We stayed in Sian Kaan for our honeymoon and had an amazing time.||From the moment we checked in the staff were so helpful and accommodating, the level of service was outstanding throughout our stay. Guest services were great at accommodating any requests we had and sorting restaurant bookings.||The choice of a La carte restaurant options was plentiful and the standard of food was excellent. I would highly reccommend the Ku’uk, Don Pablo and Thali restaurants in particular but all of them were brilliant. |The buffet had a good variety of food for breakfast lunchtime and once again the service was great! ||The entertainment team Amelia, Pamela, Alex and Delmar were brilliant, plenty of activities throughout the day and lots of fun and laughter to be had. They really did make our holiday extra special! |||The vibe at the hotel is very relaxed, it is an adults only hotel with quiet areas to relax, the top pool where the activities take place is a bit livelier and overall was a great place to relax throughout the holiday. The bar staff regularly take drink orders and bring them to your sun lounger. |||Use of the other hotels such as Coba, Akumal and Tulum was great, the shuttle service between the hotels was efficient and you were never waiting long for a ride.|We used the infinity pool at Akumal quite a bit during our stay and this was brilliant as well. ||My wife and I do not usually return to the same hotel twice but we will definitely be coming back. |||10/10

Spent 11 fabulous days at the resort and could have stayed longer! Staff went above and beyond for all guests. We loved having a pool seconds from our room, was perfect for everyday sun bathing. The main restaurant served an amazing selection of food from breakfast, lunch and dinner, but loved having the choice of the snack bar if wanted a lighter option and room service was a perk especially if you arrive after a late night flight. Loved the shuttle to the other resorts and the beach! And being able to use the other restaurants was a massive perk! Our favourite after dining twice was the Japanese at the resort! Only cons, the rooms were a little dated, being so far away from exploring Mexico and if you needed to buy anything (emergency medication, toiletries, extra suncream etc) the prices were crazy high!

We stayed there end May/start of June 2025. We’ve been to Sian Kaan 3 times and will return ! I could write so much about this brilliant hotel but will pick out the main points. As we arrived in the taxi Jorge from Guest Services came straight over with a wheel chair for me as I have a disability. Jorge continued to help with our check in and going to our room. Also a big mention to Enrique from Guest Services who helped me getting about the resort snd dealt with an issue with our room and gave us much information about the resort. Keep smiling Enrique ! Also a big shout out to Delmar, Alexander and the rest of the entertainment team. Always offering fun and activities at the activity pool. Also the pool bar staff who constantly come round the pool area offering to bring drinks. There is a choice of pools though as they have a quiet pool beside Alux restaurant. The evening live entertainment was varied and good. We loved the a la carte restaurants around the resort but I’m going to give a special mention to the manageress, Carmen at the Japanese restaurant Maiko at Sian Kaan. We went there 3 times. Also a special mention for the buffet restaurant Yalku. It is the best buffet restaurant I’ve ever been to with Great quality food, superb selection, and good service from waiting staff. Looking forward to returning to the Sian Ka’an and seeing the very attentive staff again. 🥰

My family and I had the opportunity to experience what Bahia Principe had to offer. We were greeted by Arely Martinez at the front desk. She was nothing short of amazing. Communicative and friendly; she answered all our questions and made recommendations according to our preferences. The accommodations were in line with what one would expect from a 5 star hotel. Breathe taking views, amazing pools, and delicious food and drinks, and a wonderful staff. I will definitely be coming back and recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience a luxurious vacation.

We had the most amazing holiday for many reasons. Guest services were fabulous and helpful if required - particularly Camilla. The Al a carte restaurants were superb (use the app to book them before you arrive). Our room was stunning - stayed in a jacuzzi suite. The entertainment team were great (particularly Alex and Delmar) but our biggest shout out goes to Delmar who is absolutely exceptional. He truly made our holiday amazing. He is so professional, excellent in everything and very funny. He is an absolute asset to the resort. We are already exploring booking again and will 100% return. When you’ve experienced this hotel you won’t want to go anywhere else! A massive Thankyou to everyone and I can’t recommend Sian Ka’an enough.m to anyone.

Google
I really enjoyed my recent stay for 4 nights with my spouse. I had a food allergy and they worked hard to communicate with me about what I could and could not eat. What is amazing is this is a smaller resort but you can access the other larger ones they have on the other side of the road (via overpass, it's safe). The customer service was exceptional. I would absolutely recommend this resort to family and friends. I do not know enough about the connected resorts to recommend those but I was happy with ours since it was smaller and quiet.

Google
This is a perfect place to relax and get your energy back. It is away from the noisy other site in a good forest environment. The rooms in some cases may need a little work, but on our July trip, they have started upgrades in different areas and will eventually get to the rooms. In any case, all rooms are very clean and don’t forget, you are not on vacation for the rooms but for the relaxing environment. This is our favourite place, and for good reasons, you will see. Just the right size. Enjoy, we did.

Google
The staff in the buffet restaurant are outstanding, they are very attentive and friendly and superb at ensuring you get everything you need. Shout out to Fernando and Suami who been excellent along with all who work with them. The food offerings are superb, taking advantage of Mexicos fantastic local produce. Will be back for a 4th time to Sian Ka’an soon. Will miss it so much. Delmar and his entertainment were excellent, making each day fun and encouraged friendships between everyone while putting a smile on our faces.

Yelp
This was a great resort, the staff are super friendly, always a smile and hello. Alex, Delmar and Pamela made the entertainment activities so much fun, Hermelindo at Ku'uk was wonderful, Isabel in guest services was fantastic, Ms. Eglaydy at the buffet was awesome, Roberta helped us with excursions. The rooms were spacious and clean, the food was good, you could find something new to try each day, the restaurants were OK. The pools were clean and not crowded, there was a mix of ages, we didn't go to the beach due to the seaweed. It is a good value for the money, if you go with an open mind and positive attitude, you will have a blast, if you go expecting the Ritz-Carlton, you will be disappointed.

Yelp
Thoroughly enjoyed our 7 night stay. They lose one star due to the rooms and the trolleys. Rooms: Outdated and not luxury at all. Bed was comfortable, but not at all romantic or special in any way. Needs updating. Food: absolutely delicious. Every place we ate did not disappoint. One of our faves was the sushi restaurant, sooooooo good! Beach: The Sian Ka'An beach was wonderful and private. We did stay as a privilege guest which was awesome. The actual water was a bit of a disappointment due to how rocky it was. But for actual beach bumming it was lovely. One complaint, there are no smoking signs on the beach beds, clearly visible, but it's not enforced. BIG BUMMER for that one. It does seem the staff is afraid to confront people from Europe or Canada. Trolleys/golf carts: this is where being privilege was the most worth it. They came and picked us up at our room for dinner reservations that were at sister resorts. Rather than wait for the trolley to the beach we could request a private cart. The trolleys were a bit frustrating. Lot of times there wasn't one headed back to Sian Ka'An so there would be a long wait with a lot of confusion while being eaten alive by mosquitoes. Night entertainment: enjoyable but nothing to make a highlight of the trip. Pools: they were ok, overcrowded for our taste, so we stayed at the Sian Ka'An privilege beach the majority of the days. Hacienda: eh. Same stuff for sale over and over. Prices were nothing to be excited about. Overall we loved our stay but I wouldn't recommend it for a honeymoon or a special occasion. There are too many children at the sister resorts and the ambiance is not romantic.

Yelp
The staff can be rude at times and inconsistent with the information they provide. I went to the cafe and as I looked for a spoon to eat some soup, the male waiter asked me "what do you want" very rudely. It was sad because this is not the pretties, most up to date reaper and hotel. No elevators, the rail is broken in our room that is attached to the stairs

Yelp
We visited March 9-14th. The drive from Cancun Airport to Sian Ka'an is roughly 1hr and 30mins. We were greeted with warm hand towels and champagne before we even checked in. The workers that greeted us were so welcoming we felt like family right away. My room was beautiful, Comfortable bedding, CLEAN, fast wi-fi, large shower, refrigerator is complimentary stocked each morning. Room food service 24 hours a delight! The resort itself is nestled in a forestry setting, beautiful palm trees, different plants and trees are everywhere. I saw hot tubs a few feet away from guests room door, for those who reserved rooms on the bottom floors. Seems very romantic! So this resort says "Couples" BUT... if your are bet. 25-45, and like a loud, busy, hyper, crazy music, young people atmosphere you may not like it so much. Unless you can adapt easily. This resort has lots of OLDER folks, no pun intended. It's extremely relaxed, If you love peace and quiet this is the place for you. I believe they only have 100 rooms, 2 pools and is the smaller of the resorts on the property, I saw a lot of people complaining about Sian Ka'an having no beach. It does not have a beach in the back BUT you do have access to the Resort beach ! All you have to do is jump on one of the buggy (golf looking) cart OR walk up to the lobby the buggy takes you to Akumal another property on the resort, where the beach is wide open to you. The drive to Akumal beach from Sian Ka'an is about 10 mins. You never leave the resort to get to the beach... It also has it's own road, built over the local road that gets you to and from the other hotels which you have access to. Driving through each property is so beautiful you get to see the other hotels, Like Coba, Tulum and of course Akumal. The beach is CLEAN and beautiful. They have music, lots of different activities and shows. dancing, exercise in the water, lots of fun stuff. You also have access to Akumal's pools, beautiful. You can have lunch and head back to the beach or pools. Sian K'aan does have nightly music and entertainment out by the lobby. It is really nice and everyone seems to enjoy the festivities each evening. The buffet restaurant has endless choices of everything. Food is delicious. Buffet is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you miss breakfast or lunch you can visit the "Snack Bar" which is another buffet type restaurant, endless choices for everyone, even for my vegans, gluten free, vegetarians peoples etc. Sian Ka'an got y'all covered.

Yelp
TL;DR Great adults-only stay at a beautiful resort, with access to three other properties. Food options were a bit of a miss, but wouldn't keep us from coming back. My fiancée and I stayed at Sian Ka'an for an 8-day getaway. First... the grounds are exceptionally BEAUTIFUL. The plants, the scenery... it's all incredible. Check-in was easy. And the property app was a welcome addition. We had a couple of hiccoughs during our stay (we were placed in a room with two beds, despite asking for one and noting our anniversary celebration and the curtain in our room fell down) but everything was handled quickly by the staff. The Entertainment Team, restaurant staff, and a few of the front desk crew brought this stay from mediocre to exceptional. The foam parties are so fun and a huge bonus. The Aqua Fit, Circus Show, and Silent Disco kept us entertained without being overwhelmed. We received so much love and care from Samantha (front desk - who helped out when my fiancée got sick and kept checking in on us), Ulises (Entertainment), América (Cenote Restaurant - made sure the mozzarella sticks were always stocked), and so many more. Our only critique was the food. The a la carte restaurants require reservations (we visited Maiko, Makaido, La Gran Tortuga, . We were consistently served food that was room temperature, even at the fine dining restaurant. At the buffet, a lot of the food was the same from day to day. I really wish the Mexican section was expanded..., especially since... we're in Mexico. Also... warning that if you're vegan or vegetarian, you might have a hard time getting substantial food options. On this trip, we opted against excursions, but the reservations staff is in the lobby and super helpful. Will definitely go back... but next time for a long weekend instead of week or more.

Yelp
Didn't stay here but had to eat at Maiko Restaurante Japones because we had just arrived in the compound, it was late and pouring rain and there seemed to be no other options. An absolute scam and the worst, more inedible food we've had in our lives. They seemed to be mad that we weren't eating and the small bites I did have left me with a bad stomach for two days. It was just bizarre and then we realized they were scamming us to pocket cash. We ended up paying at the lobby and weren't asked about the amount to tip.

Yelp
*** Overall a surprisingly good value for an all-inclusive resort. *** I've stayed at several all-inclusive Mexican resorts over the years. Sian Ka'an tops my list. It's adults only and offers more activity ... BAR Many premium brand spirits from which to choose. Me likes! From tequilas to scotch, a quality selection is available here. BUFFET Breakfast buffet is fresh and very diverse: many choices. Theme foods served nightly: Seafood, Asian, Italian, etc. FINE DINING Definitely make a reservation to eat at Alux and Maiko. It's nice to have an elegant date night and dress-up a lil. Alux is modern overlooking one of the blue-lit poolsides. Maiko serves superb Japanese-styled cuisine .... 5-star. (Also, Los Corales is on the beach for 5-star Brazilian.) ENTERTAINMENT The nightly shows off the lobby were fun performances. From break-dancing to lip-syncing to acrobatics, I must admit that several of their performers are quite talented. SERVICE Last but not least, staff is always friendly and attentive. Accommodating with a smile is how I'd describe them. Very refreshing. Polite service makes relaxation easy. *** Would I visit again? Definitely, hopefully soon. ***

Yelp
SOLID 3.75 stars Please know, I've been to a five star resort with a butler and top notch service, so even though this is a really great resort it is certainly NOT five stars. PROS: you get to go to three sister resorts. Adults only, not over crowded, pretty private, hotel rooms are clean. Free upgrade for coming on my 7 year anniversary. Room included an outside jacuzzi and on one day we were greated to a bed filled with flowers a bottle of champagne and two glasses. Food is great every night and restaurants are pretty solid. Entertainment is also a lot of fun. CONS: the sister resorts are NOT nearby, instead they are atleast 10min away. MOSQUITO CITY. If you do not have OFF, be ready to be eaten alive by those little suckers. Though the room is clean with a king size bed, the bed is the hardest I've slept in. Though they advertise butler service, it doesn't really exist. Room service options for food are pretty bad. You are not even close to a beach, and have four small surrounding pools. Akumal is one of the sister resorts and that one seemed to be a lot more fun that Sian Kaan. There were also less mosquitos there, it's right in front of the beach, the resorts itself is huge and hip sand entertainment is much better there. What I liked about Sian Kaan is that it does feel like you are in the middle of a jungle and has a very fresh and different feel from all other resorts I've been to. Before booking I would look into the adults only option for Akumal and if it's cheaper, certainly go for that one. I believe Sian Kaan is the most expensive option of the bunch.

Yelp
This place is hands down the best all inclusive I've been to date. They're very accommodating and the rooms are so nice. Views are great. Entertainment (especially the circus) was incredible. Everyone is super nice except some servers are a little impatient but that's very rare. Adults only is a great area as well. Be careful about the shuttle service to and from. The independent shuttle service Bahia is corrupt along with airport personnel and taxi so beware! Do not accept help from anyone just figure it out. We were taken for $300 because the airport driver told us our shuttle broke down but the shuttle service said we never showed up after waiting for an hour for them.

Yelp
Warning: this is going to be long but informative. We booked this past week 12/17-12/23 at Sian kaan, and we absolutely loved our experience. Below I will highlight some pros and cons so you can navigate if this resort is the one for you. Sian Ka'an is a part of the Bahia Principe line- this resort is adults only, but you have access to the three resorts across the street (Tulum, Coba, and Akumal). Golf carts come every 5 minutes to take you across the highway over a bridge to the other resorts. This was 0 problem at all and in fact we liked being able to go to other resorts as Sian Ka'an isn't super large. The golf carts also take you to the beach (adult only section) at the sister resort, as Sian Ka'an is in a jungle and not on a beach. We aren't really beach people and only went one day, but it was very easy to get to and took about 10 mins in total. The best food by a landslide is at Sian Ka'an. We tried the below restaurants and the rankings below are what we thought were best - worst (even so, worst was good). 1) maiko at Sian Ka'an (Asian, fish, duck, etc) 2) mashua at Coba (sushi and Peruvian/ stir fry- steak and lobster option too) 3) alux at Sian Ka'an (steak , soup, fish, etc) 4) arlequin at Akumal (fish , steak, etc) 5) le gourmet at Coba (french- normal entrees with lots of cheeses, carpaccio, soup, salmon tartar) 6) la gran tortuga (salad bar and Brazilian steak house) All of our waiters at each were excellent. Victor at Alux Luis at tortuga angel at le gourmet and roger at mashua. We tipped each of them $20 at the end of the meal and they seemed appreciative. For lunches we liked the buffet at Sian Ka'an but also looooved the salad bar at the snack bar by the pool. Would go there for lunch a few days. We also got a massage at Sian Ka'an by barbara and Claudia. They were both very sweet- massages seemed overpriced ($240 for a couples massage for 50 mins) but it's a resort so no surprise there. Both masseuses were lovely. Pools- we enjoyed the pools on the main side of the resort. The first pool closest to lobby gets sun the earliest around 930 am (across from Alux) on one side of the pool so we put our towels there almost everyday and we're out by 930am. Downside is some pools are partial shade but there's a lot of people who seem to prefer shade. The resort is quiet, but there is entertainment every night. It is a perfect place to relax at the concierge service/bar tending staff couldn't have been nicer. RESORTS RANKED: 1) Sian Ka'an 2/3 tie) Akumal and Coba 4) Tulum - worst in cleanliness and things to do by a landslide. We didn't even want to go back for dinner after walking through the resort to get to Gran Tortuga PROS: concierge service to bring things to your room, room service was fantastic, quiet and relaxing atmosphere, smaller more modern resort . **Tip** join the Bahia rewards program online and you'll get $80 ish dollars off and free transportation to / from airport ! We did this and it worked out wonderfully- we just tipped $20 each way. We also never got a large sales pitch by anyone which was great and refreshing CONS: our only real con was $20 was taken from our room at one point on our second to last day. We didn't have things in a safe (our fault) and the staff filed a report. Just be careful leaving things out in your room. Also- if you like wine the house white is a terrible Chardonnay. Bring a few bottles on the plane - I saw someone say this in a review prior but neglected to listen (my bad!) Overall: I would give it a 4.4/5 stars. Compared to other all inclusives I've been to (probably 6) this beat them in food and service and cleanliness by a landslide. For the price I couldn't believe how nice it was, and how good the "buffet" food was. I would go back for a vacation - that's how much I loved it. Highly recommend !

Yelp
My husband and I spent a week here in late December. Overall we had a good time but I'm not so sure I would stay here again. This resort is part of a cluster of resorts and is the furthest from the beach. To get to another resort, the gym, the beach, the shopping area, etc., you need to wait for a trolley. Keep in mind that it was the resorts busy season when we stayed, and I hated the trolley system. On more than one occasion my husband and I had to wait 30-40 minutes to even get on a trolley at peak times. On average we only needed 30 minutes to get somewhere, but that made morning and evening walks on the beach a bit unfeasible, especially if the round trip commute time is an hour. We paid for the standard junior suite. Major regrets in this department- everyone we spoke to loved the jacuzzi and said it was worth the upgrade. Definitely book the jacuzzi suite if you're staying in the winter months. As for our room, I found the bed to be extremely uncomfortable as the mattress was quite lumpy. Even though the room had blackout shades, they were poorly designed and still let light in. If you're like me and sleep in a pitch black room, you're not sleeping well on vacation. One plus is that the room was very quiet at night. As for the food, I'm still disappointed that I didn't get to eat the best tacos of my life everyday. The resort caters to people from many different countries and tried to please everyone by providing the foods they are accustomed to at the buffet, and unfortunately many things are mediocre. However there are a few delicious items if you get there when the service first begins. Also, the after dinner cappuccino served in the bar is everything. Next, the entertainment. I was pleasantly surprised that there was a show every night around 8. The shows were unexpectedly fun and recommend that you arrive early to get a good table. The beaches and pools were really nice! My husband and I really enjoyed the adults only beach located next to the adults only infinity pool and had an easy time finding chairs in this area. Download the app and make all of your dinner reservations as soon as you arrive. Otherwise you'll be stuck eating late (or early) if you really want to make it to a popular restaurant. Also, we used the app to request blankets as it was a bit cold at night and received them quickly! Tips: Bring reusable stainless steel straws. The resort has gone straw free (yay, environment!), but it's not that fun to drink mojitos without a straw. Bring a comfortable sleep mask if you can only sleep in a dark room.

Yelp
Love this place. Third time here and mostly I'll be coming back again. The Sian Kàn is best out of the whole resort. Adults only. The food is delicious. I paid little more the penthouse but well worth the private jacuzzi on the roof. No pesky mosquitoes up here. Only problem is little far from the beach. The crowd here is more elderly than other sections they have. Beautiful beach and the workers here is really friendly. Always greeting you and happy to help you I've been to lots different resorts but so far this place is one of my favorite. Love this place and going back on February and August of 2019.

Yelp
This is a great place to stay for couples or adult families without kids. It is a short hour to hour and a half ride from the Cancun airport. It is up hill across the main street from the remainder of the resorts it is clustered with (only a 20 minute walk down the hill or a quick ride on their shuttles that come every 10 minutes) at the beach. The benefit of staying at Sian Ka'an versus the other Bahia Principe resorts across the street, is this section is adults only (18+) and therefore has more peaceful accommodations, and higher quality food and alcohol. Additionally, it is far less crowded (6 units per building vs 18 units per building at some of the resorts down the hill). Staying at the Sian Ka'an allows the traveler full access to all of the restaurants, beaches, and amenities down the hill, but also provides a peaceful hideaway. There are some areas of the beach where only "Luxury" patrons (which Sian Ka'an travelers are) can sit. We traveled as a group of 6 adults and found that it was very nice to have this peaceful and less crowded section, which was still plenty close to anything we needed (bar, pool, restrooms). We stayed December 26th - January 2nd, so we were there through the New Year, and it was managed quite well despite the increased crowds. There were definitely a lot more people on the beach on January 1st, as they allow people to purchase day passes (with limited amenities) but we were still able to get down to the beach at a reasonable hour and had no issue getting chairs. We have traveled as a group of 6 (3 adult couples) for the past 5 years, always over this busy holiday week, and we found this to be one of the better resorts. The only thing which would improve our stay would have been if the Sian Ka'an had its own gym. (Patrons have access to two gyms, but they are both about a 20 minute walk away. Not a big deal, but would be nice to have one up at the Sian Ka'an as well.)

Yelp
Would recommend to save your money and go somewhere else where customers are valued. I've been a fan of Gran Bahia for years but that was all changed after our last stay. We got food poisoning day 3 which was very unfortunate, we then had bugs crawling all over our room and bed coming in front the vent but management somehow thought asking for a new room was an absurd demand - refused to help us out. And lastly had a phone stolen by one of the staff which I later found in the jungle wrapped in a white face towel using my find my iPhone app. When I reported this to management, one of the managers turned around and said to the other one "Well what else does she want, she got her phone back". You would think they would want to know if the staff was behaving like that? Nothing was done other than they thanked me for letting them know. Highly disappointing - what AWFUL service.

Yelp
We've now been here twice, so I'm updating my initial review. First of all, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time. I'll give some observations: 1. We had a roof top suite with our own tub and a garden room with our own tub...We didn't use it enough to justify it. True battle of the mosquitos anyway up on the deck. Plenty of things to do and we didn't really see anyone using the rooftop or garden tubs (which were not private at all). The room itself was excellent with a comfy bed and plenty of pillows (5). Bathroom was adequate for one at a time in the shower (miss the double shower from Antigua). Toilet will flush, eventually, just hold the button down for some time. Hot water in the shower takes a bit of time but then is plentiful. T.V. pretty limited in English (NBC Miami). A couple movie channels. 2. Food at the buffet was the best A.I. food I've had at a buffet. That being said, it's still often bland enough to satisfy the wide variety of countries represented. I enjoyed it and with the sauce and salt I could bring most of it up to very good. Sushi at the buffet and the sushi bar was not good. Very bland rice. 3. Special restaurants: Alux - Different to be different, but not necessarily good combinations (Tomato and watermelon cold soup with lobster, sweet and sour strawberries and pecans) Cooked to death lamb. Outstanding service. Frutos Del Mar - Just not very good. SERIOUSLY overcooked seafood. Don't bother. Service was good. El Pescador - More overcooked seafood with lousy service. Tequila/Cozumel - We really enjoyed Tequila! The hot stone soup was very neat and flavorful. The food was also very good. I was thinking about the lamb, but the waiter said the beef was excellent so he said he'd bring both. The beef was the best I've had in some time. Marinated and grilled to medium rare. Excellent. Lamb was good as well. Wife enjoyed the tortilla soup and fajitas as well. Service was great. Mediterraneo - Enjoyed this restaurant as well. The onion soup had an incredible broth (although little shrimp). Didn't understand what we referred to as the "bread hat" it had. Wife had lemon chicken and I had the duck. The leg was cooked perfectly including crispy skin. The breast was overcooked and skin rubber. Still enjoyed this restaurant. Also great service. Grand Tortuga/Los Corales - Good meat. It's Brazilian, what do you expect? Not much else. Sausage was my favorite. Loved the grilled pineapple and coconut ice cream. 4. The trams - we rarely waited 5 minutes for a tram that was headed to our destination. They were a non-issue to us. We loved riding around abs enjoying the breeze. 5. The beach - Private area and never had a problem with chairs and shade. Private bar. Sand beach until you got to the ropes marking the start of the reef. Snorkeling was poor off shore since they don't let you snorkel past the ropes any more. 6. The activity pool is a LOT warmer than the rest. Loved to participate but when nothing was going on prefer the cooler and partly shady pool next to it. Plenty of chairs.

Yelp
If you can go adults only on your Canun vacation, then this is the resort to book. It's fantastic from start to finish. The accommodations are roomy, and unlike the other resorts, they were independent type rooms, rather than hotel rooms. Some of the amenities included a private outdoor hot tub that the butler filled at our request, food at every turn and every time of day, and special - themed drinks, and all day events at the resorts and beach. The wifi worked really well, and the staff was so kind. I hesitated due since the resort is not directly on the beach, however, my boyfriend and I agreed that the transportation to the beach and other resorts was not only quick and easy, but fun. It was a highlight to have access to so many other areas, and that allowed us to talk to many of the great staff. For excursions, I suggest asking the bellman to call a taxi, and for $25USD, you will have a personal taxi for 4 hours, rather than paying the outrageous fees offered by the tour companies. Plus, we saved a lot of time, by doing what we wanted, rather than doing what a bus of people wanted! Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
This was my first time going to Mexico and I had an unbelievable time!!!! LONG REVIEW BUT HAS LOTS OF INFO!! RESORT- The resort was amazing. As soon as we arrived someone took our luggage and ushered us to the check in desk. Check in was a breeze and our butler brought us a hot towel with some drinks. We then were droven in a golf cart to our room. Right outside our room was 3 pools, the pool bar and a few steps away the snack bar. Our room was located on the 1st fl so we didn't really have a balcony more like an open patio. The rooms are not as big as they seem in pictures however they are a great size. The bathrooms only have standing showers no tubs which is what I like. It also has a big mirror along with a makeup mirror next to the blow dryer. The junior suite has a king size bed with two nightstands on each size, flatscreen tv in front of the bed, a couch across the room with a table, and one closet with shelves. They offer 24hr room service and also a pillow menu if you prefer to have different pillows. This resort has a spa, 4 pools,2 buffet, and 4 á la carte. If you stay at this resorts you have access to there other 3 resorts by trolley. It's kinda located in the jungle which makes it so much more beautiful but do be careful when opening and closing your door so you won't let bugs in. The beach is not located right outside the hotel. You will have to take a trolley to it because it's a private beach only open to guests of this resort and the trolley gets you there in 5 minutes if you take the green one straight to the beach. We took the trolley a lot during our stay it was so easy to get around especially if you want to eat and relax at the other resorts. Another perk to staying here is that you can literally eat where ever you want to. In the front by the lobby they have shows there's like every night and they also have a board with what's happening at all the other resorts. FOOD- all the á la carte restaurant required you to make reservations first before you go. I recommend knowing which ones you want to go to and make the reservation as soon as you arrive as they fill up fast. We ate at Maiko, Alux, and Gran Tortuga-Rodizio for the á la carte and most of the buffets. The buffets at this resort was amazing the food are under heat lamps so they aren't hot but more like room temperature. Depending on when you go they do have chefs behind some tables to make you whatever they're making. Maiko and Alux service and food was extremely good but beware they are small potions. Gran Tortuga-Rodizio wasn't all that great. They say us next to the bathroom all the way in the back so the guys with skewers never actually came over to our table. It took our waiter almost 10 minutes to even greet us, the service wasn't great but we still tipped him anyways. My recommendation would to just eat at the buffets because after we ate at the restaurants we ended up going to eat at the buffets all the time anyways. I'm personally not a big drinker however I was looking forward to have a few drinks. The drinks was watered downed and left a nasty after taste. After that I only ordered Mimosas and Bellini. In my personal opinion the bartenders at the beach make the best drinks. Overall this hotel is absolutely amazing and beautiful. We will definitely be coming back here many more times. It's great if you don't want to be worrying about little ones running around. A wonderful place to relax, layout, and have peace & quiet. We did bring usd and pesos so we could tip as much as possible and they appreciated it. I can't wait to come back here probably for a much longer stay.

Yelp
The staff was very unpleasant. To start off, our party was 10 person (family and friends). Our group was there for a birthday celebration. When I checked in my suite it was filthy. Stains on the bed sheets. The pull out bed was even worst. Filled with rust and dirt all over the railing and sheet(I have video proof). They previously tried to put 2 of our people in that room but they asked for a new room which the hotel did not want to give them at first. Took them 3 hours before they finally agreed to switch them. After they moved them from that room they then proceeded to put me in that same exact room. I was told nothing else was available so I reluctantly stayed in the room. The next morning when getting ready for the day the bathroom toilet barely flushed. Had to hold the handle down for 3 mins no exaggeration. The sink had a slow drainage(have video as well). So when I brushed my teeth the sink stayed filled for like 45 mins after. Like I said it was a party of 10 so we had rooms between Sain Ka'an and Coba. We were not disrespectful, loud, out of control or any of that seeing how majority of us work for the US gov. Our group made a reservation for their Japanese restaurant in Coba. We asked them to book 6pm for 9 people(the 10 person was sick). They only booked 7 people. And said they were unable to accommodate for the extra 2 not even as a separate reservation for just the 2 at a different table at least. They took over 1 hr to seat us (mind you the restaurant was empty because it was just opening up at 6pm). Upon arrival we asked to speak to a manager to ask for just 2 more CHAIRS IF POSSIBLE. The host did not want to let us speak with a manager nor give out extra chairs. So once we were finally seated inside the empty restaurant that could hold 166 people capacity. We asked the server for 2 more chairs and he brought them with no issue and we tipped him. While 2 of my sister was still up front speaking to the host Dayana, a Caucasian couple walked in and stated they wanted to eat there even though they had no reservations and Dayana seated them with no issue literally right in front of their faces. After we expressed our disgust with their establishment Alfredo the guest service manager called the police on us and we asked them in front of the police "did anyone threaten you? Did anyone harm you? Did anyone do anything for you to call the police besides say we're escalating this situation past this resort to corporate?" The police left after they answered no to those 3 questions. The resort staff Alfredo and Dayana was unhappy the police agreed with us so they called security to follow my sister and I around. My sister and I came back to Sian Ka'an to speak to guest service manager Julio and explain to him the entire situation and how we were truly unhappy. We booked Bahia because their Jamaican resort was wonderful but our Tulum experience has changed our opinions. Julio was very apologetic and was the ONLY person who said he will investigate into this matter. Julio was already aware upon our arrival we were coming because Alfredo called ahead to speak to Julio. After calming down our group decided to eat at the buffet in Coba instead and make the best of our night. Even while exiting we witnessed another party arguing with the restaurant host as well. Afterwards, while my sister and I was walking back to my hotel room at 1am they had 5 men following us in their VERY POORLY lite alley path. Once again I voiced my dissatisfaction and slept at a different property that night because I DID NOT FEEL SAFE after they felt it was okay to have 5 men following 2 women at 1 in the morning down dark paths. The next night while we were eating in the buffet they started the harassment again by telling the restaurant manager we were not allowed to be there. The manager thankful came up to us himself and saw our wrist band that proved we indeed were allowed to be there then he apologized for the rest of the staff that had been harassing since the night before. He even had the chef make the birthday Queen a very lovely cake and a few shots. Julio also sent a complimentary bottle of champagne and glasses to my room and they brought Alfredo to apologize to my sister and I only for him to say he was not really sorry because he felt like we stole the 2 extra chairs. What was supposed to be a joyful experience was ruined by their very out in the open racism. Oh almost forgot after they had the 5 men following us and we asked for a shuttle back to Coba from Sian Ka'an they did not want to provide one. So a couple who happen to witness everything (they were at the Japanese restaurant in the beginning as well before they went to Sain Kaan) had ordered a cab and offered to bring us back to Coba.

Yelp
Great resort with intense detail to customer service. A plethora of restaurants on the property. You need reservations for dinner so plan ahead. They provide a Butter service, 24 hour room service. Take advantage of the services it will greatly enhance your experience. Leave the kids at home and stay at the adults only resort. You get access to the other 4, and it has the best atmosphere. The best beach by far. Enjoy and make the trip

Yelp
This resort was amazing for many reasons. First, it is adults only but you still have access to the other three resorts that are close to the beach. Second, Sian Ka'an had the best a la carte restaurants plus an amazing buffet. Finally the service was amazing! We upgraded for $300 extra to the penthouse suite with hot tub and it was worth every penny. I highly recommend that you get our room # 40923 because according to our butler it was the most secluded hot tub room. The wall was solid vs. a slatted wood wall. Our room overlooked the Mayan jungle which was another huge bonus. I can't say enough about Yair our butler. He was very Mr Deeds sneaky and he was always there to help out draw a hot tub, get us booze or ice. He provided amazing customer service! The property is secure and beautiful and they also run a shuttle to the other resorts. It will take longer than you expect to get to your next resort so add some more time. They also run a shuttle to the adults only beach for the Sian Ka'an guests so again no small kids! The main pool bar does shut down at 5:30 so beware because this resort does shut down a little earlier. However, there is the main bar and also a 24 hour snack bar. Also, every night there is a show in the main lobby. My only complaint were the other a la carte restaurants on the other properties. We went to the Brazilian steakhouse and the seafood restaurant. The food quality was very disappointing and almost barely edible. I recommend that if you stay here don't go to the other restaurants. They overcooked lobster and served gray meat....stay away from them and stay on this amazing resort!

Yelp
My family and I traveled the Grand Bahia in the Riviera Maya but stayed at the Akumal resort, right next to Sian Ka'an. It was simply beautiful. So relaxing and after a day or two we eventually weren't worried about what time it was during the day. The main pool at the resort had a swim-up bar which we immediately took advantage of and the beach was long and nice to walk on. Our rooms were comfortable and our bathrooms were very up to date. WiFi was tricky to figure out at first but we soon figured out the method we had to use, simply renew the WiFi each day, at no cost to us. We were at the resort during the week of Christmas and it wasn't terribly crowded, but still a good amount of people. It was quite hot but we got used to it and it practically became second nature to us. Better than dealing with Chicago weather at least! The food was amazing! There were a handful of restaurants, all within the resort and within walking distance, and all with great service. The nice thing too was that you could head to neighboring resorts to "dine out" too, like the Tulum resort or Sian Ka'an. Of course there was a buffet which had an insane amount of variety. If you couldn't find something you liked there, well then you were shit out of luck. We also took a couple day trips. We rode on ATV's and swam in a cenote, an underground fresh water pool within rock, and also visited Chichén Itza, a Mayan ruin. All of it was so cool! I would go back to the Riviera Maya in a heartbeat. It was a very wonderful trip!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I booked a relatively last minute trip to this resort. We have had great experiences with Cheap Caribbean and felt confident that we could book a wonderful trip last minute. We were looking for an adults only resort near the Mayan ruins and chose Sian Kaan based off great reviews. We loved that the resort was snuggled in the jungle and felt more quiet and quaint than other large resorts. That being said, we still had full access to the bustling 3 resorts (Tulum, Akumal and Coba) that are all part of the Bahia Principe Resort. Though the beach is a short shuttle ride away, we found the ride to be relaxing and seamless. The adults only section of the beach is great-- plenty of chairs, umbrellas, tables and right by the bar. We spent our half days (days of travel and day we did an excursion) by the pool at Sian Kaan. The pool is beautiful, clean and not too crowded. Every night there is a show at 9pm at each of the 4 resorts. We went to two (magic show at coba and Divos at Sian Kaan). We really enjoyed them and wish we went to more. However, we were finishing up dinner when most of them started. One thing that we saw advertised but not well explained was the Eco Bahia Tour. It is a bike ride and walk through the jungle right next to Sian Kaan. It was one of my favorite activities of the trip and would highly recommend if you enjoy nature and learning about the history of the area's natural resources. Be aware that it got very hot and buggy so just come prepared. Since we were only in the area for less than a week, we just did the half day Tulum excursion through Bahia tours. It was only $35pp and we got picked up by coach bus right at the hotel and had a wonderful tour guide. As many of the reviews mention you can likely take a cab/public transport for cheaper but I thought this bahia tour was well worth it.

Yelp
Full disclosure: we had never been to an all inclusive resort before this, so we can't compare Bahia to other all inclusive resorts. Short summary - all inclusives are just not for us. This particular resort was decent overall - nice accommodating staff and they certainly try to get you to have a good time and nice food, sort of like what I imagine they do on a cruise ship. The long 15-20 minute ride to the beach was OK - some days took longer than others but what the hell, we were on vacation time. As for the food - it was pretty meh. It was always a fancy preparation but when you bit into it, it was always cold. Of the Bahia resorts in this location - you have access to all of them - this one had by far the best buffet which we typically had for lunch but dinner was ok too. The rooms look good in pictures but are pretty dated/bare bones. If we had to do this trip over again, we'd stay in a regular nice hotel, and find places to eat on our own as food tends to be reasonably priced in Mexico and hot when you go elsewhere.

Yelp
Do not waste your time or money. A bunch of fumbling staff members with no real understanding of how to organize themselves. If you decide to go, be prepared for plenty of no's and a ton of confusion. We came for NYE with 6 people. We requested reservations in advance for 8-8:30 for 6 people. What we ended up getting was 3 separate reservations (2 @ 8:30 and 1 @ 6:00 pm) Just a question but why would this ever make sense???? End result, pure disappointment. Quite possibly one of the most disappointing experiences I've had in Mexico. Plenty of better higher quality places to go. Try El Dorado Royale!!

Yelp
We saved all year for our vacation and had a HORRIBLE TRIP. Sian Ka'an didn't have double beds as stated through United Vacations. Manager Jordana was nice but lacked competence in the hotel accommodations. The pullout couch I was supposed to sleep on was disgusting and the bed had a dead spider in it when we pulled back the sheets. After HOURS of front desk drama, we moved to Akumal and had a huge water leak where pools of water was coming through the WALLS onto the bedroom floor. We moved AGAIN to another room and had issues of what they call "condensation" on the floors which caused my friend to slip and fall. We called housekeeping and maintenance multiple times. Manager Stephanie said WE would have to pay to see a medic on their property! For $2,000 STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE. Go where you will be treated with respect and can be SAFE in your room during your vacation. I am appalled that this is considered a 4 star hotel. No way, no how. I've asked for a refund and was "denied." I've contacted the Better Business Bureau to help protect other people from wasting money on a place that clearly doesn't take their construction seriously, doesn't honor their reservations, doesn't assist when guests are injured and doesn't refund when they are flat out in the wrong. BEWARE! Angry and disgusted.

Yelp
it has been one issue after another since my arrival, the room itself needs maintenance however whats more problematic is that the ac units do not operate properly and after several individuals reported to my room with no resolve, someone finally manually shut the breaker switch off. staff have used the master key to enter my room without my permission on three occasions, two of which myself and my husband were naked. during a 10 day stay, the butler introduced herself on the 5th day and provided no assistance. if you are looking for luxury go elsewhere you will not get it here. 2 stars for the bartender in the lobby, he was nice

Yelp
Not really sure why they promote this as a 5 star hotel, it is a 3.5 star at most. Daily non reservation restaurant was absolutely GROSS. We had to stuff ourselves with food at the pool bar because we consumed alcohol the whole trip. The Brazilian steak house was delicious but you have to make reservations for it. We ended up eating there 2 of the 3 nights because we were tired of eating pizza, wings and fries. && they absolutely cut their alcohol but it seems that's not uncommon these days at all inclusive resorts. 10 tequila shots later and we didn't even have the slightest buzz && I'm absolutely not a drinker at all! Lastly, the room was nice but the bed felt like you were sleeping on a cot & underneath the door wasn't sealed to the ground so we were constantly killing bugs in the room. We eventually stuffed towels underneath the door which solved the problem.

Yelp
Amazing amazing amazing! Been here twice for vacation (honeymoon, then our 4 year anniversary). Dazzles me every time. Spring is better for the less-crowded (mostly Canadian vacationers at this time) experience with less heat. Fall is good too, but it's more crowded (usually with European visitors), hotter, and includes more bugs--but cheaper due to hurricane season. We LOVE it here any time of year, though! Join their MyBahiaPrincipe rewards club (free) for extra savings and some perks if you come more than once. We got free t-shirts and got to skip some lines. The excursions are incredible, too! :-D We did the catamaran half day trip and the Chichen Itza day trip. Both unforgettable! The food is all wonderful as well!

Yelp
I just got back from my honeymoon (1/25-1/31), and I already cannot wait to get back. I was thinking that after 6 days, I would be ready to get back home, but that wasn't the case. Beach Info - We knew this wasn't on the beach when we booked, but I ran into a guest that was not aware until they arrived and not happy. There are golf carts that shuttle you to the beach and I don't think I waited more than a couple minutes for one to arrive. In fact, they were usually there waiting for me. The SK portion of the beach was great, but docking one star because it sometimes could take a long time to get a drink. Usually faster to get it yourself. I thought it was cool that they brought some food out to the beach every day at lunch time, but it would be nice if there was some food or just snacks you could order. Really, this wasn't a huge deal because we had breakfast before going to the beach and enjoyed our break from the sun for lunch. Chairs were readily available, and beach was not rocky. I brought water shoes, but never wore them. Another con was the beach area is roped off, and pretty shallow. You can't get much farther than waist deep water. A pro is, we saw tons of cool fish, and there are so many that you don't need to snorkel to see them up close. Pools - we only used the activity pool. I preferred the infinity pool at the Akumal resort (which you have access to), but sometimes it was nice to get away from the children at the other resorts and hang out at the SK pools. We never had to rush to the pool or beach early to save a chair with a towel. No problem getting chairs. Food - AMAZING! We ate at 4 a la carte restaurants - Alex and Maiko at SK and Arlequin and Rodizio at Akumal. Husband LOVED the rodizio - lots of meats on skewers. The service at the a la cartes was outstanding and a similar meal in NYC would be at least $150/couple. Some people complain the portions are small, but I usually left stuffed. 3-4 courses is more than enough for me. We also enjoyed the buffet, especially breakfast with the omelet station. There was also a snack bar by the pool that we used a couple times, and we did room service, which arrived pretty fast. Room - We got the penthouse suite and used the hot tub on the roof almost every night - usually at sunset or after dinner at night. Great star watching up there. The best is when we realized our butler (yes we had a butler) would fill it whenever we wanted and at night he put bubbles, rose petals, and candles. Perfect for our honeymoon! You can also order different pillows, and I had our butler bring me a feather pillow. I also had him light some scented thing in our room so it smelled like passionfruit (there is a menu of scents). I didn't watch TV much, but there was an ok amount of channels in english, and I liked the movies on loop. Staff - everyone we met was SO NICE! They also seemed pretty hardworking and were constantly cleaning the grounds - they even decorated the sand in the ashtrays. Every single person I spoke with spoke English well, and there were not communication difficulties. Overall - About 70 minutes from the airport, so a tad far for a weekend trip, but we hope to come back. I couldn't find anything comparable at this price point, and we had a great time.

Yelp
I made reservations in Sept 2020 for our 20th anniversary Nov 20-27th 2020 directly through the Bahia Principe site. On my reservations it says "no need to confirm". So fast forward to Nov 19th, I call to make special dinner reservations for my 20th anniversary, could not get the hotel to answer. So I call the 800 number only to be told they were closed until April 2021. WHAT??? No phone call, no email nothing to inform me that my reservations were junk. They offered to move me to Akumal or Coba that is unacceptable. I booked ADULTS ONLY and do not want to have children anywhere screaming, running and crying for my anniversary trip. Besides my reservations were for $125 a night and both hotels they offered to switch me to were in the $89 per night range. I was sent scrambling last minute to arrange other accommodations. SHAME ON YOU BAHIA PRINCIPE!!!!!!!!!!!! Your inconsideration caused me $2000 in additional charges.

Yelp
So, I've been to my grand share of all inclusive resorts and this one really isn't that impressive. When we arrived, we were greeted by friendly folks and were given a beautiful, tasty blue sparkling wine. The one complaint, is that I went with a male friend and we had separate rooms and the people who were getting our room keys were acting like we had three heads because we were a female and male and weren't a couple. It was a little rude. The room was great. I liked the fact that even though there were a few other resorts, you didn't run into kids in the adult only resort (I've had a different experience at one previous place). The pools and beaches were pretty good. The alcohol situation isn't very impressive, I felt like the drinks weren't that strong and Lord knows, I'm trying to consume the least amount of calories and get the most alcohol in one drink. The food here was ok in the buffet area and the restaurants were ok. Unfortunately, I didn't get to try the hibachi restaurant and one recommendation is to call before your trip to make a reservation because it was booked everyday we were there. Overall, if you're looking for a super cheap getaway, then you won't be disappointed. Otherwise, my best experiences in all inclusive resorts that's not overly expensive is Excellence in Punta Cana(very reasonable price) or any Sandals resort(if price is not an issue).

Yelp
Second time to sian ka'an but first review. Last year we went for our honeymoon and had an amazing time. We didn't think anything could surpass it, so we booked for a one year anniversary trip! I can't possibly mention everything positive about this place because I'll be here forever but I'll try and hit on a few.... Firstly...the food. Wow. Going to the a la carte restaurants I think I had the option for filet every night..what a treat. It was amazingly tender and the sides and starters and desserts to go with it were also phenomenal. The majority of my pictures were the food...not sure how I didn't gain a million pounds because you just want to keep trying foods. The main buffet was excellent as well..breakfast probably one of my favorites because of the eggs to order, lox and bagels, churros, pastries, and fruits. Then because sian kaan is exclusive, you can eat at any of the other resorts on the property! Buffet is best at sian kaan but the others have great a la Cartes. My favorites for dinner were alux, arlequin, don Pablo, Brazilian steak house one, fruites del mar. Drinks.... Two words.. Grey goose. And for my husband I'll add Johnny walker black label. Included! Love. Always great drinks being made and often stronger than you think!being my second time I insisted on making my way through the blue pool/beach cocktail list. Some get redundant but you can't go wrong. Ask for caipirinha (I'm sure my spelling is off.) Made with some Brazilian rum and phenomenal. Staff...above all else, they make the trip. Always eager to please and go above and beyond. One night at dinner I was trying to slow down my drinking and the waiter thought I didn't like my drink so he brought another but tweaked. We had two favorites by far. Eglady from the buffet for breakfast and lunch was outstanding. We had her our first meal and requested her at every opportunity. She truly made our vacation extra fun and deserves an extra special mention! So does Luis, who was first in the buffet but then the snack bar and even room service. I'm guessing the reason we saw him everywhere was because of his amazing service and ability to succeed in everything he does. Always positive and made sure to visit him daily! I could go on forever, but last few things. A few people I talked to complained that it wasn't on the water. The short trolley ride didn't bother me. In Fact, I loved to see the other resorts on the property and likely wouldn't have if we were right on the beach. Plus we were in the jungle which gave it a serene, private, relaxing atmosphere. I also think the adults only is spectacular. Not that I don't love children...but the yelling and screaming and cannonballs with water going into my drinks was well avoided :) we will definitely go and hopefully take family as well!

Yelp
Everything great so far, Day 3 of 14. This review is of the so called "Italian " resteraunt near the adults only section of the resort. Service is outstanding throughout the resort. The food was pretty bad. Stale rolls , farmed salmon not fresh taasting very fishy smell. Dessert was 2 pieces of banana ...: just super lame. Sitting under a fourescent bulb light and fake candles on table .....kitchen looked like a High school cafeteria ..... wine was extra not inclusive .

Yelp
I already left a detailed review on trip advisor but i have to leave one here too so i can give it 5 stars :-) Love, love, love this hotel and vacation! Unbeatable service, modern place, beyond delicious food, access to 3 other resorts. I mean, it's 6 stars not 5. People are so friendly and nice there. Whoever left a bad review is crazy! Food was great at every restaurant and it's different. Just make sure you go there. It's great for couples i would say. I really miss this place.

Yelp
I'm honestly surprised by how many reviews rave about this place. Recently I decided that I would like to propose to my girlfriend and thought it would be great to do so in Mexico. I looked on BookIt.com and found this resort and thought it was a good mix of good reviews and a good price, so I booked it. Starting two weeks before the trip I emailed the resort and told them that I intend to propose at the resort and I'd love their help in making it extra special. *crickets* days go by and no e-mail. I e-mail again... nothing. I found a social media account for the main hotel corporation and I tweet them and they tell me to email them directly. Finally get a person to e-mail back, but now they say there's nothing we can do until you arrive. Wow! Every other resort I've ever stayed at will try and help out, especially if you're looking to spend $$$ on extras. I wanted to hire a photographer, set up a special dinner, etc. and I got no help. Disappointed from the start, unfortunately the disappointment didn't stop there. Not sure how people are raving about the food, but it's pretty terrible. Yes, there is a big selection, but it's a big selection of low quality food. We didn't enjoy any of our meals until we left the resort and went into Tulum and ate there. The rooms are super basic, the mattress is a joke and the minibar is pathetic for an all inclusive. 2 beers and 3 airplane sized bottles of alcohol. The place bills itself as a 5 star resort with 5 star amenities and that's honestly a joke. If you've ever stayed at a Four Seasons, Ritz, Waldorf, etc. then you'll be disappointed if you're expecting the same level of quality and service. This place is more like a 3.5, maybe 4 star resort. We'll never stay here again and I regret not staying at one of the Mayakoba resorts like the Andaz, Fairmont or Banyan Tree.

Yelp
Excellent experience here. Rooms were luxurious and quiet. No kids running around at all, this was an adult only resort. Food on the premises were ok, so a huge plus by all-inclusive standards. The beach was nice, albeit too rocky in places for my bare feet. I didn't like their transit system, little golf carts, because they were really erratic and few and far in between during peak hours.

Hannah R.

Yelp
A huge disappointment. Food was practically inedible, and no Mexican cuisine available anywhere in the resort. We paid extra for a room with a jacuzzi, but it requires hotel staff to set up, which they declined to do despite our requests. If I trusted anyone working here to accomplish a single thing, I'd be asking for a refund. The resort is nowhere near the beach, and requires half an hour of travel to get there. This is a tourist trap, with no luxury and zero sense of hospitality.

Yelp
Overall, had a great 4 night stay here. Food was good, so much selection at the buffet. Room was big and clean. No security issues whatsoever. Great hotel if you want the pool, the beach and the all-inclusive experience on the Yucatan Peninsula. Also short rides from both Tulum and Playa Del Carmen on the collectivo if you want to venture off the resort. A little pricy but top quality here. It is 30 minutes away from Tulum. It has a nightclub too which is pretty neat and international. Basically, if you are with Si'an Kaan, then you have access to all 5 resorts but you come back to the quiet one for the evenings. It's the adults only and breakfast is more than peaceful. There are also stage performances in the evenings but it will all shut by 11 pm on this resort do that's when you go to Coba or Hacienda. The food was great at the buffet morning and night. No issues exchanging currency right at the hotel front desk. You can take a taxi to Tulum for 25$ or so which is more than reasonable. Now that I am a Hilton Honors member, I may opt to stay there next time with an escapade to Tulum but if you love all-inclusives and chilling by the ocean, this one is a fantastic option.

Yelp
When I checked in, one of the two rooms I selected - 6 months ago - was given to other guests before we all arrived. Thankfully one of my friends arrived early enough to secure the other room I selected 6 months ago. I understand a first come first serve policy but don't allow your guests to select rooms if you are not going to honor it. Not to mention, they gave the second room I had selected to other guests and my friends were given a room in the next building. Why not just give the other guests the room in the other building? Especially knowing we were on our way. We notified the hotel my flight was delayed, they knew we were on our way, the shuttle driver knew my flight was delayed. This hotel is nowhere near the airport. Bottom line, if you have 4 people traveling together, give them rooms right next to eachother. No exceptions here. These are not just rooms, this is an experience and you have ruined ours. We are four lifelong friends that have been planning a trip together for over a decade. We were finally able to make these plans and we were excited to see each other! We would have loved to have been in one room but all-inclusives are made for 2. So we requested rooms next to each other and selected them online well in advance. But when we arrived, instead of having rooms across the hall from eachother, we had the inconvenience of rooms across buildings from one another. It was so inconvenient that it ruined our stay. We ended up hopping over the roof to see each other because it was shorter than walking down the stairs and through the courtyard. All the action is in the other properties - including the beach. Expect to spend a lot of time waiting on a shuttle. We missed 4th of July fireworks because we were waiting on the shuttle. Also, they must put bleach in the pool water, turned my grey hair yellow. Have never had that happen in a pool. And the food was not great at all and it was IMPOSSIBLE to make a reservation. We tried to make reservations for the week in the morning of the first day of our stay and everything was booked for the week. I recommend the Excellence Playa Mujeres instead.

Yelp
I've been holding back on reviewing this place, but I can finally get around to telling you all about my wonderful experience at the adults only Sian Ka'an. This is located roughly an hour away from the airport and the compound itself is actually comprised of 4 hotels: Sian Ka'an, Akumal, Tulum and Coba. Coba was the largest compound I believe and the cheaper of the 4 with younger and rowdier crowds. My friend is a member of the Privilege Club so we were basically VIP and I guess the review might be a little biased since they absolutely did their best to accommodate us in every which way. Fruits and drinks on the table every day? Sure. Top shelf alcohol? Sure. Want your jacuzzi on with bubbles at a certain time? Most definitely. There are even private golf carts for the privilege club members to get from one resort to the next. Regular members can also use the regular golf carts, but may have to wait a little bit if they are still going around from one resort to the next. Their pools are smaller & quieter for those who like to relax and read, and well maintained. Food was always great and they rotate the cuisine every night in the buffet area. We would eat at the restaurants at night and always come back to get their delicious desserts. Towards the end of the trip, my friend was able to get the penthouse suite so we chilled upstairs in the terrace where the jacuzzi was located and watched the stars (and plenty of shooting stars!) at night, chilling and drinking. The only thing we wished they had was better 24 hour room service. The menus were very limited so if you wanted coffee or tea or desserts and stuff, you had to go out to the buffet or main lobby where the bar was located and get your stuff there. Besides that though, we all had a great experience. I'd rate this 4.5/5.

Yelp
This place is an absolute joke. Nobody knows what the other is doing. We extended our stay before we left- big mistake. We were in the lobby constantly trying to organize our extension the first thing they asked for- all of our "paperwork" which to their chagrin we produced. Their response- forward all of this to the manager, we have to wait for paperwork from Miami. We forwarded the information and arrived at 9am to speak with the manager- who hadn't read ANYTHING. This is a small taste of the many troubles we had. This place is the worst place we have ever been- the Dominican and even Costa Rica were better. I have never been on a vacation I could wait to leave until now. We should have stayed home. I wish I could give them minus stars.

Yelp
Amazing hotel. Exquisite food. Beautiful beach. Ran and operated by timeshare thieves. We made a naive decision to try out their time share because they promised us so many things and told us what we wanted to hear. We're used to the American way that if you don't get what you're promised, you take them to court and sue them. Well this is a foreign entity and you can't bring them to an American court. The things they promised were even WRITTEN on paper. It's what we signed for. Yet when you call to book a trip through them, they say "we don't do that anymore, the rules have changed, oh the prices have changed." And when you say: "can you honor what we have agreed on" they simply brush you off and say "sorry we can't do that anymore" these are the new rules.

Yelp
Beautiful resort loved the fact we were able to get serviced at the sister hotels for free we stayed at luxury bahia principe sian Ka'an will definitely be returning to this hotel or to the same hotel company in a different country. Food was absolutely delicious for an all inclusive hotel had variety and actually served Mexican food. Sian Ka'an is definitely more mellow and relaxed than any of the other sister hotels but it was nice at times and if you wanted more of upbeat ambiance you only had to take a trolley to the other Bahia principe hotels. Although sian Ka'an is not directly on the beach it is not a deal breaker you only need to take a trolley to the beach and there is an exclusive sian Ka'an area but you can go to the other areas if you'd like and get serviced there. The architecture of the hotel is beautiful many photo opportunities with the beautiful trees. Although we had to take a trolley it was pretty relaxing as well. Will be coming back to this hotel

Yelp
Terrible customer service from the Luxury Bahia Principe Sian Kaan sales department. We booked through Agoda.com (also terrible customer service) a reservation at the resort on 12/19/16. Our reservations were cancelled four times since. Agoda.com claimed it was the hotel because of a problem with the credit cards. (We're paying approximately $900 a day at the Hyatt Ziva Cancun for 8 people for past week). The credit card companies said they never received much less denied the charges. We have almost unlimited charging privileges with Amex, Master Card and Visa. When I called the hotel direct they could care less when I asked why the reservation was cancelled. They didn't even ask for my name or reservation # and only claimed to be fully booked, which was also weird since their website showed rooms available. The resorts sales rep. Claudia (the person who could care less) claimed the reservation could have only been deleted by Agoda.com. I've had multiple problems with Agoda.com so I'm convinced they are the culprit. However, don't expect any help from the hotel if you show up and your Agoda.com or other reservation is cancelled. They don't stand behind their brand.

Yelp
Just returned back from this lovely resort. Service was wonderful, entertainment was wonderful, food was delicious and no one can ever go hungry here with all their food options at any hour of the day. The staff was wonderful. We had a small air conditioning leak upon arrival but we it did not bother us as it was fixed right away. The resort is peaceful and so are the guest that I encountered. It definitely is the best place for relaxation and to catch a tan. I visited with my spouse but we barely even spend time at our resort because we were up and down visiting the other sister properties which we loved. We enjoyed visiting the akumal because it was bigger and a little more lively and the beach was literally right there. I only went a few days so I was not even able to experience all of the resorts in my time being but I do hope to return soon and stay several days because the resort is huge!! I would not change anything about my stay, I loved the resort we stood in because it was adult free and calm and when we wanted a little more entertainment, we just crossed the bride to the sister resorts. The sian Kaan is alone on one side of what bridge and the other three are across. Sometimes there was a wait to get a shuttle back to our resort but nothing to complain off.On our side of the resort, there was no beach, but the shuttle passed by every few minutes to take us. The beach was beautiful and many fishes surround you as you are swimming. Definitely will be returning back!
