosphere. They have a great gym—I was there every day! We also visited the Limón Waterfall for $50 USD, which included a lovely ride to get there and some enjoyable physical activity (walking). The dining area offers breathtaking views of the ocean, making every meal even more special. I can’t wait to return to this amazing resort!

Our third floor room was very comfortable with an excellent ocean view. The furniture was dated. The room and the balcony was kept exceptionally clean by the cleaning staff. Thank you.|There are many steps in the resort, but some could be avoided by using the elevators in the main and our accommodation building.|The gardens were very well maintained and the resort was kept immaculately clean, including the many public toilets, although many were short of paper towels.|The beach and pool were great, the pool clean all of the time. Shade at the pool was difficult to find.|At every other resort we stayed at (and there are many) the lobby bar is open in the morning for coffee and drinks including alcohol. Not here. It didn't open until 4-00pm, meaning you had to go downstairs to the dining room for coffee, if you could get it, or pool bar. It had a coffee machine but was never used. Very strange!!|The food for the most part was acceptable. The Don Pablo place was very good with excellent service.|All of the meals were buffet style, with breakfast being the best.|The problem with all buffet meals is that they can be good at the beginning of the meal period but deteriorate after 3+ hours. This was the case here, particularly supper, starting at 6-00pm and ending at 10-00pm. We like to eat late and by the time we get there, some of the food appeared inedible and unappetizing. It was very very pleasant to eat meals in the shaded open air overlooking the ocean.|Something we have noticed about some resorts,The vast majority of staff and this is one of them, they often advertise so called "top shelf" drinks are included when they are not. Could this fall under false advertising !! ?|The vast majority of staff were very helpful, courteous and work very hard. I can't remember the name of the young man at the front desk, but he was particularly helpful. Thank you all.|From the foregoing we do not consider this resort 5 star

Arrived today and this place is amazing. Beautiful room with views of the ocean. Facility is totally first class. Friendly, competent check in, valet parking, pool bar. Haven't been to beach yet but it looks great. Haven't eaten yet but the dining rooms are elegant. I'll add more once I have tasted the all inclusive lunch and dinner buffets. I'm not typically a fan of buffet food but I'm hoping they pull it off. Time for a nap with a water view. Not an angled, partial view obstructed by trees, buildings, and what not. Rather a full, ocean front view, from left to right amazing view. Cheers.
